i like them both.... but the bootleg series sounds more personal i guss.... like he's beside you. the ablum make it sound just like a regular old album..but he's still cool..he's dylan for crying out loud!!!!!!!!
The best singer, song writer the world has ever known. Genius a word often used for lesser mortals should in Bobs case be written thus GENIUS so the world at large can differentiate between the dross and the DYLAN.
Far superior to the album version in my opinion. This song flows so much better as a solo acoustic piece. Dylan's harp and vocals are stellar on this cut.
This version is so good it gives me the chills. Love the studio version as well, but this sounds like something he left off "Freewheelin'". He puts most other songwriters to shame with songs he just whips off. He is my Zeus. Long Live Bob!!!!
Robbie! It made to the tube. Just found it & was posted on my Dad's death anniversary....Just more connections...I'm dying to hear your version ! Peace♥ Love Paula
Right on Paula It's because of you I heard this version in the first place..and the Date this was recorded on..wow! I'm blown away. Just wants to make me do a good version for you : ) xo
He has the amazing ability to put into words events and emotions we have felt in our lives.

I prefer the album version, the tone better matches the loneliness of the lyrics.

I agree, best version, great album, top production on this one, stripped down and real.
slackerno1975 3 years ago 6
I think this is the best version.

Genius. a thousand times genius. what this man calls his scraps would be any other artists greastest hits.

top version... the man can do no wrong.

I think this is the way Dylan wanted it to sound like in the end. I think he wasn't satisfied with the final recording of it.
