It was already a song from the 80s, Disney got a lawsuit for using it on LK without permission, XDDD.

This is a South African song written by a Zulu man named Solomon Linda in 1939. It was originally called "Mbube", which is the Zulu word meaning Lion. Pete Seeger was the one who helped get this song famous, but it was probably stolen from Solomon Linda to begin with. The words "Whimoweh", actually are "uyimbube", meaning "You are a lion".
