  • 1965?

  • I grew up to this dude on the radio. Some other great voices I admired also were. Tommy Hunt (Human) Chuck jackson (I Don't Wanna Cry) and Walter Jackson, Toussait McCall. If you like old R&B, these guys are on youtube. Treat yourself.

  • Bought this CD on Amazon. So many songs to reminisce.

He had such a range in that voice. He wasn't given the credit or air- time he deserved.

  • Johnny was Tom Jones main influence, it is so obvious when you hear this song.

  • this song is so beautiful

  • Bless Johnny Adams. these uniquely timeless contributions to the indomitable mosaic of human expression... Courage, compassion and loves immortal soul.

  • This is real Soul, this touched my Soul..

  • One of my top 5 singers of all time. Give him a great song like 'Reconsider Me', he would own it. Congratulations on your Grandpa Miss Sydnie. What a voice.

  • I saw this great man years ago with another local New Orleans artist names Snooks Eaglin at Rock and Bowl. It was a night I will never forget.

  • Back in the 60s, this song was covered by a white guy named Narvelle Phelts (or something like that), and no one heard Johnny Adams sing it. Fortunately, my best friend was a black guy who knew his popular music, and he gave me an education.

  • @misssydnieishot glad you found us sydnie :)

  • I never heard of this guy til 2011; what a FANTASTIC, FABULOUS singer.

  • Awesome..

  • I am in a very reflective mood tonight, and songs like this really sound good. Thanks for sharing it.

  • Johnny Adams was a singer that will live on through his music - this was a guy that sang through his heart!

  • Johnny Adams is the Man, And although Tom Jones sounds like him I don't think Tom can hit the falsetto the way Mr. Adams does in " Reconsider Me".

  • Thank you for posting this soulful song.

  • He's a Baton Rouge Louisiana Native....

  • I grow up with this music and still get the chils, with all the years passing by and al kinds of music,THIS IS STILL THE MUSIC FOR ME EVER!!!

  • The first time I took my brother to see Johnny live , he said. "If this guy's so great, why is he doing Tom Jones covers?' Then I explained that Tom Jones was doing Johnny Adams covers. The greatest voice to ever come out of New Orleans.

  • Fantastic song. I found Johnny after watching an interview on youtube with Aussie music great Jimmy Barnes.

His recent album The Rythym and the Blues features this song Reconsider Me and he encourages people to research the original artists..which I have done to my delight. search Jimmy Barnes The Rythym and the Blues on you tube.

  • incredible artist and extraordinary and powerfull voice..

  • If there was any justice in this world, Johnny Adams would have been a star!!
