  • nice sample bro, no hate, my opinion is that its a bit hallow, needs some backup instrumentals in there to make the track seem more dense... just my opinion, otherwise it has great potential, peace

  • The Traamps - Rubber Band.

    :)

  • The second one is shit

  • i like everything, but wtf is wrong with your right hand, and please dont tell me its on purpose for playing the mpc hehe

  • whats the best software to hook up a mpc on

  • shit came out amazing!

  • 2 quick qestions, one can i use this on protools ? and 2 will i be abble to hear my bpm ? thanks.

  • What program is he using?

  • he sampled this from j dilla

  • which is better a MPD or a MPK?

  • is there the rec in mpc 26?

  • Clean

  • thats dope thanks for sharing

  • yeah dude that beat is dope !

  • how do you make these sort of cuts with older tracks? i see a lot of hip hop producers doing it. sounds god too

  • whats a beter choice to go with for beginers: getting an mpk alone or geting an mpd? if i get the mpd alone i need another keyboard right? so wouldnt geting an mpk be easier since it basicaly has both of them? im obviously new to this kind of stuff so i need some help

  • nice

  • what program are you using to record onto and also are you using the preset beats

  • haha so much finesse. great work dude!

  • Nice Beat! What is the sample?

  • Comment removed

  • hay dose this have any trance beats that come with it

  • love it man u got the damn beat stuck in my head now loool

  • Are you using Akai Live Lite. Whats that synth/chop called?

  • BRO should i get his one i mena ( mpd2 ) or the akai xr20 ? im just staring and dont know which one i should go for

  • @seannopak25 get a akai mpd32

  • @seannopak25 if you are serious about making music, don't buy either of those. If you have a decent computer, just get some software, a turntable to sample records from, and a way to interface everything (maybe an Mbox). Or you can get a turntable and an mpc, just dont get an mpc 500, too tiny and and mpc 1000s and up, are much better. Also, get some good monitors, Yamaha hs80m are good. As for software, FL Studio, Reason, Acid Pro, Ableton, Cubase, these are all commonly used

  • brilliant!!!!

  • can you use the mpd 24 without computer?

  • @fressshhh1 Nope

  • The groove is great from 2:59 to 3:17. The rest I don't care for -- too busy and it loses the groove.

  • Everybody got a MPD 24...i got 1 to

  • nice dilla tribute

  • this great, what synth is that ?

  • what is the swing mode ?

  • P.S.

That milkshake is such a plug, lol!!

  • Why the hell would you use Windows XP for recording????? Like, I prefer Mac OS X, even though Windows 7 is basically the same shit, but XP???? Someone is due for an upgrade....

    Nice beat though, very trip-hop.

  • Good job man.

I'm looking for something like this just to help with Cubase both laying down basic drum tracks as a foundation and being able to tweak peramaters with the knobs via midi learn and mixing with the faders.

    will this unit do that?

    Thanks

  • are you playing the samples an the beat in the same time ?

  • you are AMAZING ! can you or anyone else tell me all the equipment you use for making these wonderful beats ? peace :)

  • 1:50

A remote control appeared magically. ;)

  • This beat is so sick!

  • I would just like to know, how did you set up the keyboard you used for the bassline? I have an M-audio O2 which is similar but its a midi like my mpd 26. but it keeps acting like the mpd

  • I love this joint, it's outstanding. I'm glad to see someone using a pc and modern digital equipment, but still working the old fashion way; cutting, chopping and manually playing stuff instead of letting the computer do all the work - Respect.

  • sick looping man.. love it!

  • Dam dude your beat is the shit! Keep them up.

  • good shit champ

  • Great video

  • are you using the drum kit that came with reason? or are you using a different drum kit?

  • my samples stop after i touch them. i have to keep my finger pressed on the pad so it can play the whole sample. why is this and how can i make it so i can tap it and it will play the whole sample?

  • @OxiCleanKillas Put the Release of the Dr Rex (if you use this one) all the way to the top, your sample will play until the end

  • @OxiCleanKillas You should put the release of your sample all the way to the top.

  • How did you do the magic with the remote and mouse 1:51 amazing!! I wish I could do that.

  • dope!

  • btw dilla uses this sample in one of is songs

  • omggg can you please help meeee

how did you get your song on to audacity, chop and then get it to your software... im using fl studio but i need help<3

  • @ananymous14312 I'm not too familiar with FL Studio. As far as audacity is concerned, I usually just grab 4 bars of a song (it can be continuous or different parts of a song), and then save the 4 bar chunk as an audio file (usually a wav or mp3 file). I then open up that audio file in Recycle and chop it up and save it as a Dr Rex file. I can then open up the Dr Rex file with any sampler that is available within Reason.

  • @xxdjajxx Please help???? How do i get a instrumental from my ipod onto my akai?????

  • @cp3onmtv963 assuming that you have an mp3 of the instrumental all you have to do is open up the file in recycle (another piece of software by propellerhead) and create a dr rex loop file (assuming that you are using reason)

  • @xxdjajxx hey man i just got this piece today and i was wondering if i could use it for live effects while mixing, similar to a kaoss pad or something.

  • @ananymous14312

In FL you can use the FPC channel to trigger sounds to your pads, but if you don't know how to chop, open up your mixer, click on a channel and then on the top drop-down menu on the right there you will find Edison, open up and simply drag a mp3 file into edison and make your chops. It's alot of videos here on youtube that explains this closer.

  • Hey bor jsut got an MPD26, any advise would be great, sick beats man you got skills, im new to the digital game and wanna learn, you have an email I can hit you up on?

  • i think dilla uses that sample, the song is called 'Dilla says go', from the album 'donuts'. Rest in peace dilla we miss you. :)

  • I have the mpd26, but its the same thing just an updated version. How do you load the samples in it from a song or old song like you did at 1:02? so i can chop it up...

  • some chill fuckin shit

  • i wanna get a beat maker for christmas, im just starting out. Does anyone recommend the MPD over the MPC? I dont want something real complicated

  • @ParkerP69 - It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you don't want something complicated, then go with the MPC as it is a self-contained unit. If you want something complicated, but you are planning to make music for awhile and may need more flexibility, then there are many more things you need to buy before the MPD as it is only a controller. Think of the MPD as a very specialized mouse. Music samples are actually stored in the digital audio workstation (DAW). Good luck.

  • Can you hook the MPD24 up to a turntable and chop the samples with it?

  • @BringHipHopBakToLife the MPD is just a midi controller. I chop up my samples using audacity and recycle.

  • @xxdjajxx how exactly how r u using audacity to chop samples, im kinda doing the same thing but dont have a midi controller to sequence what i slice

  • do u got to have recycle are audacity 2 sample

  • that shit was crazy big up to you homie

  • ooooohh!! the trammps!! you must be careful with that! =)

    love the chops!

    great beat man!

  • I love how you hit those pads with such accuracy! I can't believe I used to frown on the idea of sampling! I have been thinking of getting an MPD since my keyboard doesn't have touch sensitive keys, but I really don't feel I need it since I can edit all of the parameters through the software. I still want one though...

  • You can sample with this as you would with mpc

  • What type of software would you recommend? i purchased the Akai MPD 26 and im not looking for a good software to get the show on the road.

  • Dilla Made This Song Way Doper My Dude Sorry.

But You Just Prolly Heard His Beat Looked Up The Sample

And Then Wanted To Do It Yourself.

    DillaDawg Sounds More Fluent

  • what is an mpk??

  • @jamalload its a midi keyboard with drum pads like the mpd

  • @jamalload midi controller that has a keyboard and pads

  • @xxdjajxx From what song are samples which you used?

  • @mrozinho he sampled it from j dilla says no

  • good job dude.. !

  • Cool beat maker yo. If i get this exact same one.. How do i add the beats I want to each pad?

  • Hey was sup. My nephew said he wanted a beat maker or w/e. Im doing some research and I want to kno what are the differences between an Akai Mpc and Akai MPD? Sorry to bother. But I dont want to ask him cuz its a surprise. And also, I am aware of the MPC series 500, 1000 etc, what is the differences between each new one?

  • @NewYorkStateOfCrime MPCs and MPDs are completely different. Basically and MPC is a self-contained sampler and sequencer (i.e. you can produce an entire song just using that device). An MPD on the other hand requires you to have a computer with a DAW software (i.e. Reason, FL Studio, etc...). I haven't worked with the MPCs that much but the difference between the MPC 500 and the MPC 1000 is that the 500 has 12 pads and the 1000 has 16 pads. I recommend the 1000 if you are getting the MPC.

  • @xxdjajxx okay i understand. Thanks for the info.

  • @NewYorkStateOfCrime

I also recommend the mpc1000, i use either software and hardware i have the mpd24 and midi keyboard hooked up to reason and also i use my mpc1000

as stand alone sequencer and got a synth and sound module hooked up to it!

Also the 1000 has more midi ins/outs then the 500, so if you use another keyboard or drumcomputer/synth or whatever, you can also hook them all up to your mpc 1000 without buying an extra midi merger!

    Peace!!

  • @AnthonyEffects yep already knew that

  • Tight beat to flow 2

  • poor drum beat

  • awesome vid just subsribed

  • check my channels sampled song remixes!

  • the final product was pretty cool. It sounded like something Common would use

  • can you use this without a computer?

  • @han549 I don't think so, this is just a controller that works with DAWs

  • @han549 its a midi controller that can be used either with DAWs or sound modules

  • @han549 you can use it without a computer but you would need a sound module or sampler to go with it

  • @xxdjajxx was that a m audio oxygen 8? and did that bass line sound preset come with it?

  • @GreenMonstrocity yeah that was the first version I believe of the M Audio Oxygen 8. I think the bassline that I used was the Hyperbottom (it comes with Reason) with a few tweaks.

  • this beat is really sick! what song is it originaly?

  • @p0ntah J Dilla - Dilla Says Go

  • omg wut was that sample you was using man shit is bananas

  • damn, nice !

  • Are you recording the MIDI or just the audio?

  • ayye this sooo tightt..dude props ! i make beats with classic samples ..your good broo

  • @lem0nTbigsBy15 do you know sample this is

  • @MrJMILLIE noop ei searched far and wide for that sample

  • Really Great Beat. I Still have trouble chopping up and sampling beats. I usually make my beats from scratch, using stock instruments with the triton, reason and the emu mo-phatt sound module.

  • when i hear the first chop.. so siiiiiiick

  • that cup of starbucks made this video 10x gayer

  • @Gibude you must have enjoyed it 10x more than the average person

  • What software did you use on the computer?and was it mac or pc?

  • @quelocura I use both with Reason 4

  • good beat,.....

  • you wanna be my DJ xD!! I love the soul feel, and the old school dilla sound. Real music lives through people like you.

  • Ok so im trying to register the ableton live lite software that comes with the mpd26 an its not letting me iv registered the code online but not got sent the serial number??? Anyone know how to do this???

  • does it have a preset for motu bpm?

  • May I ask what you're using to make the basline? As in, what instrument is that?

  • pretty sick gonna get this

  • Nice beat man, I'm looking at an mpd, any advice for me?

  • Sorry Dont Mean To Burst Nothing But,

  • Nice bass line

  • You seem to hit the pad so effortlessly, my mpd26 requires you really hit it quite hard. Can you help me out?

  • @marko2989 If you go into the global configuration settings of your MPD, you can change the pad sensitivity settings and the pad curve settings so that you don't have to hit them soo hard. I think I change pad sensitivity to 16 and pad curve to 1

  • @xxdjajxx Thanks very much for the speedy reply! I've done that now, seem to have increased sensitivity a lot thanks! Is there a way where a single hit no matter how soft I hit the pad will still play the full length of the sample. My drum samples cut out unless I keep the pad pressed down until the full length of the clip is played (Even if its a matter of a split second). Thanks again!

  • @marko2989 It depends what program you are using and if you have pressure sensitivity on...if you just turn pressure sensitivity off it will be a lot easier. All programs have the option to do this as far as I know.

  • @mrmaoam How do you assign the sample chops?

  • @keilyngodson26 I'm using ableton, but it's pretty much the same in every program...just different interfaces. I just place a warp marker on ever half note or quarter note of the sample depending on how big I want the chops or sometimes if there aren't any drums on the sample I'm using I just grab specific noises with the warp markers...after I have the markers placed I chop one slice per marker and it just assigns them to the drum rack in order. Not to familiar with anything other than ableton

  • im diggin the way you flipped the sample but i dont really like the drums, but thats just me

  • this beat was hella sick when j dilla made it 4-5 years ago

  • this beat was hella sick when j dilla made it 4-5 years ago

  • dude make it longer its definitely worthy of any emcee

  • Hey man IM wondering... I just bought an MPD 26, and Im super lost. do you think you could make a tutorial video on this? Or if you got and MPD 26. I want to know how to make it so every pad is a different sound. Thanks.

And to anyone... Wanna help me out with my MPD 26?

  • @Pr0t0typeProductions mpd 26 is that same shit like a 24 , just look 4 tutorials on mpod 24

  • Where do you get your samples to chop from?

  • really nice ! wow :)

  • i got a head nod from just the drums, mucho passion excellent beat

  • nice beat im feelin the old school vibe

  • dilla used this...

  • Good shit. Sounds like something Gangstarr or Common could hop on.

  • what's with the sweatband? does it give you super powers or something?

  • @alohafromwaimea I wish it did. I actually have a condition called focal dystonia in my right hand. When I wear the wrist band it helps minimize the symptoms

  • @alohafromwaimea don't you feel like a dickhole now. Seriously though, this is a sick beat.

  • @alohafromwaimea well, don't you feel like a dickhole now. Seriously though, this is a sick beat.

  • @alohafromwaimea dont you feel like a fucktard

  • This is the best I've ever heard , and may God continue to bless you to create soooooo much more! This is Jpharroe saying your stuff is hot!

  • @jpharroe thanks man

  • with the mpd 26 can i improvise with it, for example just plug it in and assign different parts of a drum kit to each pad and play improvised as i go along? i use reason and fl studio BTW

  • @Vidmakr6302 Yeah if you use Redrum for example you can assign different drum sounds to each of the pads

  • OMG, I love your sounds. I would love to get my husband something like your system as a gift, right now he just uses FL on the computer, but i know he would love this. Got any suggestions on equipment?

  • that was dope bro.

  • but with which reason sampler you worked? (Nn-19, NN-XT, dr.Rex ?)

And how you cut these samples?

  • @EsuNavasOfficial I mostly work with the Dr Rex Loop Player. I chop my samples up using audacity and recycle.

  • whit whic software do yu use mpd ? sorry for my bad english :)

  • shot bro thats nice as! peace from NZ

  • do uy plug this into ur computer and away u go?

  • Hey i just bought my mpd26 got any tips on getting it setup and using it man. COuld really use some help.

  • i prefer the dilla version

  • What kind of keyboard did you use for the bass line? That beats bananas by the way

  • @Selfesteemstealer I used an M Audio Oxygen 8 keyboard with the Hyperbottom plugin in Reason

  • so awesome, wish i knew more about drum machines, gonna buy one some day should probs research them a bit!

  • yeah! this shit puts u out of alooot of trouble!!!

  • do you have the pads on full level, or have you hacked the 24?

I have a 32 and have to BASH it.(unless it's on Full Level. You seem to be just tapping it.

    Nice beat BTW

  • @patanagreg yeah I usually have the pads at the most sensitive setting. You can also buy MPC cork pads at mpcstuffdotcom

  • @xxdjajxx Nice video. Thanks for sharing. I just want to be clear on what you said about the pads. You are just using the pads on the most sensitive setting alone and NOT using the MPC cork pads along with the most sensitive setting. I know this is redundant, but I just want to be sure I understand what you meant. I am getting the MPD 26 and I am a bit concerned about the pad problem. I am not into making beats I just want to record my guitar riffs and vocal samples and do some experimentation .

  • @phillydude68 I was saying try using the mpd with the pads at the most sensitive setting first. If that doesn't work for you then you can get the cork pads to make them even more sensitive. Right now I am just using the pads at the most sensitive setting.

  • @xxdjajxx Thanks a lot . Take care.

  • @phillydude68 right now I am just using the pads at the most sensitive setting, but if you wanted them to be even more sensitive then you can get the cork pads
