@chuylalolupe You should drop the transmission, and take it to a transmission shop, it's alot cheaper if you do the removal and installation of the transmission your self, or of course you could buy a book on transmissions and try to rebuild it yourself, though I think you would save yourself the headache and do the first, it's what I did. When I bought this car it didn't have drive either because it was abandoned by the previous owner and I bought it from a towing auction.

the only thing bad about these cars are the frame on them they put half a frame in the front and bolted it to the body and once the body starts rusting the frame comes lose good running cars though they will run forever

@HOEweezy Chevy is my favorite car company but i consider myself well diversified in cars, i have an oldsmobile toronado, nissan stanza, the chevy nova of coarse, and a bmw 318i. none are as fun to drive as the nova but they all have there perks and quirks...

man ur nova is almost identical to my 77 concours mine is a little darker and has wider crome strips on the fenders were did u get the chrome for between the windows???? and mine dosent have the top any more

you know you're supposed to pump the gas before you start these cars right? it only took that long to start and made that noise because a. you hang on the starter too much and b. not enough fuel to the carb yet.

@coolassnodi sorry so late haven't had internet in a while, but if you listen closely you can hear me pump the gas before i turn the key, and it was bad carb why it started like that when cold, when warm it started right as you turned the key

got a 77 nova myself,and the starter made the same noise..the good thing about old novas is ,it just cost me $16 total for a valve cover gasket and a upper eadiator hose...yes!

It wasnt a Nova it was a Rebadged Toyota corolla. The direct succesor to the nova was the Citation then the celebrity. I dont want them to bring the nova name back modern cars just don't look good.

Thx, and I didn't like the novas of the 80's when they turned it into a compact car. And I listen to ALL types of music but when I made this video I was just coming out of a rap only stage that took 4 years of good music out of my life. I had forgotten about those 80's Novas LOL. Completely different car. That's when GM first got together with Toyota with their joint project, so they were actually Toyotas. I sure wish they wouldn't have used the Nova name on them. They were later the Geo Prism.
