I do like your little rant at the end about Connery leaving Bond to someone younger, I also found it amusing because there's a lot of people who think that his character in The Rock is basically his James Bond character with a different name lol.
Connery use to be my second favorite Bond (after Craig), but this "film" - if you can even call it that - may have put Pierce Brosnan in my number two spot.
I mean, Connery even stated that this was his favorite Bond movie to work on.
Great review and very funny. If you rate Never Say Never Again with the officials films than only Die Another Day is worse in my view. As a B-action movie of the week staring Sean Connery it is mildly entertaining but not of Bond quality. I often use this Connery potrayal to point out to people who love to make fun of Moore's advancing age in his later films, in spite of Moore being three years older Connery looks more like an old man and his sex scenes more cringworthy than AVTAK Moore.
I can assure you that they did not have arcade machines at high-class casinos in 1983. This was just the producers' pathetic attempt to "modernize" the series.
Oh, and dumb fact: Atari was owned by Warner Bros. around the time NSNA was made, which explains why all the arcade machines are of Atari games.
I liked your review of NSNA as well, as what you said pretty much defines the film for the shit that it is. Anyway, I can't even bear to speak about this movie and whats in it, its just that terrible. If it was part of the official series then it would be the worst Bond film alongside Die Another Day, for sure.
OK, well I can't wait to hear your review regarding A View To A Kill, I'm pumped, as I love Moore's swan song as his third best film to me, and it is criminally underrated.
Don't like this movie at all. It was ridiculous, and just as bad as Diamonds Are Forever, if not worse. It shouldn't have been made, and I'm glad that it was not an official Bond film. Octopussy, although not one of my favorite Bond films totally blew this film out of the water in terms of the 1983 'Battle Of The Bonds'. Octopussy was a very good film, but quite a massive step down after For Your Eyes Only, and I had a few flaws with OP, mainly boring scenes in Germany. But it was still verygood
Having not seen this since its release in '83, I had completely forgotten about that arcade scene. Now I know movies often try to cash in on the latest craze, and some do it quite well (WarGames anyone?), but this is just embarrassing in a supposed serious Bond film. As far as that "game" they played, how lame. They should of just had them play Defender or Missile Command, at least then you would know what they were doing. I want my $3.50 back.
I can't wait for casino royale (2006) review

hey, youth isn't everything either. even though Connery is old, i think he still makes a good "experienced" Bond.

The Tall Guy. Rowan Atkinson did have a good film role once.
I agree that NSNA has a weird feel too it. Probably my personal least favourate, apart from DAD. It's tacky crap, basically.
