  • 3 people were left deaf after listening to this... I have the pleasure on working on these power house machines for a living. Cool video thanks for posting>

  • thumps up if this wasted your time

  • I love how the driver gunned the hell out of dis bus right here. The jakes are killers too.

  • Poor bus, sounds like she stuck in neutral lol

  • and @pokemonultramanfan this bus is 13.716 meters

  • WoW, tht B/O gave that 60 quite a workout!! Nice audio!

  • @B43Limited

Dont worry about the 60,it will be just fine, just hope the B/O does not underestimat that thing or he'll be sorry.

  • @mmffl123456 Absolutely true.

  • how long(in meters)is this bus???

  • Oooh yess this is a real bus right here mmmmhhmmmm i approve!

  • They are MUCH more luxurious than SEPTA. The most luxurious are the bathroom-equipped buses!

  • great audio dude

  • Just Listen To That Quality Of That Detroit 60 Series. Impecable! Simply The Very Best.

  • Love that Series 60 engine.

  • The Series 60 was a very powerful awesome engine. Since Detroit Diesel won't be making them no more, The 2010 MCI Buses will probably be Detroit DD15 powered

  • Nope!!!! The new MCI's will have Cummins Engines in them now. CAT and Detroit Diesel is no longer making engines for buses anymore!

  • The only Cummins engine that I can think of is the ISX, because I read that the Cummins ISM is going to be terminated by the end of 2009.

  • Either the Cummins ISl or ISX...you could be right though!!!

  • Speaking of Cummins ISX engines, I saw a International Truck out in Dunwoody, GA and I believe that was definietly an ISX, because it sound a lot more powerful than the ISM engine. Just imagine how MCI Buses would sound with the ISX engines

  • I haven't heard an ISX engine yet!

  • It sort of has a tough sound similar to the Series 60 almost

  • One of these days i will try to check it out

  • I think here on YouTube, they might have some trucks with ISX engines

  • Cool..I'm gonna check it out now

  • Wow! That's going to suck.....Major Big Time Without Both Detroit 60 Series & Cat Diesels. Ouch!

  • well the CATs I can care less about, but my DD60's? That's gonna be a mission to get over. I LOVE the power of those buses!

  • Some people say the CAT's take off faster, its all in the engine programming. I've encountered on Series 60 with the 'low gear torque limiting' totally disabled, black smoke poured out when you were on that gas between 0-30, and when you stepped on the gas from a dead stop the turbo spooled instantly and you were off, because it was giving 100% power, not limiting it like the sound on this one, notice all the power builds right at 2nd gear shift, thats the power being limited till then.

  • I still can't believe that both Engine Companies are not making engines for bus companies anymore. Detroit Engine Company..If you can read my plea & hear my cry..,Please start making engines for the Bus Manufactors. I already missed the DD 50 & 60 series. Not much of a "Cat" man, But they're a welcome site too.

  • Yup....me neither! CATs are garbage! DD's RULE!!!!

  • I agree with you on that one 100%...,Respectfully.

  • Detroit diesel all the way man!! What are the DD 15's like??

  • They sound as what you could say..., "Very Professionally Sound". They sound absolutely Beautiful In Every Aspect. Trust Me When I Say This.

  • Yo rts9100 you won't believe this, but I just read that on Nov 27, 2009 that MCI Buses will be powered with DD15 engines after all. If you go to Google and then type in detroit diesel for 2010 bus engines

  • So Bus Manufactors will get the option of choice engines "Including The Newest Detroit" ? Thank God! Because i'm not much of a "Cat" fan at all. Thanks for the info.

  • Yeah man! I'm so thrilled that Detroit is coming back, because I think I'd go crazy if buses in the future were only Cummins powered. Detroit Diesel Rules!

  • I will have to totally agree with you 100% on that one my Man and once again thanks for the "Heads Up" update. Now i can rest easy now that Detroit is Back On The "Bus" Map.

  • You're welcome! Man Detroit Diesels are the best

  • There's none other out that performs better or out last a Detoit right from "Our" own back yard. Detroit trumps "All" other diesel makes "In Spades"! Peroid!!!!!

  • Thats right preach the truth

  • It's Only right that i do "speaketh" The Truth. Someone needs to LOL! Detroit Diesel Lives!

  • Next stop Howell Garage

  • MCI makes the best motorcoaches by far. Bar None. Period! There's no substitute!

  • sounds like this was recorded from the bathroom at the back of the bus.

  • The D series reminds me of an air plane with its wheel base and sloping, compare it to the shape of a Van Hool that looks like a box toy.

  • It's funny, I reed that the D series was MCI competition to the Prevost H series. I suprize Prevost never built an anwer to the E4500. I would have been nice if they did.

  • when you think about it the xl-2 le mirage was the Prevost answer to the D-series the H3=45 compared to the e model i have both as motorhomes and you can really tell the difference

  • Actualy I reed somewhere that the D series was compared to the H series. I the 80's when Prevost lunch the H3-40 all MCI had near it was the 102 C3 basily an up dated 102 A3, so I think in the early MCI lunched the D series

to compete and out do both the H serise and Van Hool T 800. The D series has the advantiage of being 45 feet long, when most of the other coaches was only 40 feet.

  • Fuckin love these busses. The D series is the only bus that you see a million times on the road in one fucking minute and never get bored of seeing it.

  • I totally agree I absolutely love DL3's.

  • I see a lot of video and photo of both NYMTA and NJ Transit DL3/D4500. I know a lot of these are use on the NJ-NYC route, but are these also use on presigest routes with in NYC or NJ?

  • i think personally the MCI 102 DL3 is one of the best MCI buses ever built besides MCI 9

  • I could agree with you more

  • @metroktransit are single or double doors optinal

  • @gtasandman

    Optional.

  • @mmffl123456 thanks

  • @Aviationrocks14 D4500 and D4000s are the best hands down.

  • Which seat were you Sitting at on the Bus 7481?

  • D4500 is MCI longest saling bus since the MC 5. It may not be as fancy or heavy as a E or J 4500, but it get the jod done! I really thought that the G series was going to reaplace D series.

I a fan of the series 60, especaily now that it 14L.

  • The D4500 is way too popular for them to even think about replacing it. It sells more then any other bus model.

  • I love me a DL3, the best ones are the PRE-EGR 2002 Series 60's!

  • I drive for a living for peter pan trailways & that sound once you put your foot on the gas, you feel nothin' but power on the D'Series. Fantastic job my friend. It's like i'm driving it.

  • Does Peter Pan D4500s have Jbrakes?

  • Love that sound! They sounded almost like the CAT-C13 ACERT engine!

  • No were near it sounded like C13....

  • sounds dam near like Greyhound's DL3s.

  • Hell yeah!! I have a DL3 Recording from Greyhound sound ima upload, your gona be in a puddle when you hear that Jake Brake!

  • oh thats an instant add! lol

  • I love these buses

  • What line was this recorded on?

  • 67 rt

  • Try see if you can those Hybrid buses that are based out of Ironbound Garage(4004-4007), D4000s.

  • sounds like she gots the turbo lag

  • thats pretty much normal since half these buses's turbochargers spit a ton of boost pressure.

  • Nice! That boy sounds awsome!

  • nice this is a 13 m bus that goes from NYC to Six Flags

  • YEAH!!!! ALL RIGHT!!! IT Rocks!! Keep the Detroit Diesel Sounds Coming IT Purrs like a 45 Foot Kitten Straight out of the Jungle.

  • sounds amazing

    THANK YOU FOR POSTING!

reminds me of my highschool trips with lenzner!
