Sometimes I feel half the people watching this could do better possibly even myself, but then again you'd be pissing when versing someone like Hidayat anyways, that would effect pretty negatively on every action you do or prediction you want to make on court.

But I love the way he walks around all arrogant, barely making eye contact with his opponent, If I or any of my sports college were there we'd be pretty happy, but thats mainly due to our lack of a reputation.

Your tennis analogy is fallacious. The two games are quite similar and the reason I asked the question is BECAUSE overhand serves are legal in tennis. Only a child wouldn't understand why a player must serve from a certain distance. My question was not about distance from the net, it was about technique. The two are mutually exclusive. Just apologize for calling my question stupid. You know you were wrong (and saying "no offense" before you insult somebody doesn't make things right).

first of all... tennis distance does matter.. how about i serve the tennis ball less than a meter away.. you think you can hit that ball? exactly.. however tennis the courts are much bigger therefore makeing it legal. however in badminton the court isnt that big. therefore its abit lik hitting the tennis ball 1 meter away from the net n telling the opponent to try n hit it... abit silly..

@iceymanjack its probably to waste time cos they are tired. in singles you need alot of stamina and it takes alot out of you every round. or also to flick of sweat so it doesnt drip on to the court and make it slipery for the player.
