  • I must confess, I take perverse pleasure in hearing popular musicians trivializing... er sorry, I mean "reinterpreting" classical compositions.

  • @hulakan ok so in your opinion an orchestra does a better job than these guys. well i dont share your opinion. why? because there is one big thing i dont like about classical musicians which is that they are totally unoriginal, all their doing is play something somebody else wrote, somebody else`s feelings. ill always have more respect for composers and original players than for any classical musician.

  • Django Reinhardt (g); Stéphane Grappelli (v); Gianni Safred (p); Marco Pecori (b); Aurelio de Carolis (dm) 1949 January-February - RAI Studios, Rome

  • dude his rhythm guitarist is like a swiss clock, sry but as much as i adore django i think whichever rhythm guitarist is the one playing that perfectly is probably the greatest in that group. Just my $0.02

  • more tha guitar and violin, more than music, more than beautyful... Django and Stephane!

  • If you want to understand this style more check out a book called "The Guitar Style of Django Reinhardt and the Gypsies" by Ian Cruickshank. Full of great pictures and guitar techniques! Better than any other book on the subject I've seen.

  • He played the violin before he lost his pinky and ring fingers in a fire. He was a prodigy because he learned by listening to other guitarists playing and never being taught to play it. He learned by ear.

  • I think the one disliker would give everything to be somewhat of a Genius as Django is!You have to start from something, especially the ones you dont like to be ONE!

  • The greatest jazz guitarist the world has ever known or what. He would have been 101 years old today but the music still sounds young and timeless.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • Absolutely delicious!!! I am in awe!

  • if anybody could show me the chords/tabs to this song, i'd be very grateful.

  • if anybody could show the chords/tabs to this song, i'd be very grateful

  • If I were to list my ten favorite guitarists, Django would probably make up seven of them.

  • fantastic version of a great symphony

  • Django Reinhardt was a real original.

  • @mahoose6 Genius is the only ! Appellation! !!! - the true original -, just as Chopin and Paganini in the 19th Century ., they surely left a great musical legacy !!

  • really great !

  • ADORABLE

  • Wish there was more explanation and different pictures of the man.

    Very good recording.

  • Yeah, that's all it's meant to be though, just the recording.

  • Sheesh, I can't play a tiny fraction as well as this guy on my AIR GUITAR!

  • Amazing, the emotion coveyed through this sound cannot be matched.

  • Django was an artist, and a master guitarist. Even with his burned hand, he was able to create beautiful music, and that is what makes him a true artist.

Django lives on through his music.

  • Muy bonito!

  • Lovely, fantastic, my addiction.
