  • CONGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DRC

  • at least they're trying! who cares if it's not traditionally Nigerian or igbo for that matter? they are doing something good so it doesn't matter!

  • THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VIDEO TITLE. IT HAPPENS TO BE WHAT THE EVENT IS ABOUT AND THE TITLE FOR THE VIDEO FOR THAT EVENT. PEEPS NEED TO EVALUATE BEFORE RUNNING THEIR MOUTH. AM JUST SAYING.

  • @ otuuakaa, I m very Igbo and my dear, ds song is so nt Igbo in any form or way, neither r d dance steps!!!!

  • very nice....I love to see africans I myself am an african american seeking to learn more about my past.

  • You must understand igbo language in order to appreciate the music to be an igbo music. Remember the Aro people otherwise called the igbos are pre-congo and many of their intonation and dialects sound like the congo languages. therefore to appreciate this music to be an igbo music you must command the igbo language.diversity. It is an igbo music not soukous music

  • they lack so energy

  • i love yall no matter what people say ,im igbo and also african .please yall can dance to what ever african music yall like to perform with ,every igbo person in igbo land has been playing makosa and they has been dancing to it .nothing wrong if they are performing africa music .i love their ukwu and waist shaking, man . this girls are sexy and pretty as hell .ba i love the wya you move your body .

  • Ok. Everyone has a problem with this being congo music but not igbo. From all of these comment like most of them, we know already, we dont need you to come and say it. You could understand it's congo music. If you gotta problem with this, then go to another video with nigerian music and nigerian dancing. Thank You.

  • This is Makosa, so re-title your video. i thought you guys could have done more on the dancing though. next time, find a choreographer or a teacher. good job. keep dancing ladies.

  • Actually I will NOT retitle this video. For all of those people out there please read the title clearly. It says Igbo Dance Competition. Is it my fault that these girls decided to do Makossa for the competition? No that's not my fault. If you want PURE IGBO go check out video 4 and 4.5. We won anyways. Thank you

  • @lovea218 It is not even Makossa,. The music is from Zaire and the song in particular is the dance part of either the song "Respect" or "Longitima Skol", it is by Koffi Olomide. And no, do not refile the title. This all black heritage, why all the divisiveness. The Igbo girls danced brilliantly. My only complaint is that you should not have cut it so short... you should have posted the entire song..Oh the girls do look beautiful, can I have some phone numbers??

  • Afrika everywhere, don't fight for anything but mutual understanding. Ask for knowledge or the solving of misunderstandings instead of atacking one-another, pleace.

Lovea218 uploaded this Igbo-competition, and a group did some Makossa in the Igbo-competition. Thats all thereis to it. In the meanwhile you argue on this subject, European compagnies are soiling your rainforest with oil, killing your kids in cocoa-plantations Korea and China os bying up hudge areas and too much more...

  • @bevulus Wow. it was an Igbo dance competition according to the video. Doesn't actually mean that the dance was an Igbo dance. People can be so ignorant.

  • I like the first girl style!

  • sexy girls

  • THIS NOT IGBO MUSIC PLS.

Shame on the person or persons who wrote the title of this video.

When did makossa become an Igbo dance?

THIS IS NOT AN IGBO DANCE.THIS IS MAKOSSA.CONGO AND CAMEROUN.

Igbos doesn`t shout like a watchdog in their traditional music.

Please put the correct title in your next post.

THIS MUSIC IS OKAY,THE GIRLS DANCED VERY WELL.

BUT THE TITLE IS A SLAP ON OUR PEOPLES` FACE.

  • Usually I don't reply to comments because they are not that important, but I can not let this go. How DARE you insinuate that I would slap my own people in the face. As you can tell by the OTHER videos there was an Igbo Dance Competition on this day. This group entered the competition and DID this dance. Is it my fault they didn't dance? NOOOOOO. As you can see my group in #4 danced to traditional music and won. Check the information next time.

  • Mate, you'll be suprised at the similarities between some african cultures...do not be quick to claim it as makossa..In latin america they call it something else :-)

  • @caddle20 First, Who is your people? Second, who said this is Igbo music? Did you read ANYwhere where it said that Igbo music was playing? You sound stupid. Good day.

  • @caddle20

you gotta be a real dumb ass to miss igbo DANCE COMPETITION..

so what ? if Jamaicans have a Jamaican dance competition and use a Hiphop track.. they are insulting african americans ?

  • yes congolese music for real but maybe nigerian dancers.

  • Some of you people are making this too difficult.

If you watch the next video of them they dance to Igbo music. Sometimes with dance groups they use another song to bring them out onto the dance floor.

  • I'm sorry, but there is nothing to fix. It WAS an Igbo competition and this is the song they choose to use.

  • That is not igbo, it is from Congo. You shouls fix that...

  • What song is this?

  • its by koffi Olomide Danger De Mort

  • Thankyou.

  • This is a creative blend of our African cultures.

Makoussa and Ikebe dance of Igbo land Nigeria.

    Igbo ekene mu unu...!!!!

Chei, unu ano zi kwa ya!!

  • ok first of all to all you negative ppl commenting on our group, you need to stop talking all your b.s, this was our 1st yr, together as a group and in the competition we were beginners, and yes we know that we had some mistakes and that we didnt really follow the igbo instrcution w/having makossa in our song but at least we tried and we want to embrace the culture so yall shoud applaud us for trying.& to username nnaamen it was not a publicity stunt so shutup

  • My dear u don't owe nobody apology. Keep up the good work. I love ur styles. Just remember that in every twelve, there must be a Judas (negative people; u can never please them, not even with perfection. God bless all the groups amen

  • To everyone who doesn't know, this obviously an introduction to the next video.

  • But people remember it was clearly called Igbo Dance Competition!

  • gr8 support igbos

  • Zero Igbo in this video. Publicity stunt.

  • this is more like makossa. not igbo.

  • igbo qen

  • I understand your comments. The truth is this is not my group just the people that performed at the Igbo day competition. I also tagged it as Makossa dance...they are just Igbo so I'm sorry if you were confused.

  • you are write it should be igbo song because they are igbo. igbo kwenu!!!

  • WTF.??.. This is not Igbo song..

  • this is Soukous music

  • sacuse was the type.

  • They danced to igbo music in video number 3

  • dat song isn't igbo, they shud've danced to igbo music

  • does it matter dey showin der african american pride

  • They africans, not african-americans, but i understand what you mean, it doesn't matter if they are dancing in igbo or makossa song as long as it's an african dance, it's good.

  • well, i thought it was just me that noticed they aint dancing to igbo music..its all about igbo music...Igbo Kwenu
