Sometimes I feel half the people watching this could do better possibly even myself, but then again you'd be pissing when versing someone like Hidayat anyways, that would effect pretty negatively on every action you do or prediction you want to make on court.
But I love the way he walks around all arrogant, barely making eye contact with his opponent, If I or any of my sports college were there we'd be pretty happy, but thats mainly due to our lack of a reputation.
@anggade9 surely not, i mean there are some good players from asia, but smith is one of the most talented players and this guy from asia is just one of 1miilion asians
@PiratOfTheCaribbean do you even know who he the 'asian' is? he is the former olympic champion, world champion and asian champon, seems like a good matchup.

It's an honest and reasonable question for someone who's never played badminton dipshit. I hope next time you ask a fair question somebody calls you stupid.
well maby reasonable for you, but if i never played badminton b4 i would of got the idea about why they hell they serve below the net not over .. its like tennis. i never played tennis and its like saying why can you serve in front of the net n how come i have to stand behind that line.
like i said no offence dude, but if you actually think about it you will actually know the answer isnt that hard. he prob knew it but just wanted conformation.
Your tennis analogy is fallacious. The two games are quite similar and the reason I asked the question is BECAUSE overhand serves are legal in tennis. Only a child wouldn't understand why a player must serve from a certain distance. My question was not about distance from the net, it was about technique. The two are mutually exclusive. Just apologize for calling my question stupid. You know you were wrong (and saying "no offense" before you insult somebody doesn't make things right).
first of all... tennis distance does matter.. how about i serve the tennis ball less than a meter away.. you think you can hit that ball? exactly.. however tennis the courts are much bigger therefore makeing it legal. however in badminton the court isnt that big. therefore its abit lik hitting the tennis ball 1 meter away from the net n telling the opponent to try n hit it... abit silly..
i would apologize however name calling such as dipshit n stupid.. yeh.. doesnt make sense your the one asking (what i think is a pretty straight forward question) .
@iceymanjack its probably to waste time cos they are tired. in singles you need alot of stamina and it takes alot out of you every round. or also to flick of sweat so it doesnt drip on to the court and make it slipery for the player.
wtf? wow i didnt put that. honestly. it wsant me i think either my computer is retarded or something. but honestly i didnt do that. i think those guys are amazing!
did anyone see Smith's interview after the 1st round? he said "I can definitely win the next game". I just thought he was being cocky, but shit son.... he did indeed win the next game. i guess it's too bad he got smoked in the 2 subsequent games after that, and got sent packin.
meh... i hate his face. i wanna slap it... hard.... wipe that smug expression off it and correct his arrogant disposition.
i dont think smith is that cocky, im not a fan, but he does respect the badminton giants like taufik and Lin Dan. He actually said:
"i can win the next game. It will be difficult but i can win it"... some might say thats cocky (as its Taufik lol) but i just think its positive, and in badminton, thats the right attitude.
Smth IS a great player... Only Taufik is better. Taufik is my favourite player, but i had to support Smith for this match, as i am English. I really hope Taufik wins the final against lin dan
I like back hand of taufik, very very good.

That's because:
a. He's playing against Andrew Smith, another great player &
b. This is the only title he hasn't won.
He had to be aggressive .
