  • The third sample is obviously the cleanest, and has the warmest sound for recording acoustic.

  • hello helpfully videos can you please tell me if i can hook up my turntables setup at kodak zi8? i mean 2 turntables and a mixer vestax pmc06 (is there a risk to burn out the audio board from the camera if the signal is i don't know, too loud?) cheers!

  • @misu200692 i think it might have a limiter in it. but i would still be careful. remember its only a budget hd camcorder. you should be able to connect it to your mixer.

  • @misu200692 Were you able to connect your tables to the Zi8? I'm trying to do the same...thanks

  • What resolution did you record the video in?

  • BE CAREFUL I think your mic is fake boss!

  • What kind/brand of mic is that?

  • @nando292007 its a sony clone mic i got from ebay. it was sent from hong kong and was quite cheap. but it is a good mic and its stereo

  • great playing, thanks for the helpful answers, i might get the focusrite saffire 40 8 channel firewire rackmount for about $300 to $400 to record videos with. The zi8 seems to be the best portable video recorder with a mic jack on the market right now. please make more acoustic, and maybe some electric videos, you're a great player.

  • @metalfiend124 thanks. i am working on some new stuff. will be up soon.

  • great video, i'm deciding between the zi8 and the playsport. I have a ev n/d 468 dynamic supercardoid $320 mic, would i need to get a separate power supply as someone else who had a zi8 on youtube suggested, or can i just plug a dynamic mic right into the zi8, or later at least buy a mixer or digital interface for the computer connection to my sony acid 6.0 software.?Is the sound quality of the zi8 recording cd quality 44 khz, or even better? thanks

  • @metalfiend124 the playsport doesnt have an external mic jack. if you want to use your mic then the zi8 would be the better choice. you would need a separate power supply for a dynamic mic and i would think about using a mixer. i think there is a video on here of someone hooking up their mixer to the zi8 with great results.i think it is cd quality.

  • Beautiful guitar work. The external mic on the extension was clearly superior. Thank you.

  • @steeljan i am glad you liked it

  • You've got some really nice guitar skills :D I must say the all 3 ways or recording the sound were pretty good (well, not unusable bad). But I guess the 3rd option would be the best way to go, as you then have a better mic and the ability to place it where you want it instead of it being fixed in 1 spot (were the cam is).

  • lol guitar face I have one of them

  • I cant hear you at all you sure you had the gain up higher enough ?

  • the gain was fine. i can hear it ok. i had to turn down the external mics test as it was to loud.

  • very nice video chris . where did you get that mic from

  • i got it from ebay

  • video view is off, wished we could have seen you actually playing in full. a lil lower

as you said stereo cable , the sony clone you corrected in stereo sound?

    done very well,

  • thanks.

  • you can do the mixer thing. i have put a video in my favs of a guy who has done it.

  • i have the same guitar :D Whats the song you played ?

  • i made it up

  • Your very good. The last mic was the clearest of all three. I like the idea of running threw a mixer, seems that would work with a little testing.

  • thanks. i think i might try the mixer idea.
