Even in hardcore (Which is much more similar to real-life)... you can still drop into second chance, know exactly where all types of equipment is, survive grenades, not get affected by stun and flash grenades, and avoid UAVs by wearing a ghillie suit. Call of Duty is a total mis-representation of combat, with hardcore or core. In hardcore you can also shoot somebody in the foot with a ballistic knife and it would kill them.
