  • You have balls to take this on. Especially without drones. Well done.

  • em this is just a pure copy cat of John Mc Sherry! U do not hav your own style. U also made a mistake.

  • Maith an fear thú a Caoimhín!

  • Freddy Krueger does a fine job on the pipes

  • Great Job Brother!

  • Wow, that sounds awesome man! I just bought my first practice set. How long hav eyou been playing?

  • Since I heard John McSherry's version of this, I've found it utterly entrancing. I glad to say you did it justice! Nice job...

  • I feared as much!! nice playing big man and good luck with your drones!! once again great playing old fruit! :O)

  • I feared as much!! one of the most haunting tunes ever composed.Once again well played big man!! I loved it and all the best with the drones!!

  • Very nice!! sounds really good your comment about the drones made me laugh :O) can this be played on the GHP?? if so where can I get the notation?

  • @Bigirishcunt

I doubt this will go on the GHBs as it's making good use of the two octaves of the Uilleann chanter. Unfortunately us GHB players are somewhat limited in the tonal range department. I'd love for this tune to be playable on my border pipes, but alas...

Kevo32a - nicely done to you. Best of luck getting your drones in working order :D

  • you should post another video of this with the drones turned on. the drones really give this song that haunting quality.

  • i'd love to but they don' work at the moment. someday though.

  • how long did it take for u to learn the uilleann pipes

  • very close to mcsherry's version! congrats! it's beautiful! i tried attempting this on low D tin whistle... you just can't get the same epicness with a flute though.

  • hello, me again jejeje, is hard learn this pipe?

  • Nice playing mate.

Just a pity the drones were off

  • not as much of a pity as you'd think. you should hear me playing when i turn them on.

    thanks

  • What kinda chanter is that mate. Who made and what else sounds very nice.

  • my chanter and reed were made by John Mitchell of Bishopstown Co. Cork. they are a fantasic set but the reed has been better.

  • One of the most beautiful slow airs.

Playing is not as bad to,What chanter is that!its got the same head as leo Rowsome chanter like the one my dad has.

    take care.

  • nice doinna, one cuestion the chanter what tune is?

  • the chanter is normal D tuning. probably a bit flat at the moment. reed isnt in great condition.

  • If I may ask. Who is the maker of your chanter and reed?

  • my chanter and reed were made by John Mitchell of Bishopstown Co. Cork. they are a fantasic set but the reed has been better. i must get a new one to be honest...

  • Nice playing, and very similar to McSherry's version indeed.

    thanks for subscribing, btw=)
