I don't kno what I'm doing wrong, I put a little more then enough on the gpu and CPU and it didn't work, now I have like just enough and i'm waiting for it to cool down, if it doesn't work what should I do
I apologize for the delay in response as I do not check my youtube account often. To answer your question about 0022 error code. This secondary code is kind of a pain. However, it can be repaired the same way or with a heat gun on 900'F over each the GPU and CPU for about 25 seconds from about 2 inches above the chip. This is going to help melt the solder joints back together easier and a lot better than just letting the system overheat. I have repaired many of them this way and honestly,
Please help, iafter doing this, i get 3 red rings, then immedietly 2 and the fans turns off, i have checked if the motherboard is bent which it is not, i used thermal grease zm-stG1, what can i do?
Hi, I have no ring of death, but a few weeks ago found that my screen was going kinda blurry when playing games. If i gave the xbox a tap on the side it would go back to a normal perfect screen (like i was knocking something back into place). But unfort a week later i now have a black screen showing nothing but can still hear everything working. Like i say, theres no red lights on the console & have taken the thing apart, but to be fair. Havent a clue. Any help would be much appreciated
Well, unfortunately the black screen is a precursor to the RROD. I think that best thing to do is 1.)do the repair or have someone do it. Or 2.) Purchase a new xbox.
The only way to make the screen come back is to do the X clamp mod. Or, super heat with a towel like the morons on you tube. (I honestly do not suggest doing that.)
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any help and I will be happy to assist.
I would recommend that you: (1. Use a heat gun with a temp setting of about 750'F and heat the board...(if you are not experienced you can damage the board beyond repair.)
(2. Try using shorter screws, your screws may be too long and could be hitting the heat sink which is not allowing the heat sink seat correctly on the chip sets??? Try these steps, I am sure one of them will work.
Also, you need to make sure that you are tightening evenly. Too much on one side or the other will cause the same symptoms as the heat sink is only cooling one area... Thanks for watching the video and the comment.
If you are getting one light you may have more severe problems than the 3 light problem. There should be a code that comes up on the screen such as E-74, E-68, Etc... If you have the E-74 code, your system needs more than the x-clamp mod fix. E-68 is an error communicating with the hard drive and the HDD may need a replacement.
hey great video, but how do you "bake" it? are you putting the entire mother board in the oven or something. I'm just curious as to how your cleaning the old compound off the motherboard....
I am not sure I understand your question? I did not put anything in the oven... What needs to be done, is the solder is lead free and needs to be heated to melt back into position. The way to do that (Somewhat effectively) is to remove the xclamps and power on the unit for a few seconds after removing the heatsinks and the compound. As far as cleaning the compound off of the chips, I use citrus adhesive remover and alcohol.
this seems to be best effective for me. I then use AS7 (Arctic Silver 7) with a very thin (Paper thin) coat. Once I have this heated, I lightly tighten the screws until they are semi snug but, not too tight; otherwise you will damage the chip sets.
From there, you will have to mess with the system to find the best configuration that works. it can be a little tricky at first to get the system back online.
Sure, No problem. If you need me to help with anything, let me know. This was actually intended for my brother. I wasn't really expecting anyone else to look at it. It's kind of a short video. I skipped a lot of steps for him to get the just of what I was trying to do. I have been thinking about doing a more detailed one. Not sure if I am going to do it though? Thanks for the Comment!
Thats how you do it! Just a little advice though for all of you who saw this. Make sure you get something to cool down the ANA chip(the chip between the gpu and the left side of the fans). If this chip overheats then you will experience graphical issues, i.e. the no rrod but no video. Best thing to use is mini heatsinks used mainly for pc video card ram. And dont use pennies wrapped in electrical tape, unless you want it to look tacky.
Yeah, what i did there was manipulated the Heat sinks on the board and re-tightened the screws that replaced the X-clamp. I did not show it because, I actually made this video for my brother and was not actually expecting anyone else to watch it. Anyway, I have repaired over 1000 game consoles. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Oh, to answer your other question. I use Arctic Silver. You can get it at radio shack for $10 or so. Hope this Helps.
Ok. I need help with my Xbox 360. I did the X clamp fix on the CPU and the GPU but for some reason I still get RROD. What do u suggest I should do or check? My error code is 0010.
Sure, you can increase the fan speed. I have found that the easiest way to increase the fan speed is to give a little bit more distance from the CPU or the GPU. I would do it on the GPU. This way, you are always protecting the GPU from overheating. I would also use Arctic Silver compound on the chips to ensure a better conduction of heat transfer.

i tried this and i get one light now instead of three. what should i do now?

do you get the 74 Error ? If not then is your DVD-Drive broken . Unplug it and restart your console . If it works then is the drive broken

So all you need to do is put some arctic silver on both the CPU and GPU and both heatsinks?

You can find tutorials on the net . Google " how to fix the Rod" or something and you´ll see a lot of tuts ;)

how do i sold the chips again after changing the screws and wahsers?
and what screws do i need? and what washers?
how do i clean the chips?
i heard theres a way to speed the vents, is that necessary?
thanks allot, :)
