I took propecia for two years. My doctor told me right off the bat that there was a risk of sexual dysfunction. I took it anyway. I never notice any side effects the two years I took it.
It did stop my hair loss while I was on it, and my hair got a bit thinker. One negative thing I will say about it. I stopped taking it for a year, and started again. The second time around the drug had no effect on my hair loss. So I stopped taking it cause it wasn't working anymore. Also its expensive.

I´ve been taking Finasteride for 15 months now and the results have been amazing. There may be other factors involved in my hairloss, but this stuff helped a LOT, without any side effects so far. Of course you have to buy generic 5mg versions and cut it into fifths. This way you spend like a tenth of what you would spend for Propecia. Just be smart, get cheap finasteride and lower your dose or quit taking it if you experience any side effects. It would be dumb not to try it.

first i reduced the dose because of the side effects, but then i stopped it completly because there was no difference.

I used this drug for 6-months back in 2000 and suffered PERMANENT SEXUAL DYSFUNCTION!
