The fuck? Hitch wasn't on his A-game this time, I agree, but Hart doesn't understand Atheism or reason at all. Yes, we have reason to believe that in a universe of infinite possibilities that there COULD be a god, but we have no reason to believe that any of the other moral/ritual shit attached to it is worth dealing with just because the existence of a god is POSSIBLE. Ancient gods are ALWAYS a package deal, religious people have way more shit to prove than just the existence of their favorite.

Hartmann is tense and defensive. Religiotards never seem to get it that the atheist does not have to disprove every god that people can imagine. It is the believer that is making a truth claim, and the atheist that refuses to accept it for lack of evidence. The "atheism is religion" garbage is orwellian doublethink.

@GowanBray They don't think to get to the truth, they feel to the truth. If something feels right and in line with their view, they think it is true. It is a form of Solipsism, unmatched in other parts of society.

Thom seems to suggest that his side of the argument is supported by the ignorance of our species, which gives him room to make supernatural claims. Its like saying "Well, we don't know what this is, and so therefore I do know, it's God". Christopher and many other atheists are not always good at detecting the argument from ignorance, and God of the gaps fallacy.
