The stepmom, looks like a mix between Husky and Dingo. Foxes and Dingos would have very similar patterns, hens the cubs and her probably mixed well together

For example there was a fox in The Cotswolds (Worcestershire England) that had a pack of hounds and horsemen in hot pursuit, it was totally outnumbered so one might think it was done for. Not so! this fox seemed to know the train times and it ran into a railway tunnel just as the London express was due. Over twenty hounds splattered and the fox got away! However you look at it using an express train to even up the odds is pretty shrewd.

Most reasons for foxes not being allowed as pets without permits is because back in the day they were considered a fur trade animal, as well as the fact that they have a genetic predisposition for being more easily infected by certain diseases such as mange, as well as the fact that for a very long time they were considered to be a vermin animal that was too dangerous to have. Due to recent changes in science and genetics foxes and other animals are being changed in legislature to suitable pets.

They should be fully domesticated after raising them with a dog. Dogs can domesticate any alpha predator on the planet especially lions tigers and bears. Foxes= no problem. In fact a lion, tiger, or bear will never challenge a dog because of the dogs bark.

If you have all the right shots, there is no reason you shouldnt be able to keep at least one :)
