Up until halfway through the song he leaves Craig Cannon play rhythm while he fills in little bits. I then think the reason his guitar bursts into life is simply because he puts the volume up!!

He's already got great effects going into the fender twin amp  (i guess compression, chorus, delay/reverb) and then he puts the volume up while appregiating the chords (picking through them).It sounds simple but he talks about suddenly putting the volume up in an interview about the fender jaguar guitar

I actually didn't know The Smiths but I learnd from this band by this song performed by the greatest singer ever Mr.Neil Finn when he played this song with Johnny Marr. This whole Rank album is absolutely amazing, wunderfull and just F#$@#$ing GOOD.

I am having a great time listning to all these magic songs and the fantastic guitar played bij Johnny Marr. Thanks for uploading this !

aviadmei iv just finished collecting EVERYTHING that the smiths released on vinyl. it took me 2 months. i dont even have a record player!!! and you need to collect the singles too, if you only buy the albums you'll have only half of what they released. its all out there so its defo possible

What I want to know is why this was omitted from "Rank". This song would have made that album even better. Such a good song, especially live because you can just hear Morrissey pouring his feelings into it...

The Smiths were already broken up when Morrissey chose the songs for Rank. There were 21 songs performed at this show, but only about 14 could fit on a single album. Morrissey decided to include "The Draize Train" instead of a more recognizable song, in order that a greater percentage of the royalties would go to Johnny Marr.
