  • i heart aikido

  • damn i wouldnt fuck with that guy

  • i cannot verify if this is goodaikido ro not but i can say some of the moevements were free and alive that is very nice to watch and its probably in accord tosomething right

  • nice koshinage in the beginning

  • @rodolphoarruda in aikido you should not use force therefore you should move into and nexto uke. but he doesnt do that here for some reason.

you cant drag uke to yourself in real life it wont work because he will be reluctant.. therefore you should use structural pivot instead by standing infront of uke instead of in his way.. like you should contact his legs and hips then use your center and arm

  • @TheRogueMonk tell me about it... I'm nidan. ;-)

  • @rodolphoarruda to which comment are you talking to?

  • exilent

  • Momentum and pain help the other person move.

  • Hey,

That's Danny Dinsbach you're practising with.

He also taught me some aikido techniques, many years ago when I was one of his Pencak silat aprentices. I'm also considering to pick up aikido class (again).

    Saludos,

  • Tauzokuoh

    i recomend AIKIDO

  • Hahah =p

I'm not sure if I want to do Aikido or Taekwondo =/

  • That would depend on what you want to do. :) Aikido is for more passive people, it trains you in various different ways, like flexibility and reaction, and not much strength, as it is not needed for aikido. Taekwondo is also good I guess, but I would not know as I have not tried it. :)

  • Bull.

"First, smash the eyes" - O Sensei on ikkyo

"In real combat, smash opponent's face full force" - O Sensei on irimi nage

His students went out to test their Aikido on gangs and bars, and he crippled and killed a number of people himself. He also broke his student's arm for not attacking sincerely.

Yoshinkan Aikido has uke (defender) initiating strikes in order to limit and control range of attacker's response.

Aikido is not passive, and having more strength is always useful.

  • @shihonage lol as you said bull.

where did you hear this nonsense

people say alot of things ... that is why you should not believe through words but by experience .. use your mind. not your ears only

  • @TheRogueMonk Where did I hear this "nonsense"? O Sensei's book, "Budo". Gozo Shioda (his uchi deshi, founder of Yoshinkan style)'s book "Aikido Shugyo".

Various historical sources on Ueshiba's biography. Yoshinkan Aikido technique reference. Finally, common sense. "Using my mind", as you say, I've sparred with people outside Aikido, and I see that Aikido's origins had a lot of strikes to openings, and that martial art can never be "passive" and effective at once.

    Do educate yourself.

  • @shihonage altough the roots of aikido lies in aikijujutsu which is a harmonic martial art .. going further back it was in essence jujutsu the art of technique ..

there are hints at openings and strikes in aikido but aikido itself is specializing on the harmonic part of those things.. that is why aikido is aikido because morihei saw a greater harmony in aikijujutsu and eventually channeled it into aikido

  • @TheRogueMonk You don't need to educate me. I seem to have a better grasp on history and origins of Aikido than you do. Once you catch up to its real history, as well as experience a real physical assault, we might speak the same language. Until then, you're the one floating in a land of fantasy and denial of documented fact.

  • @shihonage your too full of yourself ,perhaps your too good at aikido go do something harder , maybe then you will become humble

    then we can speak.

    so long.

    domo arrigato.

  • @TheRogueMonk What does humility have to do with fact? There are facts out there. Facts about O Sensei, Koichi Tohei , Gozo Shioda, who all took challengers. O Sensei injured his students, Tohei took on several Judoka and a fat British reporter, Shioda got into barfights to test his Aikido, and his a guy in the head with a bottle.

Reality does not agree with your fantasy. Don't try to pin this on me, because I didn't make any of this up. I have nothing more to say to you.

  • @shihonage what areyou concerned about really? you are one aperson you have in your power of doing what is right ... regardless of what others have done..

if you think that there is a better choice then that is your answer act on it.

that is what we are here for to keep spirit up and hone the way of harmony not the way of destruction , the creator o fthis world want creation and not destruction

  • Taekwondo is a good way to branch out into other martial arts, but it is mostly sport, so maybe you dont want to stick with JUST taekwondo
