This is a good move. When you get in the mood for even more of a challenge, get on the ground and do some body lifts. Lie on your back, hold something like the frame of the cable machine seats or something like you are about to tricep press them, and lift your body off of the ground so that you are up in the air on your shoulderblades, with nothing else on the ground. Go up to a 90 degree, then arch your back until you gently brush the floor with your heels. Can be done with many variations!
Once you brush the ground, lift back up. What I'm describing is definitely more useful for athletes than bodybuilders, so I don't know if it has a place in your routines, but you do a lot of athletic stuff, so maybe you will have fun with it :)
You're right, wiuth legs apart, you dont have the momentum at the end of the movement that helps you bring the legs back up. With the legs spread apart, your definelty minimizing momentum.
I unfortunately can't do this in my doorway bar, and do not want to expose my crotch at the gym where it would be possible. I guess it could be done wearing pants... more of a 'confidence' move :)
I was hoping you'd continue making more vids. Always very impressive. I've never seen anyone perform this exact movement, but I'd bet it really hits the serratus, obliques, abs, the whole core section. I've seen all your vids...your body is beyond excellent!
Looks like a great a workout .. planning on adding this to my routine

its easier with the legs apart you tools, most progressions to hard bodyweight moves like that involve straddles like that with the legs
stevophil 3 years ago
Actually I find with the legs spread alot more difficult. I can do almost double the reps with legs together.
Try it and let me know what you think.

You could have just told him to do a Dragon Flag, which is the name of the exercise.

GoodbyeMarco 3 years ago
yes, they are supposed to be with legs together and arms perfectly straight.
Valorousness 3 years ago
no i can do them legs together...i cant do them legs apart, it might jsut be a flexibility issue, but for me its way harder
cricketpoof 3 years ago
legs apart would be harder kos together all the weight is in one place legs apart is different
