I have trouble with the "Truth" movement because of several things. First, whenever a scientist isn't of the same opinion and provides his own research.. apparently he's automatically on the take. Then spurious links are made to prove it. Like in the Loose Change vs Popular Mechanics debate... The guys from loose change just seemed more concerned with their "message" than the facts. So it can be difficult to accept information about 911 without thinking "Anyone can lie.. even 911 truthers.."
I don't know if the "truthers" are crazy, but they're certainly stupid. Maybe they should take some classes: statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, etc. and/or watch NOVA ... it's not THAT complex.

Listen Truthers, The day 9\11 happened I was only 11 and I hardly remember anything except thinking my Dad was crazy because he kept panicking that "They're bombing the whole fucking world!!!" After years of watching this develop I can say that it does look extremely suspicious and the 9\11 Commission Report is a crock of horse shit with lies on every page. It's the insane notion that thousands of government officials, non-government volunteers (to act as witnesses and victims), private sector scientists, engineers, air-traffic controllers, policemen, firemen etc etc ALL were in on it and none of them spilled the beans. You would also have to believe that millions of little chance variables all came together perfectly. Believe that, and you are insane.
Through compartmentalization and the chain of command only a few at the top of the conspiracy were orchistrating it and knew the whole scope of what was going on. So "thousands" were not involved nor did it require "thousands" to pull it off. This is a common misconception about 9/11 that everyone had to be involved and it isn't true. Another false idea is that it came together perfectly. It didn't and much has been exposed and numerous whistleblowers have come forward.

Yes, steel isn't magic, and according to the laws of physics, it offers resistance. Never in all of recorded history has a building fallen from impact at freefall speed- let alone three. Now let's consider that building 7 was never even hit. Good god indeed.
Steel doesn't have to completely melt to give way. When heated it tries to expand at both ends, and when can't expand anymore it gives way. How much presure do you think was pushing down on those beams? That in addition to the intense fire destroying everything inside sounds like a situation where a building would fall pretty fast. Building 7 simply speaks for itself. With all the destruction and debris crashing all around it how is this an issue?
But the steel DIDN'T just give way, it melted, and remained molten for several weeks. You'd have to be clinically insane to believe two tanks of jet fuel could do that. If you aren't even aware of the facts of the case, why bother to comment?
Building 7 certainly does not speak for itself. Once again, never in recorded history has a building collapsed at freefall speed several hours after nearby buildings were hit. Was there an earthquake in just that spot that left the rest of the city alone??

Excellent. This captures my thoughts precisely. It renews the feelings of exasperation I had when I watched Maher's comments the first time it played on HBO.
So you can't refute the facts that are presented here such as the FBI admitting they have no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11 and the best you can do is say it is stupid?

I have trouble with the "Truth" movement because of several things. First, whenever a scientist isn't of the same opinion and provides his own research.. apparently he's automatically on the take. Then spurious links are made to prove it. Like in the Loose Change vs Popular Mechanics debate... The guys from loose change just seemed more concerned with their "message" than the facts. So it can be difficult to accept information about 911 without thinking "Anyone can lie.. even 911 truthers.."

So there's no reason he would be told by his new employer (HBO) to "toe the gov't line." d) Just because a bunch of protesters were thrown out of Maher's show doesn't make his opinion automatically wrong. 300K people is 1/10 of 1% of the country. Multiply that groundswell by 100 and it is still a fringe viewpoint. And those protesters should be clamoring around MSM buildings or DC, not interrupting an entertainment show. Through compartmentalization and the chain of command only a few at the top of the conspiracy were orchistrating it and knew the whole scope of what was going on. So "thousands" were not involved nor did it require "thousands" to pull it off. This is a common misconception about 9/11 that everyone had to be involved and it isn't true. Either Maher doesn't understand science ... or he is afraid of getting fired again. Either way he is wrong and is no expert on 911. Common sense and the fact that those buildings were design to withstand what happen, yet the came down with no resistance what so ever proves they were demo.

Take a look at the official FBI website 10 most wanted poster on OBL mr know it all. Check the FBI statement from Rex Tomb and explain that to us smart guy. But the scientist who is interviewed at 1:12 is saying something that doesn't really make any sense from a perspective of basic physics. She should clarify her statement so that more people will believe the truth.

It would help a lot of Steven Jones weren't a nutty bastard, surely there are more reputable people supporting further investigation into 9/11. Don't misunderstand, Jones' information on THIS issue is fairly intelligible, but he is easily discounted as a credible person by his other "work". I cringe when I see him getting so many references, we don't need actual nutters shooting us in the foot.

Yes, steel isn't magic, and according to the laws of physics, it offers resistance. Never in all of recorded history has a building fallen from impact at freefall speed- let alone three. Now let's consider that building 7 was never even hit. Good god indeed.

Steel doesn't have to completely melt to give way. When heated it tries to expand at both ends, and when can't expand anymore it gives way. How much presure do you think was pushing down on those beams? That in addition to the intense fire destroying everything inside sounds like a situation where a building would fall pretty fast. Building 7 simply speaks for itself. With all the destruction and debris crashing all around it how is this an issue?

But the steel DIDN'T just give way, it melted, and remained molten for several weeks. You'd have to be clinically insane to believe two tanks of jet fuel could do that. If you aren't even aware of the facts of the case, why bother to comment?
Building 7 certainly does not speak for itself. Once again, never in recorded history has a building collapsed at freefall speed several hours after nearby buildings were hit. Was there an earthquake in just that spot that left the rest of the city alone??

Cool, so I guess you went and checked out the molten steel at ground zero? And you keep saying these things have never happened before in history. Have you studied every instance of planes crashing into huge towers in 'history?' Do you think jumping on board with these crazy theories for the sake of jumping makes you more of an American? No, I didn't go there, I just watched the news- didn't you? I wasn't the only person who wondered why the steel was still molten day after day, week after week- it was on the goddamned news!
And yes, I did study a great many crash sites, I was determined to find a precedent for such a thing, but I found nothing. It doesn't make me a better American, just one with sufficient time on my hands.

My issues are with the people who only wants everyone to see their side. I dont believe that the goverment was behind 911, but I can also be senseable enough to say the other side do have a few valid points. I don't like the people on either side saying their 100% right and not using commen sense to look at both sides and form a reasonable opinion.

Bill Maher isnt the person you should be asking about this. we do have a new president in office since Jan 09....Maybe if you askk nicely, he'll follow that policy he has of accountability and transparency. And since he loves bashing G.W. Bush, its a no brainer to think he'd tell us all there was a government conspiracy.

i don't get why 9/11 truthers have decided RT is the one show on which they insist they MUST be allowed to appear. i'm certain this isn't the only topic some of his viewers would like to see raised on the show that he isn't willing to entertain.
it's his show, he and his staff pick the topics and it's perfectly legitimate for him not to raise it if he doesn't want to. why do they think interrupting his show like this will make him more sympathetic or more likely to raise the topic on the air?

Did you watch the video and see the dates? Maher attacked them first and did it in 2006 and 2007 just days prior to the anniversary of 9/11. He's a scumbag slapping the faces of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. He deserved everything he got. Maher is spreading disinformation about 9/11 and it is really sad that just because he is on TV that people think he is worth listening to. He isn't. If Steven Jones or Richard Gage went on his show they would wipe the floor with Maher.

I wouldn't say idiots. I think they're confused and want to make sense out of something.
They want life to be something more glamorous than it actually is.
People were mad at the US government, and destroyed buildings and killed lives. Not that great of a story, and no twist at all.
But a people's own government creating this elaborate plan to destroy lives as well as a city to go to war, is a much better narrative.
That movies sounds a crapload better, doesn't it?

Well if you are a structural engineering professor and one of the leading authorities in the world on building earthquake engineering then his opinion is considered an "expert" opinion and could be used in a court of law as evidence and by the way it was WTC 7 not the non existant WTC 9 that he was talking about. There are MORE scientists and engineers who disagree with these 'so-called' experts and ALSO have credentials.
Truthers find a few people who argue the facts, and some how take it as 100% creditable information.
When people feel like they don't have control over their lives, they sometimes make up stories in their head to make sense out of it. Its kinda human.
