I know that times change, but there was so much purity back then. Now it's all lights and explosions, tricky camera angles, and a whole bunch of nonsense.
i agree with andy42x this was also when Knew all of the players or some like hull, gretzky, Shanahan, messier, yeah those players are my top faves and Modano
with a wooden stick....Iafrate is perhaps most famous for his rocket slap shot that set the NHL Skills Competition record, which stood for 16 years, at 105.2 miles per hour (169.3 km/h). The record was broken in 2009 by Zdeno Chára of the Boston Bruins with a slap shot at 105.4 mph in Montreal
in addition gartner still holds the fastest skating record...both these items backup my belief that the payers are no better today than they were in the nineties
This was back when I loved hockey. Knew all of the players, their numbers and stats. Now I only know a few names, and I don't care about the game much. Not sure if it's me getting older, or if game has changed. But I get nostalgic when I watch this. Thanks for posting.
@andy42x I'm the same way.. I think it's like your first love, ya know. You'll always compare the others to that one lol. I still enjoy watching, but it's not like when you first fall in love with the game =)
Thanks for posting this.

LaFontaine: "I hope I'm not in this one Pierre."
Turgeon: "Huh?"
LaFontaine: "I hope I'm not in this one."
Turgeon: (laughs)
LaFontaine: "It's to easy to fall down..."
Who ironic these two would be traded for each other only a year later.

And at 5:30, Lemieux pulls it off around a defender during the game. Unbelievable!
