Walt Disney made it in the form of cubes - mooving cubes. Body of anything is transformed into cubes etc. A system to make mooving objects into static like sculpture or cartoon - disney post art animation. However for 2 hours and prepared mesh of metal or iron threads is perfect about skill opportunities of person who made this. Today art is cinema and TV. . New art is old art so I like this video.
My asshole, bullshitting cousin is an artist specialising in conceptual, 3-D works.
There was great controversy over his College graduation piece- a series of naked human torsos arranged in improbable & intimate ways (having sex, giving birth etc). Everyone thought they were fantastically well-made, until the College discovered they were unclaimed Asian road-accident victims, ‘preserved’ & shipped over.
After a week they began to decay, filling the gallery with flies & a vile stench.
I'm looking to create a sculpture like that, but I haven't the slightest idea how. How did the artist make the mesh like that? How does he keep the clay from drying/cracking?
I live in Brazil, I`ve been studying hard but I can`t master the human anatomy. Any hint how could I improve my technique? Thanks a lot! Living model is realy necessary?
that's amazing but i don't think it's really hard because he had the armiture all set up details and stuff besides he had his model soo maybe almost hard but not that hard...
Actually i think they screened the model on her behalf because no one wants to be naked in front of a random crowd of people in some gallery for several hours straight.... because logically if the gallery was afraid of nudity they wouldn't hire the artist to do the sculpture
I was wondering...usually the mud clay has to stay up wet so it would harden to a rock...so is it the usual mud clay or something more fancy???? and what kind stuff do you pur in the end on your sculpture ( i mean not necesery on this vid ) i really would like to know couz now i feel like i donno nothin about sculpting...
i am a sculpture student.. and i must say even if the idea is very beautiful, the event isint that much of an amaizing thing. the live part is actually ver much easy since its just putting some clay on the conssturction and then smoothing it; the details is the deal in this time. But for the construction, now that was very beautiful. it must've taken a lot a time but it is almost a work of its own. but as a said the live event part wasn't that satisfying. the construction is the real deal.
i agree he already had a pose he just had to stick the clay smooth it and ad some details and he is done... i think this work taked way longer then 2 hours... but i don't know so much about sculpture cause i'm a drawer ^^ i whis to learn i thought maybe learn it myself :)
I hate Armatures when you're in the mood to sculpt, they can take longer than the Scullpture, I'm starting an Armature business, instead of a Studio lol-
Sclunger, my comment was intended to be taken more seriously you know. My point was that I see clay as the equivalent of an artist painting with oils or acrylics as opposed to using water colour (the latter is less forgiving). You can add and take away using clay, but to carve stone if you make a mistake there may be no way to compensate or to make an appropriate adjustment for such an error of judgement.
Regarding the use of diamond, coal would be more appropriate for obvious reasons.

when stating that the sculpture took 2 hours, surely you must work in everything and not only calculate the time putting on the clay. Overall- very nicely done. It is beautifull.
How does that mesh stick together like that. I would like to see how you built that. Even though the results are quite stunning, I liked it before you put all that clay on there.
Just my two cents. thats all. How about a man next?
Beautiful and inspiring work man. I'll check out your website. I'm a 3D person really getting interested in traditional media sculpting because of things like this. I am extremely curious about how you built your wire frame mesh.
well great job! but i gotta say KUDOS! to the armature could never had don't it if it wasn't for a fantastic fully detailed armature great job there:) how long did that take to make hehe!
I disagree. I feel it only amplifies the beauty. Many people can turn out such beautiful pieces, but knowing the speed with which he was able to do it makes it more impressive. That's me anyway.
(I think you are entitled to your opinion, but here is some food for thought:)
Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Mendelssohn's Concerto in E Minor both took around six years to create. If I had to include time as a factor in artistic creation I would prefer to know that an absolute unmitigated genius had taken half a decade out of his life for a work of art, rather than just a few minutes.
All your work is very impressive. It's very refreshing to find a talented artist.
I really like "death of the enemy" It is very hard to make a difficult subject look beautiful, it would be the kind of thing I'd be interested in doing had I continued my art education.
If you are using water clay, try making the figure without an armature, just build up your form, making sure to prop up anything that's slumping. When you are about halfway done, slice it in half, scoop out the insides and stuff with paper towels. Then
score and moisten the 2 sections really well and stick everything back together, make sure you have a vent hole. Armatures can be a real problem with water clay. This guy is working with oil clay -Chavant, maybe?
how do you go about meshing wire frame of the body. It looked complex however neatly wired together. And what kind of clay are you using and how will you go about casting it? in pieces maybe?? Very good work!
I love your work. I think putting on the clay and shaping it into something beautiful would be the easy part. Creating the mesh to put the clay on, another story.
