Wow this is old i think i watched reruns of this when i was little. I was born in 94. But i did see the 1950's MMC and that was fun to watch( i checked out the collection of all the MMC on dvd that disney released from my library that aired during that time i may be wrong about how the the dvd has all of the episodes).

@VaultMasterDBT or ask someone who knows the hsitory, I don't trust Wikipedia. pretty much it was created by Walt hismelf as a valdville saeirres with children for children, doign skits and songs. only two peopel ave vpocied mickey mosue during the original 50's version (Walt Disney) and The 77 version (Wayne Allwine in his frist voice role as Mickey mouse) but a lot of famous celberies have came off the heels form MMC. it was like American Idol minus the crappiness, and more FUN! I miss MMC

By the time 1993 rolled around, those three weren't on the show anymore and weren't fresh in people's minds. Lastly, just a hunch.

@Kimothy80 I was shy too, but I came to life in front of a camera, lol. Kids Incorporated would have quite an interesting reunion since many of them stayed in the entertainment industry. Rashaan Patterson, Fergie, Jennifer Hewitt, Mario Lopez, etc... so many are still around.

As for MMC, I'm curious about how some of them look now. I guess if it's in demand, Disney might put something together... that is, as long as the ones who made it to the top don't think they're too big for a reunion.

MMC? I'd prefer the lesser-known ones (Jennifer, Chase, etc.) who are just as talented (if not, more so) but haven't seemed to have received the same kind of press and accolades as their co-stars. :-)

I am very surprised that a even a 25 year old today never knew of the original, since it is a part of TV's golden age..heavily discussed and highlighted, worldwide. Didn't The Disney Channel rerun the original, late at night at some point? It was also seen in rerun syndication for many years. Well, see, I didnt grow up around much TV! My parents were real strict about television! I think I was around 12 or 13 when I was allowed to actually sit down and watch TV for a long period of time which is when this came out! I had no idea there was an original MMC

I also can't forget to mention that this version you are watching right here was the THIRD incarnation of MMC. In between this and the 50s version, there was a revival that only lasted a season or so, in 1977. It was very much disco-flavored, and featured future Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel as one of the mouseketeers.
