Actually Juan and his donkey were cocaine smugglers that netted millions of dollars in drug profits and used the coffee beans to throw the scent of the drug dogs off. Sadly, Juan and the donkey ( the donkeys real name was Pedro La Cocoa ) were gunned down in a fierce gun battle with other Colombian drug lords trying to muscle in on Juan and Pedro's business.
