To all those confused: the roles were reversed to really hammer in the point. At any moment, you can change your life by the way you approach a situation.
The lucky guy didn't stop being lucky, he just didn't take advantage of that situation. Don't you see? Making your own luck is something you have to do over and over again - every moment is a moment you can own, or a moment you can waste. Every moment.
@NGCapnJack Precisely. As they say, 'luck is an attitude', not something that either guy simply has all the time. Although, I would argue that the reversal isn't to stress that a person should "own" every moment, but rather that, with the right 'attitude', any of us losers could 'break out' at any moment. Of course, if you're too timid to approach strange women, etc., you can do just as well and 'break out', or sieze the moment, by drinking Martini! This is a commercial, after all :)
Because the guy on the right isn't lucky. He just had the right attitude to give himself better opportunities, that's the entire point of the commercial. By the end, the guy on the left is the one that makes the best of the situation and defies what seemed like an unlucky day.
The reversing of sides (unlucky/lucky -> lucky/unlucky) really made no sense whatsoever and probably won't go over well with the average user. Advertisement fail imo.
@razzledazzle84921 The character on the right is representative of promiscuity. While the character on the left through the mechanism of courage is able to obtain the much more desirable, in western culture at least, single or monogamous partner. The character on the left has theoretically established a more fulfilling interaction made, supposedly, more intense for the audience by altering expectations. The reason you are confused is because it was executed poorly.
@timr888 Because by the end of this commercial, you (the spectator) has learned to do better. By purchasing this fine product you too can invert the lucky guy !!!! -_-
The song featured is "Oh Johnny Oh" by The Andrews Sisters.

This is so extremely well written. Extremely good! Please tell me, who was in charge of concept/storyboarding?

Why'd you invert the lucky guy in the last scene?
