  • 0:49 the guitar player has a George Harrison button on his strap ;)

  • It's amazing how his voice sounds so much like Pet Sounds. Not on the high parts, but still, you can hear that same voice

  • All power to Brian Wilson!

  • He still looks really sad. But he seems really well just kind of throwback-ish and really depressed.

  • Genius

  • yes, bri is in fine form

  • Wow, this still sounds relevant and Bri sounds great!

  • bella voce che aveva Brian Wilson da giovane ?

  • This is absolute genius. There's so much going on musically in Brian's songs and arrangements. He and Dennis have written the most heart-wrenching music I've ever heard.

  • Thank you, Brian Wlison for being you and bringing joy to my world....

  • I echo Brian's sentiments......

  • Gosh, this explains how I feel sometimes. Brian is a genus!!!!!!!

  • Gives me chills, every time.

  • The composition of this song is without parallel. Amazing.

  • Damn, cocaine did really fuck his voice on.

  • Now I know where early Steely Dan got their inspiration from

  • Brian needs to divorce his goldigging waxface piece of shit wife, she didnt help him like she tries to take the credit for.

  • @Desiree50able You go sis Team Marilyn Forever

  • Brian's music has literally saved my life a few times. Thank God for the Man.

  • @peterp21 If you think he looks 75 or 80......wait til your 60 lol ....he looks pretty okay for 60.

  • @squelcherood so how is it up there at 60?

  • 2:36 I once thought it was his voice on the original recording

  • Simply Amazing. . .

  • Bri is 60 in this video, but he looks about 75 or 80. The amount of drugs he took for such a long time really ruined him both mentally and physically.

  • @peterp21 he doesnt look fucking 75 or 80 what the hell.

  • @peterp21 I wouldn't mind looking like that at 60.I'll probably be dead by then anyway! ;P

  • he can still reach the high notes here!

  • this is not the brian wilson i was looking for

  • @nickbro1997 This is the only Brian Wilson! Were you looking for that bearded douche bag pitcher on the Giants?

  • what is the name of the instrument that appears to 2:34 to 2:45?

  • Vladimir Lenin at 1:30?

  • what is the instrument at 1:19 ? some type of harmonica? this is also used in the outro chorus of Cabin Essence.

  • @alexandertarangerkin Yes, it's a special harmonica made for really low notes.

  • It's nice that Brian was still able to pull off these songs as recently as 2002. This song has a pretty challenging range.

  • This is one of the three truly GIGANTICLY GREAT songs of the 1960's. The other two being Here There Everywhere, and The Unfaithful Servent- (I can explain in another post) . Just my humble opinion. But this song is one that I will listen to "Until I Die" and NEVER get tired of it. I've been listening to it for more than 40 years now, since the first days the LP hit the stores, and I still love it everytime I hear it. Beethovan could not have done better.

  • @earthling10021 oh come on man, the ENTIRE band album was the greatest collection of songs recorded in the sixties. this song is one of the greatest though, my favourite off pet sounds

  • I think Brian and Todd Rundgren are the only two 'rockers' who use the Theremin. Thank goodness the Wondermints protect and love Brian. Without them, he would NEVER have toured live.

  • one of my all time favorite songs...great lyric and melody...gary usher wrote the words...

this song captures how one can feel..

years ago...i used to sit by the ocean, late in the day, the sun setting, the thick puffy grey clouds, the beauty and serenity of nature and i'd listen to this song from pets sounds...on my sony walkman...remember those?

i was wealthy, young, in great shape physically... with zero money worries at that time...

    those were days....

  • I, for the first time in my life, cried while watching a youtube video

  • Simply Great

  • Brilliant. I think when it comes to musical creativity the Beach Boys, and particularly Brian, were the only group to match, and maybe even better the Beatles.

  • Brings tears to my eyes.. And.. who is that lovely lady in the background?

  • @Pan3405 Taylor Mills

  • @mattypark Thanks... woowwwwwwwwww!!!

  • @mattypark She's a real SWEETIE !!!

  • @Pan3405 Put any attractive blonde in a band with mostly older men and of course shes going to appear beautiful.Talor Mills is just eye candy ,No talent!

  • @Desiree50able I saw and heard a few YT clips of this lady I must admit..She's a bad mixture of S. Twain and The Corrs..real boring..

  • @Pan3405 you sound like a smart person .Peace and Love to you

  • que hijo de mil puta, que cancion

  • what they play at 2:40?

  • @petosupersonico2 Hi.It's called a theremin.

  • @mattypark Actually not quite, looks to be a custom ribbon device of some kind; sine wave oscillator connected to a variable resistor-sorta. Like an Ondes Martenot

  • @spatz0r Believe me man, it's called a tannerin, I know some members of the band and that's what they refer to the instrument as.

  • @mattypark Actually, it's called a tannerin. It's essentially a theremin minus the antenni and has a keyboard diagram. It's also know as an electro-theremin and is in fact the instrument used on I Just Wasn't Made For These Times, Good Vibrations, and Wild Honey. Paul Tanner himself, the inventor of the instrument, performed on those tracks.

  • @sfan1 I believe it's called a ribbon controller. Coincidentally, I just read about this topic a few hours ago. It's the same instrument Mike used to play on Good Vibrations and Wild Honey onstage.

  • @mattypark it's not a theremin but it sounds like one. it's actually a Ondes Martenot, there pretty rad!

  • @mattypark but its a special theramin...

  • @mattypark Actually thats a Tannerin which is a kind of theremin

  • @petosupersonico2 It's an ondes martenot, not a theremin

  • @petosupersonico2 The correct answer is: Tannerin. It is the instrument being played. Was also used on other BB songs. Sounds similar, but not the same.

  • FAV song from petsounds

  • its all awesome, wish they had those big ole timpani's from pet sounds

  • never feel scared brian you have so much love in your life you are one of the luckiest persons in the world never feel sad they are the times when we all sit out in the back yard and have a little cry then come inside and its forgotton no one is safe from sad you were made for this time NOW injoy it

  • how the fuck do you write a song like this

  • @FatherofMan25 i always ponder on that same question every time i listen to it. It's my favorite song on pet sounds. it's simply from a realm of musical thought that Brian was able to bring into this physical world. just an awesome song =)

  • @FatherofMan25 You can only write a song like this if angels are whispering the melodies to you!

  • @FatherofMan25 i wish i know

  • @FatherofMan25 You don't listen to the music of the current era to write great songs. Brian was influenced by the mid 50s band called the Four Freshmen. Very square. Brian figured out how to rock them up. He later followed his own muse, as is seen here. That's what makes Brian Wilson a genius.

  • @FatherofMan25 You have to be a genius, brother

  • @FatherofMan25 It's called LSD

  • @FatherofMan25 For a normal person, it's tough. For Brian Wilson, he does it in his sleep.

  • @FatherofMan25 pure genius

  • @FatherofMan25. How indeed, just beautiful ...

  • Incredible performance of a masterpiece. This couldn't have been done better.

  • I love how the theramin is marked, lol.

  • His voice sounds awesome

  • Who is the guy with the Russian Cossack hat?

This is a really good traveling band.

  • @YouMuseMe The band is the Wondermints. I was the UK product manager for the Pet Sounds Live album. I was at this gig and later shows and got to meet Brian, who signed my Pet Sounds Live promo CD. Quite a thrill.

  • @Dentakulator

Im so glad brian wilson came back in my generation to play his music again. No one wouldve thought hed be the only surviving wilson.

  • @YouMuseMe That's Nicky Wonder from the Wondermints. Brian seen them playing Beach Boys covers in a club I think and asked if they would be his backing band.

  • I love this concert

  • OOH THAT THEREMIN!!!!!!!

  • I hate you Jeff Foskett.

  • His voice sounds great here! Gotta work on the timing though ! :)

  • a true artist. his music will go across the centuries

  • his voice is pretty damn good here, i could still hear the young brian in there

  • I think the vocals were doubled but still a great performance from Brian and the band.

  • @yeoGlover that can be done live with delay

  • His voice was still pretty good in 2003 (on this song)

  • Sounds as good as he did on the Pet Sounds album. He is still my Hero and Villain !!
