OK, it must be me. I just think it looks sloppy, you weren't in an exam and I think it looks like if you can't be bothered to spell a key name right then possibly the content may not be accurate too. Just my opinion but yours is equall valid.
@lizzielh ok, I'd concede the point about presentation being important for inspiring confidence, but, we use more than one or two features in a source when evaluating its usefulness. The idea that names should only be spelled in one way is a relatively recent convention. The larger part of the history of the academic tradition has managed quite well without it.
I don't say that - infact I'd much rather have content over basic orthography but surely getting the originator of the model's name right is basic and detracts from the message. Maybe it's just me.
@lizzielh what's so special about getting Baddeley right as opposed to any other word.
My point is that, especially, with less formal methods of communication what matters is effectiveness. Also, since examiners don't credit names of theorists it's much mmore important to have substantial content. Incidentally, I've read several literary historians who say that none of the surviving copies of Shakespeare's signature are spelled the same way.
@lizzielh OK Lizzie, you got us. Some of our work isn't as rigorously gramatical as it could be and occasionally the spelling isn't spot on. However, don't you think that where the literacy practised is adequate to the message being delivered that (as Emerson might have it) a foolish preoccupation with orthographic consistency is the hobgoblin of the small mind?
Instead of making ridiculous excuses, just simply check what you did before publishing, especially when it comes to author's name. Duh!
Also, the soundtrack in this video is very distracting and, not to mention, quite annoying. No one ever told you that attention is best when there are no distractors?
@MegaShaft007 no excuses (ridiculous or otherwise) were being made. Read the material you are commenting on more carefully before seeking to make a contribution. You might find the mute function on the player a useful way to manage your distractions. This is a point that has been made before.
@riyatiwari9929 Thanks for the feedback, we're still not 100% decided about background music ourselves. Glad that you found the information useful though.
