My issue is that people state so vehemently that dr G is alive, as if they know for a fact, or as if it can't be any other way, when there is absolutely NO solid evidence to suggest it. Whether someone is alive or not has nothing to do with how often they appear in the movies. Xavier is also supposedly in saw 7, and he's long dead. So is Jigsaw. Bottom line is, there is NO evidence he is alive, and plenty that he's dead.

I am just going by what I saw in the movie and Tapp was sliced in the neck by Jigsaw, then later shot by Zep in the same place. Technically, he should have been dead before he chased down Zep because of the excessive blood gushing from his neck after being slashed by Jigsaw. If he's still alive, then Saw VI should at least bring that into the storyline because this could be the last one of the series. Not only that, but news of Dr. Gordon being alive or not still remains to be known.

The human body is a fasinating organism,it could with stand most brutalist injuries and can repair it self, thus when a body is cut in half the body is able to bypass the the lower body(the legs) and the blood could keep flowing ...so Dr.Gordon could still be alive...This was my theroy of saw 5 but this is impossible because cary elwes(dr.gordon) got sued and is not in the saw 5 cast

In a way it does open the door for the possibility of him returning. We know he's part of the 16 that have been tested, dead, or still missing.
