my husband knows better not to sleep if I'm in labor...lol.. it wouldn't happen. He was up the whole time i was in labor with my daughter because I squeezed the shit outta his hand every time i had a contraction.. no way he be sleeping through that lol
I'm sorry that you had to go through so much pain for so long. Even before I saw the ending I felt bad that you were awake and in pain, essentially alone.
I'm sorry your labour experience was unhappy. Mine was pretty comfortable. HARD WORK, but tolerable. Drug / medication free. I actually enjoyed it, despite the 20 mins or so of back labour.
What helped was that I worked out throughout my pregnancy and got lots of rest (I was unemployed! haha nothing else to do) and I laboured on an exercise ball for about 6hrs. Helped to open up my pelvis. I delivered inside of 20 mins after arriving at the hospital. I recommend it to all mommies to be!
Remember it well. Pain like you cannot imagine. And boy, does it get worse! Hour after agonizing hour. Makes no difference whether he's awake or not. It's not like it says in the books. You don't care who's awake or asleep. All you're aware of is the awful pain. You're only praying for it to end. The screaming will eventually wake him up. Get the epidural girls. (Holding the baby in your arms is wonderful beyond words, by the way.)
Wow u can really hear the change in the heartbeat during ur contration.I went natural but not by choice my labor was literally 2 hrs exactly my water broke at 10:19pm n I gave birth at 12"19 am.Congrats on the baby.
And I'm going to be going through this in 10 weeks...... :'( I am really not looking forward to it, honestly I am so worried about that!! And it was a little unthoughtful of your partner to be asleep! You must have the patience of a saint, if that were me and I were in that much pain I'd wake him up and make him feel my pain too! I think you coped well! And 35 hours?!?! Well done to you! Got some inspiration for 10 weeks time :D
Isn't it amazing if someone shoved baboo under my nails id be screaming my head off when we are in labor we get the worst pain and we just go into ourselves and deal with it. I spewed my meds up strait away and nurses said it'll be another 8 hours lol...no sleep that night for some crazy reason!!! >: (
I feel your pain, too... I was in labour for 33 hours five months ago- got no drugs, even though I really wanted an epidural. My husband left to go to work, and the nurses did not care much... So yes, labour sucks! The result is awesomw though... Congratulations, good job! :-)
What?! That is so unfair! You were going through all that pain, and he was sleeping?! Oh, I would be so pissed. If it were me, I would've been, "you either help me, or you can leave." I'm surprised that no awake person was in the room with you when you had those contractions. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
At least he's there with you lady... Consider yourself lucky....

Labor is the closest you will get to death without actually dying.
