What instrument is palying in the middle. Are there any other versions with that section? I think it's the best moment in the whole album and I wish they'd kept it for the stage version.
This is easily the best version of Eva's Lament. The removal of the second verse (thankfully restored and beautifully sung by Elena Roger in 2006) dampened the ending's impact. Also, the parallels between the lyrics and Covington's own decision not to pursue the role onstage are eerie.
Я с уважением отношусь к празднованию жизни леди и это видео не имеет никакого политического или иного предложения, поэтому, пожалуйста, просто рассмотреть мое видео, как любительский слайд-шоу из фотографий интернет.
As I said in the "more info" of this video, I do respect the celebration of life of the lady and this video has no political suggestions or otherwise, so please just consider my video as an amateur slideshow of internet photos.
Wow what a great montage. Fell in love with with "Evita" and Eva Peron as a grade 12 music student. First time I had ever heard about either. A fantastic lady-so misunderstood by western standards ( and what are they really)-so unique that the likes will probably never be seen again. Viva la Evita.
@mikewoollett Coincidentally, I first heard about Eva in 12th grade, except I was introduced to her in Spanish class. I truly adore this woman and know other poeple who love her as much as I do. Viva Evita!
Thank you for this beautiful song. Look forward to Buenos Aires. I have a copy of the LP unopened - don't know how long I will keep it that way, no plans for opeing it!
This song could also be about Steve Jobs...

@dfthompson The instrumental interlude also appears on the Japanese and Czech cast recordings.

I listen to this and I am 14 years old, walking the school corridor, nothing between the song and the Walkman....
years later, no matter how mawkish some musicals seem- Andrew Lloyd Webber ones especially- this song remains truthful and important...
