  • They are good actors but not good puppeteers. You can see the emotion on their faces but not on their puppets.

  • I love the one person at the end.

    "Yay..."

  • You guys, it's only one song, the rest is unchanged. (fine, loud as the hell you want is cut, but they didn't change it.) CALM DOWN

  • @supersinger9000 Also, my girfriend who lives in Canada is cut, and the whole show has been edited to take out most of the swear words and drug references. It's pretty bad.

  • @supersinger9000 They also cut the bad idea bear hang yourself lines

  • *ruining

  • Stop running the good song

  • <|3

  • Although a school edition of Avenue Q is really silly, I thought it was pretty clever. :)

  • That was depressing

  • Imagine if the original ended this way...

Kate Monster: ALRIGHT FINE! How do I sign up?

Trekkie: First, you enter all your information, your likes and dislikes...

    XD

  • Do you know what a school friendly version of Avenue Q is called?

    Sesame Street.

  • Just because it's not exactly like the original doesn't mean it isn't good. If you didn't see Bradford put on the entire show then don't judge it. They were AMAZING and have an amazing theater group.

  • It may be well done, but that's a freaking joke.

  • Wow. Even though the actors are good, it tears apart the concept.

  • ... when am I meant to laugh??

anyway the whole hook with Avenue Q is that it is adult-orientated; a school edition takes away a lot of the meaning

  • What on earth do you guys not understand about SCHOOL EDITION?! I love Avenue Q's original version and ive seen it live, but this song works fine even though it's obviously not as good as The Internet is for Porn. Doesn't mean it sucks and deserves all the dislikes it has. The actors are good too.

  • I can't believe Kate agrees with him at the end.

  • I just joined Bradford theater, we're doing Guys and Dolls and The Phantom of the Opera this year. It's gonna be sweet.

  • To quote Doug "The Nostalgia Critic" Walker, this is NOT jumping the shark. Gonna repeat that: This is NOT jumping the shark, no, no, no. This is jumping the shark, coming back, shooting it in the balls, having sex with it, eating its flesh, consuming its soul, mounting its head on the wall, & then doing the same thing to 12 more fucking sharks just to be safe!"

  • While I didn't agree with the bowdlerization of this particular song, I did see this cast perform the entire show at Internationals. The cast was amazing, and the show was still just as funny.

  • The actors sing and act well and everything, but THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN!

    I still like it though.

  • First Rent: School addition... now this?

  • Can't wait for Book of Mormon School Edition!

  • @Jonahs13 Book of Mormon school edition, eh?

"Well, Eebowai means God, and Hasa Diga means I Hate You, so I guess in English it would be, I Hate You, God!"

    "HASA DIGA EEBOWAI!"

    "What?"

"When God hates you in the head..."

    "Hasa diga eebowai"

"hate God back like he is dead.

    "Hasa diga eebowai"

  • @Jonahs13 If you pray for a school edition, I'm sure heavenly father will make it happen...

  • uhm this isn't Avenue Q.

this is like teenage sesame street.

  • i like how at the end, all you hear is someone faintly say "yay..." thats how u know it sucked

  • @Zanks2 Actually this was a dress rehearsal. At the performance I saw, after this song, it felt like someone had shot me in the ear.

  • I hate it when they water down adult programs so that kids can do them....I'm sorry this is crap....

  • Its still kinda funny...... but come on. PORN.

  • Completely changed the message of the song...

  • I saw this cast!

  • i just love that trekkies voice comes from a skinny guy.

  • This is about making a version AVAILABLE for schools to perform. It is by no means a replacement for the original version of the show, which is also available to any group that wishes to license it. There are simply some groups that would not be able to produce the show in their community as written, so this gives them a chance to perform an author-approved version that is suitable for many more schools.

  • Saw this show at EdTA's Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE about two weeks ago. It was fantastic--the cast was professional-caliber and theaudience loved the School Edition. Co-creator Jeff Marx met with the cast after the show and shared some history of the material and advice--very cool experience.

  • The actors were good, but OH MY GOD WHAT DID THEY DO TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS?!??!?!?!?!?!?! That was so wrong on so many levels!!! THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Most silent I have ever heard an Avenue Q audience, BTW.

  • @WonderfulLizardOfOz There wasn't an audience, BTW.

  • I played Trekkie in this video and I will say that the changes were disappointing, but they weren't made to please people as much as the original they were made so that kids around the world could have the amazing opportunity I just had and that is just being a part of this amazing show. I just got back from the International Thespian Festival where we closed the World Premiere and everyone seemed to love it! Nothing else was changed much and I got the chance to meet Jeff Marx and he liked it.

  • @keane4655 Hey I saw it in Nebraska and understand why they had to change it. I thought overall the play was still just as hilarious. Maddie and everyone else did a wonderful job.

  • @keane4655 cooool Trecccieiieieiei

  • The satire of this show is that it's teaching about inappropriate themes in the style of the unoffensive children's show Sesame Street. Therefore, removing the inappropriate style of this show essentially removes the comedy from this show. Theatre is offensive sometimes... that dates back to Shakespeare, people need to deal with it.

  • Avenue Q should not be done by students. As a high school student myself, I would LOVE to have the opportunity to perform this show. But NOT in school, where we would have to perform some watered-down, hacked-to-bits, censored version of what is supposed to be a brilliant, hilarious show. If you're going to do Avenue Q, do Avenue Q. Not Avenue Q: Politically Correct Edition!, because there's truly no such thing!

  • Damn it, if you just cut the song and put in "Tear It Up, and Throw it Away!" in it's place, you would made this embarrassing 5 minutes of what was once a great and HONEST song into a 5 minutes of HILARIOUSNESS. You could have had Kate Monster receive a letter in the from Mrs. T and then find the court order along with it in another letter, and then had Nicky walk on stage to do "Tear it up".

THERE! I found a much funnier, and more dignified solution in place of this horrible idea.

  • I understand why they're trying to do this, but... the ENTIRE SHOW is "inappropriate", which is why it worked so brilliantly. I feel sorry for the creators who were forced to bowdlerize their own song, any future performers who will be obligated to perform this version, and any audience members who will be obligated to sit through it. Of all shows to warrant a "Jr." version (and there are several good examples), Avenue Q ISN'T IT.

  • I'm not too crazy about the idea of doing any amateur production of Avenue Q. It is very difficult to handle those puppets correctly, and, no offense to the actors who did a fine job vocally and acting wise, it's all very dead and dull when done by someone who isn't trained to do it. Watch a video of any professional production of Avenue Q. The puppets breathe and have life to them. Here, it's very, well, dead.

  • Still pefer the original version

  • eh...it's no "internet is for porn"....but obviously that can't be performed at a school. oh wait....NEITHER CAN JUST ABOUT EVERY PART OF AVENUE Q!!!!

  • Very well performed, but the whole idea of Avenue Q School Edition is terrible!

  • @fcphantom They should just restrict Avenue Q altogether!! They better not do this to Memphis in the future!! Am I the only one who's heard of Memphis?

  • @fcphantom The show really was great though; this was probably the worst song, but the rest of the show really does the original justice.

  • I like the tiny "yay" at the end

  • Interesting! Glad they provided an alternative! :)
