@stonee206 i think getting you from A to B all the time with no faults for years and years and doing it on the cheap is a caracteristic on its own, it also doesnt rust as quick as others of its era, how many 93 mondeos do you see on the road? infact how many 98 mondeos do you see on the road? still plenty of 93,94 and 95 carina E's!
@TG1986IRL You 're right 100% my friend!!! I have a Carina E from 1992...In my country (Greece) most of Carina's E are still in the roads...Where are Mondeo '93 or Passat '93 or Vectra, Audi 80,Peugeot 405,Renault 21,Alfa 155 ect??????NOWHERE...
@stonee206 Oh yes...And that's why almost 20 years after the 1st generation most of Carinas are still in the roads...WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF CARS I THINK...CARINA E FOR EVER...
@stonee206 I totaly disagree...The first generation of Carina E has 1.6 engine with 115hp and it is ONLY 1.065 kg! That means 9.2 kg/hp! (0 - 100 km in 10.7 seconds, Top Speed 195 km/h).If you have any idea of cars (I think that you have), it is easy for you to understand what I'm saying.Except that, Carina E has EXCELLENT QUALITY...Carina E is one of the best cars that ever made in the whole word and the best Toyota's car EVER...
I have a Carina E Estate 2.0 TD. I've always hated the modern toyotas since they went to front wheel drive, but I had to buy this car as I was stuck. I'm grudgingly getting to like it. It's given me a small bit of bother but that's mainly age and mileage related. It's a good car but boring to drive.
@patsyaaa What are you talking about???Compare Carina e '92 - '97 with the German cars of the same period:VW Passat, Opel Vectra, Ford Sierra, Audi 80...All these cars had better safety than Carina e? I don't think so...Carina e was the best car of the category, much better than the German cars.Just look around in the roads of your country...How many German cars of the period '92 - '97 you will see?Only a few...Thousands of Carinas are still in the roads of Europe...
@MrDionisis7 Ha ha ha...Xantia???You mean Citroen Xantia???I will tell you ONLY ONE thing:1.600cc and ONLY 89 hp....Carina has 115hp...In your country how many Xantia are in 2011?Only your Xantia maybe???HA AH HA...THOUSANDS OF CARINA E ARE IN THE ROADS OF EUROPE...

1993, wich good mid-size cars could you buy?
The Nissan Primera
The Mazda 626
The Honda Accord
...
Oh
And this Toyota Carina E
They last forever ;)
FrightfulAccountant 2 years ago
@FrightfulAccountant
Come on...Carina E is much better than all these cars...
The first Primera,on 1992,for example, had 175/80/13(!!!) wheels...
626 and Accord are not so popular...
Carina E 1.6 Gli...
115ph
0 - 100: 10.3''
Hight speed 195 km/h
And only 1065 kg
78989795 2 years ago 4
They are all quite good cars to drive to be honest.
I drove the Carina GT and that was a damn good car. And fast for a family car as well.
But the Accord and the 626 where at least enjoyable as well.
