For one the insults don't make anyone's statements more valid. Crocop has knocked out a who's who of fighters and has few pride loses three of which were against Hunt, Fedor, and big Nog. Does Crocop need to train with a cage and improve submissions and defence skills yes for sure. However you cannot deny his striking abilities or his ability to take punches. He will provide matchup problems for even the top rated fighters but will not get a title till he becomes more well rounded.
I think Mirko is the most focused, strategic, and technically proficient fighter today. His only weakness is on the mat; he is a second or third class grappler. However, because of his strength and skills, nobody get him down to the mat. He even implicitly admits how weak his wrestling skills are by the way he often lets his opponent get up, rather than going to the mat to wrestle him. All in all though, he is one of the best, if not the best, around.
