@336025abC Exactly, I can remember when I used to play games, even easier ones like Bubsy or Donkey Kong 2 and had to figure out where everything was myself. It was a matter of trying to figure out new things about the game itself. That was the pleasure of playing it, it was so simple, but satisfying. And of course they had to focus more on storylines back then. Loom for example, had the craziest story plot and concept, even if the graphics don't necessarily hold up today.

I was born in 1990 and i remember a bunch of shows and movies. They just stuck with me. It was all about originality back then. If anything i thought the 2000s would be better because they know wat works, but they failed and tv is really boring now. I only watch football, basketball and a few shows. I remember back then you couldnt stay on 1 channel, because a variety of good shows were on.

The times before Justin Bieber OR Rebecca Black were even born, before High School Musical and all that bullshit, Before 9/11 and Columbine, When the slasher-movie genre was still doing well and the paranormal-ish movies were actually kinda scary in an Excorcist sort of way, Scream 1 & 2, Tupac and Biggie were still alive, etc.

I was born in 89. Mid 90s babies such as 93ers and 94ers are one thing to complain about but I see late 90s kids such as 97ers and 98ers who are just becoming teens now and it is freaking ridiculous with them claiming they remember all this stuff. At least the 93ers and 94ers could have caught some of the late 90s to share their memories with the rest of us compared to the latter born 97 and 98 that can hardly remember even the early 2000s.

The 90s was the best time to be a kid ever! The 90s were insane: millenium fever was everywhere, the Spice Girls were everywhere - even on fucking crisp packets - We had Pokemon on SMTV Live! WE HAD CHUMS! I had every scented gel pen ever, I think xD Pixar movies had only just begun! Tragically, I remember watching my dad cry at Princess Diana's funeral, and even though I was only 3, even I remember "Football's Coming Home." The 90s were fantastic, I loved every second of it!

@Gouki6669: you are right. There are 3 generations of 90's kids. Youngin's / Middles/ and Enders. It all depends on when you were born. Anyone considered an ender missed most of the decade, so I doubt they are included. Most of 90-97 was primarily geared towards the teen crowds, I graduated in 97 so I know all about this. (except younger stuff like rugrats and dexter's lab, etc). Being as I was born in 79, I also enjoyed the 2 greatest consoles to ever come out: the NES in 85/86
@336025abC That's exactly how I see it, 79-83=early 90s kids, 84-86=mid 90s kids, and 87/88=late 90s kids. The late 80s and early 90s cohorts would be more along the lines of cuspers, being half and half. I see 01 as the last time I ever felt like an actual child and we're already in the early 00s there.
My first system was actually turboduo (turbografx and cd built into one) and a NES. We didn't get SNES until 95. Other 90s systems people forget to name=3DO, sega cd/genesis.
@336025abC Like I never saw Playstation and N64 as "90s" systems just because they came out in the 90s. I didn't get either until the early 00s, they're more "millennium" if anything. When I think 90s, I think cheesy, arcade, 2-d graphics and real life sims at best (like 3DO's Mad Dog McCree.)
@Sshell34213- your right about that. I stuck with Nintendo until the N64 came out. by that time, mario and luigi were way overdone and final fantasy left for playstation. I was pretty upset FF sold out to Playstation but learned ot accept and grow from it! Van Damme, Schwarzenneger, Nicktoons, TMNT Arcade at the roller rink. MAME and emulators were such a perfect tribute to them
@336025abC I dont think the playstation even came out until 95 or so.. seems like the Super NES came out in 91/92 if my memory is correct. I think the combination of NES/Genesis/Snick/nickelodeon/Action Hero Stars in all the best movies made it the best time to grow up. It was such an incredible combination there was no other choice but to be the best time ever!
@336025abC Yea, the 90s was a great "kid" decade for both girls and boys. You could be a girl and like boys stuff or a boy and like girls stuff, but there was also a lot of great stuff for each gender as well. I had a lime green ninja turtle bike and upon seeing it I thought two things, 1. it was clearly a boy's bike, 2. it was totally amazing. lol.
And just such an adventurous and fun time to be a little kid. The Action hero thing definitely added to that feeling.
@336025abC Something I've learned is that if there's anything I love, someone will eventually be there to soil it with their wallet just to make a buck.
Emulators are great, I used to play a lot of old SNES games on those. I honestly haven't felt motivated to play video games for a really long time. I kind of disheartened by the direction gaming has gone. It's no longer about the simplicity of beating up a villain, it's like games are giant complex movies now. Way too much for me.

Yup. Like all of the new game consoles & games are impressive and stuff. But i lost interest after the xbox really. Due too the fact the evolution of game consoles were moving too fast. Some of my favourate games are from 2002/3 such as Starwards KOTOR. Amazing script! Also films we're alot better. Actors we're alot better. Soo we're the music. Im from the era of Slipknot and Mudvayne back in 2000/1 And avril lavigne in 2002. Medal of honour 2002 frontline. Digimon, beyblades. 90's ruled man.
I was born in 2000 and there were still those shows during those years but they all went away nearing 2007 :( 2000-2006 watched most of those 90s show and im not even a 90s kid. Thats kinda wierd. I still watched Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Sabrina, Pokemon, Space Jam. And we also still had those old toys like that Tamagotchi. And I still played Spyro. I guess they makers of these things decided to bring them back for s short while......

The 90s was the best time to be a kid ever! The 90s were insane: millenium fever was everywhere, the Spice Girls were everywhere - even on fucking crisp packets - We had Pokemon on SMTV Live! WE HAD CHUMS! I had every scented gel pen ever, I think xD Pixar movies had only just begun! Tragically, I remember watching my dad cry at Princess Diana's funeral, and even though I was only 3, even I remember "Football's Coming Home." The 90s were fantastic, I loved every second of it!

Really? If someone was born on January 1st, 1990, do they really not remember the 90's? Lol. So typically 7 year olds would like a show that came out in 97 like Pokemon, if you were born in 1990 do you really not remember that? I was born in 1994 and remember my friends and I as well as my bro (2 years older than me) and his friends talking about it. Get over yourselves, just because someone didn't experience all 10 years doesn't mean they don't have signifigant memory. Furbies, serisouly?

@Gouki6669: you are right. There are 3 generations of 90's kids. Youngin's / Middles/ and Enders. It all depends on when you were born. Anyone considered an ender missed most of the decade, so I doubt they are included. Most of 90-97 was primarily geared towards the teen crowds, I graduated in 97 so I know all about this. (except younger stuff like rugrats and dexter's lab, etc). Being as I was born in 79, I also enjoyed the 2 greatest consoles to ever come out: the NES in 85/86

@336025abC That's exactly how I see it, 79-83=early 90s kids, 84-86=mid 90s kids, and 87/88=late 90s kids. The late 80s and early 90s cohorts would be more along the lines of cuspers, being half and half. I see 01 as the last time I ever felt like an actual child and we're already in the early 00s there.
My first system was actually turboduo (turbografx and cd built into one) and a NES. We didn't get SNES until 95. Other 90s systems people forget to name=3DO, sega cd/genesis.

@336025abC Like I never saw Playstation and N64 as "90s" systems just because they came out in the 90s. I didn't get either until the early 00s, they're more "millennium" if anything. When I think 90s, I think cheesy, arcade, 2-d graphics and real life sims at best (like 3DO's Mad Dog McCree.)

@Sshell34213- your right about that. I stuck with Nintendo until the N64 came out. by that time, mario and luigi were way overdone and final fantasy left for playstation. I was pretty upset FF sold out to Playstation but learned ot accept and grow from it! Van Damme, Schwarzenneger, Nicktoons, TMNT Arcade at the roller rink. MAME and emulators were such a perfect tribute to them

@336025abC I dont think the playstation even came out until 95 or so.. seems like the Super NES came out in 91/92 if my memory is correct. I think the combination of NES/Genesis/Snick/nickelodeon/Action Hero Stars in all the best movies made it the best time to grow up. It was such an incredible combination there was no other choice but to be the best time ever!

@336025abC Yea, the 90s was a great "kid" decade for both girls and boys. You could be a girl and like boys stuff or a boy and like girls stuff, but there was also a lot of great stuff for each gender as well. I had a lime green ninja turtle bike and upon seeing it I thought two things, 1. it was clearly a boy's bike, 2. it was totally amazing. lol.
And just such an adventurous and fun time to be a little kid. The Action hero thing definitely added to that feeling.

@336025abC Something I've learned is that if there's anything I love, someone will eventually be there to soil it with their wallet just to make a buck.
Emulators are great, I used to play a lot of old SNES games on those. I honestly haven't felt motivated to play video games for a really long time. I kind of disheartened by the direction gaming has gone. It's no longer about the simplicity of beating up a villain, it's like games are giant complex movies now. Way too much for me.

Yup. Like all of the new game consoles & games are impressive and stuff. But i lost interest after the xbox really. Due too the fact the evolution of game consoles were moving too fast. Some of my favourate games are from 2002/3 such as Starwards KOTOR. Amazing script! Also films we're alot better. Actors we're alot better. Soo we're the music. Im from the era of Slipknot and Mudvayne back in 2000/1 And avril lavigne in 2002. Medal of honour 2002 frontline. Digimon, beyblades. 90's ruled man.

I was born in 2000 and there were still those shows during those years but they all went away nearing 2007 :( 2000-2006 watched most of those 90s show and im not even a 90s kid. Thats kinda wierd. I still watched Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Sabrina, Pokemon, Space Jam. And we also still had those old toys like that Tamagotchi. And I still played Spyro. I guess they makers of these things decided to bring them back for s short while......

@bratny18 I think you had to be born in '88 and over to appreciate Pokemon...It's a phenomenon my friend and I discovered when we started hanging out (in college) with some girls who were just two grades behind us...We think it's bc a lot of us born in '86/'87 had just started jr. high when Pokemon became popular and around older kids and no longer around elementary school trends??

@puppiesare2cute7 well to be honest ..an EARLY decade (1990-1994/5) are a "lasting imprint" from the previous decade. Hence, the later years of a decade (1995-1999) are a PROPER and more FULLER representation the the current decade (in this case the 90's).
