It is tradition before Russian launches to place flowers at the graves of Sergei Korolev (founder of the Soviet space program) as well as Vladimir Komarov, Georgi Dobrovolski, Vladislav Volkov, Viktor Patsayev, and Yuri Gagarin (early Soviet cosmonauts who died in the line of duty).
