  • Question? Do you believe "surrendering the ego" supports the illusion of control?

  • So I was with you all the way up until the rationalizing of the jumping through hoops... It something I've been thinking about from the kids pov and it's kind of like pulling out the gun. It's basically saying that the stuff we deal with in class is pointless but it's the only way to be happy... For me, the fact that teachers would not give points for late homework meant that the virtue of the work was in the time, not the doing. I only feel motivated after deadlines because I always fought HW..

  • To clarify a bit, the mock conversation starts out with "I've been trying to control you" and ends up with a different kind of passive aggression of sorts... it's like saying, "it's ok that I'm trying to control you now because people are trying to control me too" and I think it takes away from the argument you're validly making. I felt like I was totally absorbing the change in "voice" and attitude until the "lets do pointless stuff togather" part. Don't get me wrong the vid helped me a lot thx

  • "Leap of reason" awsome.
