Tumbleweeds are Russian Thistle which are attached to the ground by a single root The green bush is a Creosote Bush that blooms yellow flowers in the summer
@sgtshane Shane, I just got divorced almost 4 years ago, sold my home in houston, lost everything and starting over. Wanting to move to El Paso, love west texas, but thinking of moving to San Antonio because its not far from my kids. Need a new start, and I have alot of bad memories and years here in Houston. Its been rough and trying to find a career in my 30's and get my life back on track so I can be happy again. Whats your advice since youve been thru this
@stone985 well I was single for 30 years, I dated over 100 women, found them all to be selfish and self serving, then I met Bev who is very "Old School" and enjoys looking after her man, I don't have any kids though, so keep on trucking and hang in there.
Stumbled across your video lol. Was looking up Chicos Tacos for some reason and now I'm watching your vid lol. Glad to see you were back in El Paso, enjoying the Sun City once again! Good vid! :) Squince
You know, I've lived in Texas my whole life and I've never really missed it til now. I'm on vacation in orlando, florida and I miss my home. It's great in Florida in you love tropical weather and party things but I'm a layed back kind of guy. I'm from the Houston area and I miss my home state.
i miss my hometown....born and raised en el segundo barrio. Love chicos tacos and ciros. Moved to nebraska and now have my own family. we go to e.p.t at leaast every 2 yrs
Was that open in 79? I remember partying at Club 101 in the late 80s when it was still "behind" downtown in a rundown warehouse district, and it was "underground".
Anyway Shane, maybe you partied at the Tree Top, Waldo Peppers or The Place, or in Juarez at the Copa or Sarawak ( I may be mixing my decades here). Were you stationed at Ft Bliss??
Because of family (and Chicos) I return to El Paso at least twice a year. But the memories...
i had got that shirt only the night before i made the video..(My Nephew owns "Shananagan's" on Dyer)..I had never been there before. We were checking out the mexican band "Kinky" ...the only bar i remember from the old days was "The Place" "The Zoo" "Soul Power House #4" &"The ole Plantation" and "Disco Sagatario" in Juarez
Ahh thank you sgtshane i too used to live in El Paso about 10 years ago and miss it very much. Anyone going there should eat Chicos Tacos. Thanks I enjoy watching your videos. Take Care!
COOL 350 YOU Are a real racist...wow you know i've never been called a cracker ass...right on! but up here a cracker is a good thing we put cheese on them and eat them
moved to El Paso a year ago, Love it here...perfect weather, great people... unbelieveable food! Mexican food is sooo good! El Paso should be the windy city, not Chicago.
LOL -- lizard sh*t the size of cat crap and "sagebrush" that turns into tumbleweeds when it dies. Good stuff. Rock walls with wind-blown garbage accumulating next to them is what makes El Paso so unique!
I used to live in El Paso in the middle 70's. I came home (my husband and I were divorcing) to Ohio and never went back. I still miss El Paso. I used to live in an apartment on Magruder Street and shopped at the Piggly Wiggly. Thanks for your video.
a lot of people think el paso s**ks but I love it. Its the safest city in the nation. I also like it becuase its not to small not to big. the people here are nice so far. and the wild west texas desert sunset is gorgeous. i like this old west cowboy town.
Thanks for this video. I grew up there, and have no real reason to return, but do miss Chicos tacos and Charcoler hamburgers, this is the best way to revisit
WOW very wonderful video, thanks for posting it. I live in el paso and quite hontest I got bored of it. However I left town for just a few days and I missed the place.
my mom and dad met in el paso where they went to high school. they moved to edmonton in 1965. my maternal grandparents still live there. i last visited in 2004. i remember going to luby's with my grandparents when i was a kid and getting excited about arby's because edmonton didn't have arby's when i was a kid in the 70's. i remember visiting juarez when i was a kid. last time in 2004 we couldn't visit juarez because of the drug violence. thanks for the video.
I currently livein El Paso and I am 29 years old. Just thought it was strange how I stumbled upon your video. You must have left this city the year I was born! :) Glad that you enjoyed your visit back. The city has grown alot I'm sure since 1978!

Neat short video.
Shane the bush you showed is called creosote. It is what gives the desert the nice smell when it rains.
I live in El Paso.

I think Shane was looking for closure to a bad
time in his life and I think he found it on his return. I can relate to his situation as
we all must face our demons one day. He seems
like a stand up guy. I wish him luck. Mel
