  • BANGER! OR DEMO DERBY!

  • awesome

  • thats weird. you americans clearly have a very different opinion about barns..

  • actually in excellent shape for a mid 60's car up north where i'm guessin you are....that barn really saved it...sell it to a mopar freak

  • Only the Canadian '68 Dodges came with a slant 6, as if a/one actually would! I'd take a guess at 383. If the distributor's in front of the motor...383/440. At rear of motor....318.

  • it's actually a 67 and probably has either a slant 6 or 318 ( if the engine is still in it )

  • @19522007 i mean a 68

  • @19522007 It's a 1968 Polara 500. I found the manual and the ownership. I'll look up the vin # on line and see if it can tell me anything about the specifics of the engine, like where it was built.

  • Damn it still look in good shape! would make a great rebuilt project!

  • A Swedish company named busabilar,se bye cars like this one.

    Mail info@busabilar.se

  • i had a white one like this.

  • Car and Trucks are not the best things that can be found in Barns; like a Curtis Bi-Plane, Indian Motorcycle, Horse Drawn Carriage or Wagon, even good smelling Straw. Peace & Love

  • A radio delete car! That's pretty rare.

Wonder if it might be an old cop car?

  • You should try to open the trunk. There might be a dead body in there, or rather a skeleton.

  • love it clean car

  • you should get this towed out and restored

  • @tractorman287 it wasn't my barn it was my grandpas barn

  • @artworkbykeith we found a old 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback in our barn it was almost in perfect shape it had its tag on it and the scary part was the car was a getaway car for someone

  • @dillman1999 thats a lie you dont have a barn

  • 1968 Dodge Polara sedan. I would love to have one. That's the kind of car you cruise to the bowling alley on a saturday night with 3 of your good friends.

  • I think i now why he left it..

  • hell if you can figure out what engine it got depending i may pay up to 500 dollar for it cause i'm betting it don't start or run right

  • Watch out for bees!!!

  • '68 not a '64. Side marker lights didn't exist on cars in '64.

  • its only a 4door, nothing to drool over.

  • Wow, that is in great condition compared to many other cars that have been sitting outdoors. I would definetly encourage selling the whole car to someone who can restore it, not just for parts. In fact, by the looks of it, the car would be an easy project! Good luck.

  • this guys an idiot its worth restoring its not in rough shape

  • this guys an idiot its worth restoring its not in rough shape

  • Is this car driveable?

  • I think it's wonderful.

  • We had a cream colored 1964 Plymouth Fury I, one of the fastest little cars my Dad owned. It had a 318 cubic inch engine in it. (I think) I was too young to dirve it.

  • my dad had an old plymouth fury that he bought for 200 bucks. drive it for about 10 years with me driving it on the weekends and never touched a wrench the whole time he had it. got t-boned in the passenger door and sold it for 200 bucks.

  • take it man

  • Please tell me you kept this car,you could easily get it fixed up enough to where you could drive it yourself, I mean really??? a free car??? why sell it? especially a classic!?

  • @The18Jake - we still have it.

  • it hasnt been sitting that long, 1973 plates can still be used today and I use them on my 70 olds. they didnt use plates for one year, u should be old enough to know that.

  • I say pull it out and put a battery in it and see if it turns over.

  • You must have a fairly dry climate there. The car looks sound and you have a lot to work with if your thinking of doing it up. I assume you would have checked out the body etc to see if its worth working on. Just for fun ring round around a few wreckers. Start looking for parts on the internet. This starts to give you ideas on cost and then upto you. if you cant work on it maybe sell it to a restorer? that way it gets a second life :)

  • try to start that car :)

  • sell parts on ebay, what r u retarded or something you obviously dont know what you have, id kill for that car, and what do u mean rough shape thats the best condition i could imagine for sittin for 30 some odd years. keep it that car is worth more than what you think or e-mail me

  • @TheMr72dodgedart - I had an automatic 1967 Dodge Dart Scamp 2 Door with white bucket seats and a shifter in the centre console. It was fire engine Red and had a vinyl black top.

I blew the engine out of it racing my brother who was driving our Dad's 1971 Ford LTD, The most fun car I ever owned next to the 1975 Dodge Duster that I owned a few years later. The thing they had in comon was that good ole slant six engine.

My dad shopwed me how to strip down the engine and re-build it .

  • dont let that car sit there it will rot away or some asshole kid will break the windows sell it to a collector so it gets a good home

  • It's definitely a '68. Probably has 107,000 miles.

  • It's definitely a '68.

  • Dont part it out.You just got an great car to restore,or sell it. Iam sure someone will buy that car.

  • It's got round side marker lights; typical of 1968 models. Great find for resto.

  • i got philadelphia raccons on my porch roof what should i do ,RAT POISION OR call spca ?

  • @PHILLYDEMOCRAT SPCA won't help you. .

  • I bought a 63 Buick wildcat once from and old lady from her back yard, battery, tires, oil change and drove it for 2 years then sold it off

  • @cole3481596 Rock, not Rocks and farm not farms. And he would probably trash the car, I dont wanna see that happen.

  • Looks like a '68 to me.

  • Remember what Peggy Bundy told Al. Nothing says failure like driving a Dodge.

  • @BeetleBerlin The writers of that show were no nothing idiots (when it came to cars) The used that stupid line about Dodge's & the actual car that Al Bundy drove was a Plymouth Duster.

  • To give you all an idea of how long this car has been sitting, here's a bit of history of the Ontario license plates on it. Ontario used to issue new license plates every year until 1973, when they changed to the sticker program. The '73 plates were valid through 1981, when they were replaced by the same looking plate, just without the 73 on them.

The rear plate should have a sticker on it with the last year the plate was valid. That would be the best bet of how long the car has been sitting.

  • wow the out side look new

  • i know what it is worth DAVIDSFARM. Lucan ontario canada.

  • Whats in the trunk?

  • @dmx011 The last time I looked a racoon had taken up residence and used a hole in the left rear 1/4 panel for a door.

  • Junk it dude.

  • wow. i cant believe how lucky you are to have it just left there. i'd be freakin out over that. that old beauty has been waiting all these years for you to come along and restore her. please dont part it out. her life is in your hands.

  • heyu! thats my car! ;D

  • im pretty sure what you have is the 1968 polara. as for the 1964 they only have 1 headlight on each side and this one has 2 on each side. the 67 also had 2 on each side but in 1967 the center of the hood dropped down about 2 inches in the front. tihs body didnt come until 1968. i think it has the 383 in it. correct me if im wrong please

  • its in good shape concidering how long its been sitting. i would restore it

  • kids like to play with it i hope u fixed it its a beautiful car

  • nice grill.. just put it in the barn , sell it , or give it away .. but don't let it waste away to nothing in the open.. please

  • Sir, i would like to know if you are selling parts and if so please email me back it would be appreciated from you thanks!

  • @earl642 what parts are you looking for?

  • @artworkbykeith

Hello! Keith, I'm looking for both back rear Quater panel! the top part above the tires,

also! the the interior plastic light cover, and both sides of the plastic panels Interior by the side door next to the retracting seat belt they are about 2foot long!

When you open the door look to your left facing the opposite and you will see it. or if you look from the window, you will see on the driver side you could see them both from the driver and passenger side.

  • what you found in the barn was a car and a shotgun in the driver seat...ohhh a mystery we will never know :)

  • i think there was something in the barn, he doesnt want the owners to come back for it....

  • @tastyscabs ya.... straw and hay.... and the pigeons.

  • So what are you going to do with that 1968 Dodge? I'd bet the farm I can drive it out of that ditch!!!

  • get davidsfarm to take it

  • Dont part it...start it!

  • 5 digit odometer,so after 99,999 they go back to 0..

    Nice Dodge..I had a 4 door like that,cleaned it up,and sold it for $4,200 last year !! The compression was mostly even 120-135,had a 383 2 bbl,same colour !!! No rust,ripped seats,but nice driver,smooth,quick ,2.76 rear axle with chrome magnum 500 wheels..

  • you should go to daves farm

  • That car is in really good shape. i agree with bigredlover. the moron did proably think its broke down. dont part it out. just try to start it.

  • Comment removed

  • It's a '68. It has not been sitting for 30 years. If the owner is as stupid about cars as the uploader... it probably just ran out of gas and he thought it broke down. Put some gas in the tank.Try starting it.

  • man i would love to have that car

  • thats too nice to tear up for parts. It can be fixed up. Its really not bad, just sitting too long

  • You're right this car is not that bad at all. She could be fixed up. She could be really tough. (from movie Christine hahaha) I have seen people fix up cars in a lot worse shape. Granted they were not Dodge Polaris 4-doors but I think its pretty cool. Lot of potential. Not that much rust. I wonder if it is a 318.383,etc.

  • By my recollections thats a 1968. Only year they came out with the button marker side lights. Be nice to know that cars history, but 4years of driving...I doubt its 108,000miles. Could be a find. What engine is in it?

  • @Downedworker I'll find out and let you know.

  • @artworkbykeith i want to know to

  • strange why someone would leave a 5 year old car on in the field.

  • too bad its a 4 door they are not worth as much

  • pull it out and bring it back to life, its worth it

  • My dad had one of those. Same color. Great old car.

  • shit fix it and sell the whole car on E bay

  • omg fix it help it or let somebody do it before it dies dont part it out

  • Its a 1968

  • if you dont know much about restoring a car , sell it as it is, its a dodge 68 polara with only 7k miles on it and in good shape,i would carefully pull it out of there and wait to get someone how realy wants it, you can get 5k$ for it easy ,but dont let the children play to much in it so it kepps in good shape..or have it restore and sell it 10k$ good luck

  • man its in nice shape for sitting for so long

  • dont sell restore you can do it!!!!!

  • I googled a picture of the car; it's definitely a '68 Polara.

  • That car isnt in bad shape. Its not really worth a lot of money tho. If you like to drive an old car it wouldnt take a lot to fix that.

  • if you wanna take it out with you John Deere, maybe you can hook the car from the front bumper. or check any suit places to hook it.but John Deere, i think cannot....or can ? i like that car..pretty good shape..restore and drive it! but i think the chassis is good...old cars ran down like hallelujah! anyway, why don't you check inside the car? please reply. thanks!

  • seriously....either sell the ENTIRE car as ONE piece or restore it. cause that car is in really good shape compared to my Ford LTD...

  • I know what you mean, my Dad had a 1971 Ford LTD ( I learned to drive in it), and it was rusted out in the frame in 1979. Apparently Ford at the time was buying cheap Japanese Steel and it cost Ford hundreds of millions of dollars in lost business due to poor quality. Perhaps the Japanese had a plan. They kept the good steel for their own cars...... pretty clever.

  • guy like that dont deserve that car...give it to some1 who will!!!

  • restore and drive it!

  • dont wreck it restore it to original condition

  • That's actually a '68 Dodge. 1968 was the first year that all cars had lights on the side (on this one near the Polaris name on the left side). It was not a '69 because it didn't have headrests in the front.

    Could be a nice car!

  • Restore it and drive it! Save an old Mopar, and a beautiful piece of history.

  • Grill looks like a 1967 dodge.

  • Restore it. piece of history...

  • it's hard to find this kinda masterpiece in Malaysia, all we got is the japanese old school car but it's hard to restore since it's parts are hard to find...

  • The car has been there at least 25 years, it is sitting in a fence row next to an open field with strong westerly winds, ... not oo much will accumulate on the car.

  • fucking restore it or sell it whole. its a pretty nice looking car. IDIOT

  • I'm going to pull it out next spring with my John Deere, any advice on how to get it out without causing any damage to it?

  • Thats good to hear. I'd try and see if you can jack the car up enough to wrap chains or straps around the rear and front ends of the frame. Just to limit the stress on the frame. and just choose an end the pull. good luck. Are you restoring or selling?

  • I don't know I suppose I will take a look at it after we get it out and decide what to do. I've never restored a car before.

  • After you get the car out, later down the road, jack it up. take a real good look at the bottom of the floor pans and see if there are any rust holes or soft areas.

If so, carfully pull the seats out, along with the carpet. and grind out the the rust holes, weld or pop rivet down some new metal, and fiber glass over it. then primer it, and paint it. Put the original, or new carpet down, and reinstall seats, and trim pieces. at least thats a good start. Plus, you also want to make sure she run

  • will you please restore her,,and dont let the d,d boys get hold of her

  • @artworkbykeith

I'd start with a shovel. lot of work yeah but it's better than giving it a pull just to see what happens. if it's on the ground to the frame it may be too rotted to stress. you may, if there's a bumper jack (if no key remove the back seat) and lift it a touch just to get a look. this is a case of 'measure three times cut once' cause if you get it wrong it's the end. a car is original only once. also, dodge used cheap vinyl and it doesn't look worn from use. I'd day 7k miles.

  • @artworkbykeith

    say*

  • Thanks for the advice, I will give it a try in the spring when it thaws out. I'll video tape the progress as we go.

  • nice

  • nice

  • I posted a responce awhile back about your Car its a 68 dodge polara 4 door I have a 68 polara 2 dr 500 check out my Video I finally got it too work its same color as yours

  • Looks like a 1968 Polara. I love those cars. Used to have a 1967. You should sell the entire car.

  • i'll take the whole car n fix it

  • i would get a video but i dont got a camcorder but its baby blue1959 Edsel and 1 window gone/ left rear/ and almost no rust mostly just interior damage and i also got a 1963 plymouth valiant/black/ all windows that i bought for 150$ at a car show. well ill keep ya posted on what i get and find

  • thanks for sharing....old olds are cool

  • Forget restoring this wreck.

    Sell it for body parts.

    They still look rather good.

May bring in a couple of 100 $.

  • yeah some part are very good.

  • I just made a video with old antique cars in it-- I love old cars !

  • It's a pretty cool thing to have. Keep it. And don't put a bunch of money into it unless it's feasible: Otherwise, just patch up the holes and make it critter proof, buy some used seats from a junkyard, and let the kids play with it. You want to make it so the kids won't get hurt on the inside with rusted metal; and pull out any rotted moldy stuff.

    - - Pull out the motor and put in on motor stand, and teach the kids how to rebuild it. Motor stands are cheap nowdays.

  • I may move it out closer to the house so the grand kids can play in it. I used to play on some old model T's with my friend when I was a kid. They were sitting in the grass on my neighbour's farm. It was great fun. :)

  • It's a four door, and unfortunately, not worth too much due to the fact it is not a sought after body style. Beyond that, the car has been sitting so long in the grass that I am almost positive the undersides of the are too far gone to repair. The amount of money you would have to put into it would far exceed the money you would ever get back as a return. Throw some gas in it, fire it off and bomb around the fields in it......

  • Not to bad

  • hey man i wana buy the car how much u whant ????????

  • It's a 68. 68 was the first year for sidelights, and dodges had those small round ones.

Get it out of there and fix it up, or get it to somebody who can. It's worth restoring.

  • unless you enjoy putting "endless" hours of your life into a dead car...don't buy this car. I have been through this many times before in my life: I would far rather just find a nice one for 3,000 bucks and avoid the endless problems

  • opinions r like buttholes every1 has 1

  • that's cause you watch too much Monster Garage and think cars magically build themselves, thus you probably never finish anything you start...

Some people enjoy putting a lot of work into their hobbies, that is why barn finds are so incredibly popular, duh.

  • as i said...I have been through this many times before...i guess at 56 years old and not having a whole lot of life left....i'd rather drive a nice one that spend all that time

  • Oh yeah at 56 I do understand.

what cars have you worked on in the past?

  • to SoilentGr33n: 1962 chrysler newport, 1965 chev nova, 77 buick regal, 86 pontiac

  • '62 Newports are absolutely beautiful, did you end up driving all of them, that's a nice list!!!

  • to soilent: actually I drove all of them as my everyday car. The 62 chrysler was a beauty but was plagued with design defects....no "park" function in the transmission.....just a park brake, very exotic electrical system to run the "star wars dash" that lit up using "no bulbs"...just a ton of voltage slammed into laminated phosphorous, over charging problems, wierdo double brake cylinders......BUT....on the other hand....my 65 Nova Wagon was as dependable as the sun rise

  • i would pull it out

  • There is a Racoon living in the trunk, but it is still sitting above the ground on its rubber tires. The floor seems to be pretty solid, we will see when we pull it out . The only rot I can see is in the bottom of the rear quarter panel next to the wheel well on the driver side. ( Raccon Door way)

  • Do you have the problem of grass and plant life eating through the bottom of cars that sit for a while? In England it rots cars through very effectively. The condition of it, for thirty-plus years of abandonment appears to be very good.

I'd love the car, just as most viewers probably would. Good luck with getting it moved safely

  • Is it still sitting there?

  • Yes it is still there, my step-son and I are going to pull it out and put it in the barn when he gets back from China in June.

We do have the keys and he original car manual and purchase papaers that were in the glove compartment.

  • You should put in a fresh battery, pour a little fresh gas in the carburetor, and see if it'll fire up without any serious work.

  • Where in Ontario?

  • Do you have the keys to this car? Try to get it going, just to see if it still has the potential to start up once again. its a dodge, it will start.

  • i found a 1959 edsel corsair on my grandmas farm its cool LoL

  • Get us video of it. Edsels are really rare.

  • I am not a dodge guy but you don't get to see too many 4 doors around. If it is not too far gone,it would be something to fix.4 doors we're not a desirable model to collect...I would think twice before parting with it.Would be nice to see it around for a couple more decades...

  • sell it, let someone fix it up

  • this old thing if on ebay should stay in one peice thats auto history even being a 4 door its surviving not alot of even those around anywhere to grab anymore, great car

  • people get so damn lucky i never find anything good

  • I know the feeling.

  • yes, much better barn find than the racoon , im jealous

  • Also, the glass is still all there and everything. You could sell that thing.

  • I'm trying to decide what to do with it, my step-son is coming back from China in a few months and he said he wanted to fix it up , we'll take a look at it then. If we don't decide to fix it up maybe I'll sell it. It seems like there area lot of good orginal parts on it .

  • what you have a 1968 Dodge polara 4 door look at the inside of it might be a 1967 but the front tells me it a '68 I have mint condition 1968 dodge polara 500

2 door I restored back in 1993 its the same color of the junk one you have

  • what is your E-mail address ? I can send you some pictures of my restored one to give you some insight too what it would look like if you ever do restore it post comment on my channel ....

  • If you have some nice photos of your car why don't you post them on your YouTube page so everyone can see it. It is probably worth showing off.

  • This Car is rare!!

  • Did you guys pull it out yet?

  • Not yet, we haven't had time and I don't have anywhere to work on it. I'm thinking of pulling the engine out to put on a motor stand to display in my shop.

  • Omg dont do that. Restore the car. It's a classic piece of art. You dont just pull out the motor to display it somewhere.. come on seriously...

  • Guy, you've GOT to yank it out of there, from what I can see on the video, this thing isn't beyond restorable and the outside body has almost no visible rust.

    It's pretty straight, really.

  • Great car. You should try to push it on some plywood otherwise the floor will rust completely. The outside body is in great shape. Lucky you!!!
