  • What kind of clay is that?

  • I liked it as mesh!

  • Walt Disney made it in the form of cubes - mooving cubes. Body of anything is transformed into cubes etc. A system to make mooving objects into static like sculpture or cartoon - disney post art animation. However for 2 hours and prepared mesh of metal or iron threads is perfect about skill opportunities of person who made this. Today art is cinema and TV. . New art is old art so I like this video.

  • Wonderful work! Is that oil based clay?

  • youtube search 'karen grigorian portfolio' for the complete audiovisual experience

  • Could you explain the the making of the mesh stucture as the base of the sculpture?

  • @SuperTruth77

    Holy shit are you serious?

  • My asshole, bullshitting cousin is an artist specialising in conceptual, 3-D works.

There was great controversy over his College graduation piece- a series of naked human torsos arranged in improbable & intimate ways (having sex, giving birth etc). Everyone thought they were fantastically well-made, until the College discovered they were unclaimed Asian road-accident victims, ‘preserved’ & shipped over.

After a week they began to decay, filling the gallery with flies & a vile stench.

  • this is absolute bullshit...days of work went into creating the mesh...this is just

covering a pre manufactured pattern...very unimpressive

Harry Johnson, the fastest sculptor in the world can start from scratch and do better.

Weld the armature, build a wire shape and cover it....

  • Wonderfull Result...... :) Very Artistic

  • 0.57- Is that mod mesh???

  • I'm looking to create a sculpture like that, but I haven't the slightest idea how. How did the artist make the mesh like that? How does he keep the clay from drying/cracking?

  • Espetacular!

Já pessarma este cara no Carnaval!!

    Então chegou a hora!1

  • Espetacular!

  • me pregunto que se necesita saber para hacer este tipo de esculturas....mmmmm.....

  • wath type of armature you using and kind of clay nice figure

  • I live in Brazil, I`ve been studying hard but I can`t master the human anatomy. Any hint how could I improve my technique? Thanks a lot! Living model is realy necessary?

  • that's amazing but i don't think it's really hard because he had the armiture all set up details and stuff besides he had his model soo maybe almost hard but not that hard...

  • How did 22 people not like this?

  • I don't care that she isn't real. That's still a great body and I'm still gonna jerk off to it! :D

  • from 2:18, the model looks bored, shes dancing or what

  • What is the material used for the sculpture?

  • That was one cool armature, she looks great.

  • How do they make this sturdy? Is it fired? Raw clay is fragile, what happens to the metal inside?

  • 5★★★★★

  • its a flat peice of metal/that hes using

  • looks pritty much like a unused credit card hes using to shape it but who knows.

  • looks like he has a rib tool. Thats what we use in ceramics class.

  • They have the screen up not because it is the US but because the girl is under aged. jt

  • what tool is he using?

  • Must be USA as you can carry a gun but a naked woman must be screened to protect the audience...

They may end up in HELL....

  • yeah its backwards and stupidly based on religion here

  • Actually i think they screened the model on her behalf because no one wants to be naked in front of a random crowd of people in some gallery for several hours straight.... because logically if the gallery was afraid of nudity they wouldn't hire the artist to do the sculpture

  • dis inspired me alot thanks for posting!

  • wow that must cost a furtune if you were ton sale it.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • I didn't know they used a frame. I thought they used a block and either chipped away unwanted pieces or removed bits of clay and whatnot.

  • I was wondering...usually the mud clay has to stay up wet so it would harden to a rock...so is it the usual mud clay or something more fancy???? and what kind stuff do you pur in the end on your sculpture ( i mean not necesery on this vid ) i really would like to know couz now i feel like i donno nothin about sculpting...

  • and?

  • i am a sculpture student.. and i must say even if the idea is very beautiful, the event isint that much of an amaizing thing. the live part is actually ver much easy since its just putting some clay on the conssturction and then smoothing it; the details is the deal in this time. But for the construction, now that was very beautiful. it must've taken a lot a time but it is almost a work of its own. but as a said the live event part wasn't that satisfying. the construction is the real deal.

  • i agree he already had a pose he just had to stick the clay smooth it and ad some details and he is done... i think this work taked way longer then 2 hours... but i don't know so much about sculpture cause i'm a drawer ^^ i whis to learn i thought maybe learn it myself :)

  • Philippe is amazing no doubt

  • Philippe Faraut still seems to be the best on youtube-

  • I hate Armatures when you're in the mood to sculpt, they can take longer than the Scullpture, I'm starting an Armature business, instead of a Studio lol-

  • beautiful!!!

  • He did that in two hours. That's impressive. I wonder how long the wire mesh took.

  • what will he do with it when its finished?

  • i would place it in my sleeproom!!

  • That must be soo boring... -.-

  • Stupid

  • That is brilliant... beautifull.

  • show off

  • what material did you use i need to know i cando the same easily

  • where, in WOW?

  • lol

  • look like nylon chicken wire and glay.

  • looks like alot of fun

  • a man who does that is just sexy...cant imagine how much exploration you had to do with women to make the sculpture with such detail haha

  • i wanna see the real thing, behind the curtain!

  • Now I want to see you carve one out of stone. ;)

  • I wanna see him carve something out of a block of diamond.

  • Sclunger, my comment was intended to be taken more seriously you know. My point was that I see clay as the equivalent of an artist painting with oils or acrylics as opposed to using water colour (the latter is less forgiving). You can add and take away using clay, but to carve stone if you make a mistake there may be no way to compensate or to make an appropriate adjustment for such an error of judgement.

Regarding the use of diamond, coal would be more appropriate for obvious reasons.

  • Ooh sorry. I see what you mean, it would take way more patience and precision to carve something out of stone. But still, diamond would be cool too.

  • que hermoso ¡¡¡ yo tb quiero ser escultor .

  • omg 6-10 was my birthday! awesome! i cant believe sumthig so amazing was made on my birthday! i love it!

  • ... what about you, human life.

  • A true artist...

  • Incredible....you are so lucky to have this "eye" and a natural talent.

  • magnifique

  • Two hours? Hah!!And the armature?

  • lol

  • Good vids. as always! Check out my channel for some new fx sculptures and other stuff...

  • This is very beautiful! Truly stunning.

What song is this, by the way? Haha. XP

  • I want it before the clay was applied to it. The wire "skeleton" was beautiful!

  • Work very beautiful

    Often stopped here

    This work in my Favorites

I hope your visit to my page

  • How do you make the armature?

  • I use copper wire, but my things are much smaller than his.

  • is there a method to the way in which the clay is applied? in terms of how the musculature will look?

  • your work is beautiful.

of course i am curious about the media you used.

the wire framing must have been difficult to construct.

please feel free to share your technique.

    great work.

  • Bernini wannabe...

  • very nice!

  • verry nice and beutiful

but i wish to see how you've made the mesh

  • very beautifuul work , you very good

    bravo

  • what is the name of the song?

  • it's my brothers music george cochrane

  • its very cool n the vid 2 , 5 stars

  • do you smooth it all over at the end or are the rough bits left?...nice work by the way

  • you have to keep the clay moist or it will crack because of the rigid armature

  • you are right thanks for answering

  • i think the artist himself knows what he's doing :p

  • when stating that the sculpture took 2 hours, surely you must work in everything and not only calculate the time putting on the clay. Overall- very nicely done. It is beautifull.

  • you did that in 2 hours???

  • How does that mesh stick together like that. I would like to see how you built that. Even though the results are quite stunning, I liked it before you put all that clay on there.

Just my two cents. thats all. How about a man next?

  • a man is on the way

  • I too was impressed with the frame. Art in itself in my oppinion. Would like one for my place.

  • I am just currious if and how tou could burn the sculpture. The wire frame mesh would melt, would it not?

  • Beautiful and inspiring work man. I'll check out your website. I'm a 3D person really getting interested in traditional media sculpting because of things like this. I am extremely curious about how you built your wire frame mesh.

  • frozen music....beautiful....

  • I liked the wire armature. The way you could see thru it.

    Nice work.

  • just amazing! especially d pose u chose brings out real beauty of a woman! ur vision s fantastic! keeep doin mor of it!! al d best!

  • well great job! but i gotta say KUDOS! to the armature could never had don't it if it wasn't for a fantastic fully detailed armature great job there:) how long did that take to make hehe!

  • Nice work, I'll continue to sculpt every day.

    Tony Merrithew~

  • what fun!!!!! terrific!!!

  • Beautiful work. Do you have her phone number?

  • 2 hours - sure but the metal frame would have taken weeks.

the time it took to do is just a distraction to the beauty of the art.

  • I disagree. I feel it only amplifies the beauty. Many people can turn out such beautiful pieces, but knowing the speed with which he was able to do it makes it more impressive. That's me anyway.

  • (I think you are entitled to your opinion, but here is some food for thought:)

Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Mendelssohn's Concerto in E Minor both took around six years to create. If I had to include time as a factor in artistic creation I would prefer to know that an absolute unmitigated genius had taken half a decade out of his life for a work of art, rather than just a few minutes.

  • look at my website marcocochrane, com and click on "deja life size" to see what it looks like when i put another month into it. enjoy

  • Oh fantastic, it's great to hear from the artist, I'll do that!

  • All your work is very impressive. It's very refreshing to find a talented artist.

I really like "death of the enemy" It is very hard to make a difficult subject look beautiful, it would be the kind of thing I'd be interested in doing had I continued my art education.

  • thank you

  • i am asking my self. ''does he makes love with that sculptures''??

  • man..thats alot of clay!

  • what are you using to smooth the surface?

  • his tounge lol

  • lmao

  • probably a wet sponge

  • we like your show!

    artstudio satyricon

  • Are they...anatomically correct?

  • how´s the models back???? LOL!! 2 hours???

    your work is amazing dude!!!

I really look foward to being able to sculpt like you do....

    admirable :D

wanna learn how u did the wire structure like panicmom said...

  • what kind of clay are you using?

  • sand stone buff ceramic clay

  • could you fire that clay with the wire frame?

  • no the clay will shrink and the fram will not

  • i just started sculpting and used wire frame but,it always cracks, how do u stop it from craking

  • If you are using water clay, try making the figure without an armature, just build up your form, making sure to prop up anything that's slumping. When you are about halfway done, slice it in half, scoop out the insides and stuff with paper towels. Then

score and moisten the 2 sections really well and stick everything back together, make sure you have a vent hole. Armatures can be a real problem with water clay. This guy is working with oil clay -Chavant, maybe?

  • what for is the vent hole?

  • can you do a vid on how to make the wire frame????

  • I love this what what did you use for the !!

how did you make it lok so real!!

    I love it

  • ferrocement...

  • sik gibi bu ne aq

  • wow! ive only seen this done once but def. not that fast, incredible!

  • beautiful work. I've long wanted to work at life scale, but due to space constraints and mat'l costs am stuck in 1/4 (18") scale.

  • how do you go about meshing wire frame of the body. It looked complex however neatly wired together. And what kind of clay are you using and how will you go about casting it? in pieces maybe?? Very good work!

  • no WAY the 2 hours includes the time it took to make the metal armiture

  • I love your work. I think putting on the clay and shaping it into something beautiful would be the easy part. Creating the mesh to put the clay on, another story.

  • how much clay do you actually end up using? I'd love to see a final comparison between this model and the finished bronze casting. Nice work. :)

  • amazing is the armature a type of mesh?

  • How do you Fire it? do you fire it??

  • no i cast in bronze

  • you have rich customers :D

  • WOW! How long does it take you to do these?

  • about 20 hours on the armature and two hours on the sculpting

  • Holy cow!!! I take forever just doing my little 9" or 12" figures.

  • You make armature using a wire or gauze. And... U're using real model or imagination?
