Usually when you upgrade from 4 Gbs of RAM to 12, you have to update your OS before it will recognize that extra amount, depending on what OS your running and if it is 32 or 64 bit. Example - windows vista 32 bit can recognize 6 Gbs of RAM, 64 can recognize 8 Gbs of RAM. Windows 7 64 bit i think can run 12 Gbs of RAM. also if that didn't help, try upgrading you Power supply
