Shining Force III! I actually found the designs for the main characters to be very appealing for this game.

I think there is an actual English patch for the 2nd and 3rd disk available somewhere (Just search it up on youtube for a demo).

That's my point though, those were GBA games. I remember playing Star Ocean Till the End of Time and I can't even remember the music, but in Second Story I was so floored by the soundtrack that I stopped the game and just sat there listening. Maybe it's just because it was my first exposure to his music. Symphony of the Night had a similar effect on me, (blowing me away totally) but in Castlevanias since then the soundtracks have to grow on me a bit.

Shining Force is such a great series. I really wish the other two scenarios for Shining Force 3 had been translated into English.
