Linnell's voice is a little like Ringo Starr's. Ringo had a hard time staying in key when performing live. In the studio they could re-do it as many times as possible, when it's live, nothing could be fixed.

I think Linnell's voice is just not suited to live performances. Flans sounds good live, but Linnell... doesn't. Maybe he's just trying to push the "odd Linnell TMBG voice" thing a bit far. Who knows? It's a great song regardless (Y)

To everyone saying how horrible this sounds, remember that the finished product that ends up on a CD usually takes days if not weeks of rerecording and tweaking. Making it sound like the album version every time is very difficult.

Even though I'm a TMBG fan, there's something feeble sounding of this performance. Perhaps it's because the accordion is much, much louder than both guitars combined and that Linnell's vocals are given too much reverb.
