i'd say a UTG L96 cause they are really powerful 400+fps i think with .20 gram bb's you need to zero it out first and re-adjust the barrel spacers (get it from airsplat as they have loads of camo's)

Of course snpers are inportant, could a AEG shoot 250ft from a hill top and take out someone whilst not giving away where they are? No an AEG couldnt, plus sniping is fun and takes skill, rather then just holding down the trigger hoping to get a hit.

no they arent, a Tokyo Marui VSR G-SPEC can be tuned up to 210 m/s ... you wont get a AEG up at that speed/range, therefore the snipers make a big part of the game aswell

Yes you can... Beaverboy is right, why have a bolt-action 500 FPS rifle (note that at 99.9% of fields 500 FPS with .25s is the absolute limit for any gun) when you can have a semi-automatic AEG firing the same velocity. There are more upgrades available for AEGs as well. An AEG can very easily be much better than these sniper rifles. The only reason people get them is because of video games and movies that make snipers all bad ass, and they're a bit cheaper to upgrade.

Sniping like this is absolutely useless. He is not using cover or a ghillie suit, and anyone with an AEG could send a hail of plastic downrange and take him out. The proper way to snipe is with a well camouflaged ghillie suit on the outskirts of the playing field ambushing enemys from 200 feet away. The way this guy played defeated the purpose.

Snipers aren't for "direct support". That would be the designated marksman, and actually useful role in the world of airsoft. A sniper's job is to hide and relay enemy positions to their squad, so their squad can take out the enemy. If the sniper is seen, their only option is to run for their life, because tens of BBs per second versus one per two seconds is something called "outgunned".

There are plenty of upgrades, actually more upgrades, available for AEGs which can make it equal and surpass the performance of a springer.

There may be more upgrades for an AEG. Basically... the epitome of Airsoft gearboxes and performance is SYSTEMA gearboxes... and even then; they do not reach out to 300 feet. You would have to have a MUCH longer barrel, and even then you have to have more FPS; and how a gearbox system works it's very unstable to use 600 to 700 FPS in a AEG. You can't touch Full auto AT ALL.

A L96, or a BAR-10 can be upgraded with PDI parts; and it can surpass AEG's in accuracy and FPS.

Let me start. If you just looked at ASF you would know that barrel length means almost nothing at all. It has no visible effect on accuracy or range. Also, almost no field allows ANY gun, bolt action or not, to chrono over 500 FPS with .25s. If a gun is firing over 400 FPS with .25s it has to be semiauto or bolt action anyway. All the same tightness inner barrels and hopup systems are available for AEGs, so accuracy is equal.
