There is diff. between Khmer monks and Chinese monks, they don't practice the same sect. Even so, when the Shaolin developed Kung Fu it was for maintain health, and it became necesarily later to developed it into martial art to protect themselves. to find out if they are real "monks". I ask
for a dharma name, teachers name and dertificates of any ordination for 5,10 or all precepts. to note, only the chinese shaolin monks (in the past)do any sort of "fighting". here we see "theravada" robes?

Take it easy, first of all these are young men you are watching. Young people tend to fool around, I didn't see them do anything disrepectful or inapropriate to offend Theravada Buddhists. They many not be the ideal monks you have pictured in your mind, but they are still monks in training weather for a day or a life time.

buddhism was brought to us by a man who showed us a method to attain enlightenment if we so choose too. Ultimately, Buddhism allows the individual to go through life in accordance to their own belief. Basically, do what makes you smile, and these monks are smiling. shit, made my khmer buddhist ass smile too.

there just MONKS IN TRAINING. If fighting is against buddhism then why did the shaolin monks make shaolin kung fu. and i don't think you guys know that there is a lot of corruption in Buddhism. One monk at my temple smokes.

There is diff. between Khmer monks and Chinese monks, they don't practice the same sect. Even so, when the Shaolin developed Kung Fu it was for maintain health, and it became necesarily later to developed it into martial art to protect themselves. Even then, they do not take it lightly, it an art with discipline an honor. Not a bunch of clowns jumping around and posting on youtube to be laugh out.

no. they're definitely not the real monks. They're the type that get use for intimidating real monk when they speak for religious and cultural freedom. If you can't be a monk then don't put on a robe. No one forced you too. Don't disgrace a religion because you can't restrain yourself. If you want to be a fool stay on the street.

hey its hard being a monk, i was one for almost a year and we woke up at night to meet the pizza delivery guy at the corner. we're in the new world and monks should be allowed to have fun once in awhile the old ways just dont work anymore. deal with it.

actually when it comes to religion there's is no old and new way, religion is timeless. its cultural beliefs that change. and when it comes to having fun, i think monks can do what they want as long as they stay within the guidlines of Buddhism, but they have to keep in mind that they're devoted to reaching enlightenmet, not messin round, lol.

wow. i can't believe you just admitted that. and whoever said being a monk was easy? if you were looking for fun then maybe you shouldn't have became one in the first place since, yes, if you haven't figured it out yet, it does take a lot of self-constraint. it's a wonder why people have lost their faith in monks these days and don't respect them anymore.
