i think blackmores night would sound much better if ritchie could get candice to sing metal songs i want to hear her scream like bruce dickinson i think she would sound good singing metal but i think ritchie prefers the neo classical style of rock more and its good to see he still has that sunburst 70,s strat from the rainbow days i havent seen him use a strat since 1995 as im not a big follower of blackmores night so i had no idea he still uses it so thatsgood to see
i am a greeeeeeeeeeeeeeat fan of richie, and with every thing that he has written including bl.night...i love listening to him when he speaks , plays.....in rainbow or d.purple .HE IS A LEGEND....i only have one question.......why does he NEVER ,EVER SMIIIIIIIILE?????????????????????
Ritchie Blackmore: I created two of the greatest bands of all time; I am the greatest guitarist of all time; I can play whatever I want cos I know it's gonna be a huge success; last but not least, my wife is a bloody hot blond with a voice of an angel...I think I have a good life.
There is just something wrong with a 66 year old man wearing a toupee and pantyhose...It is fucking creepy.Blackmore looks like a garden gnome! It's one thing to wear a costume on stage when performing, but when the costumes become a lifestyle that doesn't really exist you have serious mental issues. Also, Candice Night may be eye candy but her voice is mediocre at best.......
Even though his guitar playing is still great I just can't take this Gnomeo and Juliet routine seriously.
I stumbled across Blackmore's Night while searching for a new artist to listen to and have fallen in love with their style. In my opinion, some of the best music is the cross-genre music. I like all types from Classical to New Age to Metal, etc. This type of music has that "old soul" feel to it mixed with modern instrumentation. Love the work this band is doing and hope they continue and possibly inspire more.
The fact that Blackmore's Night doesn't really fit into any genre is what makes it so unique and wonderful. All of their songs sound different from each other and other artists' songs.
I wonder if Ritchie ever explained 'snobbery to; Ian Gillian, Rodger Glover, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, JImmy Bain, Tony Carey, Grahm Bonnet, RJD, Elf........and all the others who were 'snobs'.
Isn't it obvious the man in enjoying himself? What, you thought he was going to spend the rest of his life trying to please--who? You? Hahaha, get over it.
I was so depressed that Blackmore went in this direction. I miss the days when he used to rock!! I met Blackmore back in '94, just after he left Deep Purple, at a Long Island bar named The Handle bar in Mount Sinai. He's a decent chap. He helped me look for my girlfriend's keys. I drank a beer with him, and he told me that he he left deep purple cause he was tired of Gillan's voice.
i dont get it. I expected something much less embarrassing from this cat..... this is like some kinda reality show on an a couple's act that gets their rocks off playing .. whatever THIS cheesy shit it??. is this REALLY BLACKMORE this is like a medieval pop country elevator band PLEASE are you REALLY that pussywhipped or easily bought or whatever it is dude, just pleaaaze RELEASE the Heavy
@SurvivalBayArea He's been into this music since he was a teenager, and even in old interviews he'll tell you that, back when Candice was like 4 o 5. So in other words, he's playing what he wants to play and if you don't like it grow up.
Oh please stop....IT's pretty obvius that he is enjoying what is doing...He wanted to lieave deep puprple and he did it...There's no reason doing something to please you...That's funny and pathetic...If you dont like it dont listen to his music...
I do like rock music but also in this he does a great job...
Discovered them at uni back in '98 and Shadow of the Moon remains my favourite of their's to this day....although they have one or two other good ones as well ;o)
This is a fine band merging very difficult concepts....medieval/renaissance stuff with very nice hard rock......a lot of the opposition opinions remind me of the objections to Nix and Cristine McVie when they joined Fleetwood Mac ..Blackmore is an extremely gifted and tastefull guitarist...my only critique is that they could do some actual Medieval ballads with some gore and death....as the lyrics are a bit on the light side...but the the whole band is very tight and hot
I flippin luv this band - I'm a rocker/shredder from the 80s hair band days and I simply LUV Blackmore's Night - Candice, Ritchie, and the whole band are sensational and I luv what their about and what they do!!!
I miss Ritchie's hardrock days, but I like Blackmore's Night. I don't think Ritchie was happy playing hardrock. He was tired of Deep Purple, so he left, he tried Rainbow fora few years, but decided that BN is what he wanted to do.
Richie is 100% on the money. There is way to much snobbery. Big & Rich sang it best in their song "Rollin", "why do they try to complicate the simple music that we make because if it moves my soul, I'm rollin rollin".
As a musician myself, I for one respect and admire the palette of tones he and his band are creating. He's picky, prickly and brilliant. He has cause to demanding and has earned the right to demand exactly what he wants musically.
Forget the ren-festy vibe, thats just a part of it. Leave your pre-conceptions at the door and really listen to the tones He's doing his best work in his life right now. Good music is good music. And this guy is a master craftsman with a wonderful lovely muse.
Not only that, but he's an amazing guitarist also! To be able to switch from rock to classical picking and back to rock again is something you just don't see very much.
Ritchie Blackmore is one of UK's best guitarist for over 40 years now. He is amazing talent. Some people remember him from his rock days, but I like his current style.
Too bad the Renassiance Faire didn't think you weren't authentic enough to play there - They should've bowed to you because I wouldn't have attended if it wasn't for Rainbow back in the 70's
What the fuck happened to Blackmore, he serious lost a few marbles along with that wife or girlfriend of his. The man is a God on guitar but, why does he think it is the medieval days again???
In some ways, the quality of Blackmore's playing comes through more consistently in his acoustic than electric work. He's one of the few rock guitarists who's taken the time to approach the acoustic guitar on its own terms, rather than playing it like an electric. Nonetheless, I totally miss hearing him rip through stuff like "Kill the King" and "Still I'm Sad."

So many think of Ritchie as just a guitarist and miss the fact that he is one of the greatist writers in music history.
