ALmost ALL the glee songs are going private. IS it just me, or is everyone experiencing this? PLEASE respond! I'm sooooo confused! MORE than HALF of the songs on my glee playlist are now private! Is it me??? I need help! I need my GLEE!!! I LOOOOVEEE THIS SONG BTW! But HELP!

This is the kind of music Mercedes needs to sing. Not all those crazy belting notes all over the place and runs in places that don't need to be there. This really showcases her talent.
i really think people wouldn't argue that much about Rachel if it was Santana or Brittany who were wanting the spotlight instead of Mercedes. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but everybody gets on their side when it's them.

@KayQuarius actually Rachel was always bullied...made fun of, put down in some way cuz she was a push over and still is. All three girls need attitude adjustments though

Forget Mercedes, yes, we know shes not a dancer, but have also established shes a complete idiot in the sense that she thinks shes great and deserves everything. She should feel lucky she gets all the booming high notes in the songs, whereas someone else could do it. Also i hate Rachel, if she wasnt on glee, i would happy to be honest :3
I think ppl shouldn't compare. Rachel &Mercedes are both great singers. They are both such powerhouses &honestly Mercedes killed it when she sang this song. I love her rendition of it and I would love to see Mercedes solo for a competition for a change but I didn't like her character in this episode at all. She seem like she was being too much of a diva. She had a point that Rachel does get majority of the solos but she didn't have to go about it the way she did.
I don't get why everyone is calling her lazy just for one episode. Who auditioned for the solo in season 2? Who sung at their benefit concert? Who was the one that offered to play a transsexual man when no one else would? Mercedes! That's not working hard? She has always been seen dancing in the other performances but in this episode she just wasn't feeling good. Hasn't anybody ever just not feel well enough to work? Hasn't anyone ever been late for school at least once? Yeah! we all have.

Yes Mercedes Has a Great Voice, but she needs to stop complaining all the time about not getting any solo and start WORKING for it!! She even said that she didnt practice before singing in "Funeral"! Rachel work her ass off to be on the spotlight! being in the show meand a shot at NYADA that means a shot to be a broadway star! She even agreed to share the role while Mercedes no!!
I think Mercedes is right about wanting more stage time but she goes about it in a completly wrong way. Like on any team the coach (Mr. Shue) rewards those who work hard. Rachel devotes her life to her singing. On the other hand, Mercedes expects things to be handed to her, and when they're not, all she does is complain.

so at first i was team rachel, but see, im in band. and i was second chair for 3 years. then i got moved down to sixth because of one test. SIXTH. i got so pissed, then worked uber hard, and now im back on second chair (although i still aim to be first soon). so now i DEFINITLEY see mercedes' point of not getting the spotlight her talent deserves. you go mercedes.
I'm sorry I cannot agree with people saying Mercedes overreacted. That is just silly. She finally stood up for herself, and how she acted toward Rachel at some points were wrong, but can you blame her? Rachel was pretty much condescending during this whole episode. (Oh and overreacting is sending some to a crack house because you were afraid they would still your spotlight)

People exonerate two series' worth of Rachel's horrible, horrible character, and then Mercedes stands up for herself- admittedly in a manner considerably more strident and nasty than was perhaps necessary- and everyone kicks up a shitstorm.
i agree she probably deserves better songs and such but she doesnt have to be so arragent about it, i mean grow up and deal with itt...... and that song they sung to her fit perfectly....
Maria is a triple thret. Mercedes, can sing. She can't act all that well, and she sure as hell can't dance. Rachel? She's a triple thret. She is fantastic at everything in the arts world. Lea is amazing, and still amazes me every time she opens her mouth. Also, Rachel needed Maria to even have a shot at getting into NYADA. Mercedes has never once expressed any interest in getting into an Arts school.
@mad4twilight97 Although I agree with some of your points, I completely disagree with the idea that Mercedes should have given up her opportunity to give Rachel a chance to get into NYADA. In what way should Rachel's future be Mercedes' concern? It's RACHEL'S fault she failed so catastrophically to prepare for what she claims to have wanted since she was four; if Rachel wanted it as much as she claims, she'd have shut her mouth and done WORK to get it, rather than clutching at straws.
I think mercsades should have gotten the part. but i like rachel better. they should let others sing too besides just 5 people. I think this season's songs should go to the singers that are graduating on glee.
I don't think Mercedes was right for the part of Maria anyway Rachel was better for the part. Although I do love Mercedes voice, especially in this song
This song isn't about her audition. It's about her life, not everything is one dimensional in this show. This song is amazing for her, it really moved me. It made me love Mercedes.

I don't feel like this is a whose better contest, their both great and we all know it, but this is "Glee" not "The Rachel Berry Experience". Rachel gets damn near everything and for a group that is supposed to support the underdog alot of them get overlooked and for the most part the whole issue is sloppily resolved as "lets do whats best for the group"(even though that always benefits Rachel).Glee is supposed to be a place where ALL of them can shine and i just want to see that happen

Mercades is AMAZING singer! I think she did the right thihnk about standing up to Mr. Shoester (how I spell his name) and Mr. Shoester kicked her out. i think that it was very obvious that someone from new directions would leave and join shelby's glee club, and it was a mistake that the writers did it. i think they should have taken someone new, and show us that they are creative. i suppose and i hope that mercedes would be back at glee club soon.. it is just not good to put her in shelby's club for my opinion.
all these comments about her being a diva, her character has waited 2 years for a solo.. and never got one because that 'ass kissing' rachael as mercedez said, so good on her :p
I hate how there are a lot of other talented people in Glee and yet Rachel and Finn get the spot light. The Warblers were kind enough to vote on Kurt being apart of a duet. But Mr Schue relying on Rachel and Finn just because he wants to win? Just grr. It'd be nice to have Artie or Mercedes or Puck or even Quinn do some main singing.
@lillian90005 Finn getting the spotlight? That's not even true, his 'spotlight' has severely decreased. He barely sings anymore unless it's just for like five or so seconds. If anything it's more or less Rachel & Blaine at the moment. Don't get me wrong, Darren Criss is a huge inspiration and I love him but it's true. And Rachel, well she is the original main character so yeah.
@lillian90005 - Rachel and Finn was the start of this show. W/O them this whole storyline won't go anywhere. So stop complaining. The rest do get their spotlight, but we are focusing mostly now with Rachel, Finn and Kurt as they are leaving the show. -Thanks!

Does anyone feel like this song is actually talking more about Kurt and Blaine's relationship? Kurt is technically living under Blaine's spotlight, even though Blaine tries his best to share it.

Although I am very moved by Mercedes' song, I was still rooting for Rachel. It's not that I like her better, I think they equally have outstanding voices. I just believe that Rachel is more of the Broadway musical type, and Mercedes is more soul. Therefore Rachel would be good for Maria, but if Mercedes tried out for a character that fit her better I think that she would get the part.

@Hudstahh93xoxo Rachel isn't getting solos because of her personality, but because of her voice. There are so many ways to compare voices. Like Emma said, Rachel and Mercedes are both amazing, but very different. Rachel has a pure, perfect pitch, and is great for singing very high notes. Mercedes has a powerful black voice and she is great at belting out very long notes. They are both great in their own ways. I wish people would stop comparing them.

Yes Mercedes Has a Great Voice, but she needs to stop complaining all the time about not getting any solo and start WORKING for it!! She even said that she didnt practice before singing in "Funeral"! Rachel work her ass off to be on the spotlight! being in the show meand a shot at NYADA that means a shot to be a broadway star! She even agreed to share the role while Mercedes no!!

I think Mercedes is right about wanting more stage time but she goes about it in a completly wrong way. Like on any team the coach (Mr. Shue) rewards those who work hard. Rachel devotes her life to her singing. On the other hand, Mercedes expects things to be handed to her, and when they're not, all she does is complain.

so at first i was team rachel, but see, im in band. and i was second chair for 3 years. then i got moved down to sixth because of one test. SIXTH. i got so pissed, then worked uber hard, and now im back on second chair (although i still aim to be first soon). so now i DEFINITLEY see mercedes' point of not getting the spotlight her talent deserves. you go mercedes.

I'm sorry I cannot agree with people saying Mercedes overreacted. That is just silly. She finally stood up for herself, and how she acted toward Rachel at some points were wrong, but can you blame her? Rachel was pretty much condescending during this whole episode. (Oh and overreacting is sending some to a crack house because you were afraid they would still your spotlight)

Maria is a triple thret. Mercedes, can sing. She can't act all that well, and she sure as hell can't dance. Rachel? She's a triple thret. She is fantastic at everything in the arts world. Lea is amazing, and still amazes me every time she opens her mouth. Also, Rachel needed Maria to even have a shot at getting into NYADA. Mercedes has never once expressed any interest in getting into an Arts school.
So back off Rach.

In what way should Rachel's future be Mercedes' concern? It's RACHEL'S fault she failed so catastrophically to prepare for what she claims to have wanted since she was four; if Rachel wanted it as much as she claims, she'd have shut her mouth and done WORK to get it, rather than clutching at straws.

I don't feel like this is a whose better contest, their both great and we all know it, but this is "Glee" not "The Rachel Berry Experience". Rachel gets damn near everything and for a group that is supposed to support the underdog alot of them get overlooked and for the most part the whole issue is sloppily resolved as "lets do whats best for the group"(even though that always benefits Rachel).Glee is supposed to be a place where ALL of them can shine and i just want to see that happen

Mercades is AMAZING singer! I think she did the right thihnk about standing up to Mr. Shoester (how I spell his name) and Mr. Shoester kicked her out. He always talked about its okay if you lose if you had fun. BUT KNOW HE'S BEING SO MEAN! Rachel may be a good singer but look at this song. i think that it was very obvious that someone from new directions would leave and join shelby's glee club, and it was a mistake that the writers did it. i think they should have taken someone new, and show us that they are creative. i suppose and i hope that mercedes would be back at glee club soon.. it is just not good to put her in shelby's club for my opinion.

I hate how there are a lot of other talented people in Glee and yet Rachel and Finn get the spot light. The Warblers were kind enough to vote on Kurt being apart of a duet. @lillian90005 Finn getting the spotlight? That's not even true, his 'spotlight' has severely decreased. He barely sings anymore unless it's just for like five or so seconds. If anything it's more or less Rachel & Blaine at the moment. Don't get me wrong, Darren Criss is a huge inspiration and I love him but it's true. And Rachel, well she is the original main character so yeah.

Although I am very moved by Mercedes' song, I was still rooting for Rachel. It's not that I like her better, I think they equally have outstanding voices. I just believe that Rachel is more of the Broadway musical type, and Mercedes is more soul. Therefore Rachel would be good for Maria, but if Mercedes tried out for a character that fit her better I think that she would get the part.

@Hudstahh93xoxo Rachel isn't getting solos because of her personality, but because of her voice. There are so many ways to compare voices. Like Emma said, Rachel and Mercedes are both amazing, but very different. Rachel has a pure, perfect pitch, and is great for singing very high notes. Mercedes has a powerful black voice and she is great at belting out very long notes. They are both great in their own ways. I wish people would stop comparing them.
