How come people use the vxl motor? because doesnt the mamba motor have more power and torque? But with the mamba if i have a vxl motor can i make my rustler go faster with the system, or should i just get the mamba motor too because if i run like 12 cell or 4s lipo wouldnt the vxl not be able to handle that? It depends on what you want to get out of your electric RC...most people think the higher Kv's the faster their car will go, which isn't the case because the higher Kv's can't handle the power of big batteries. 3s lipo on a 5700kv set up is faster than 2s lipo on a 7700kv set up.
thats also true because theres way less power available on the 2s lipo, 3s lipo adds another 3.7V along with the same Mah, the 3s will pretty much be faster all the time.

the mamba max esc is great. very adjustable, the motors are ok. The ESC is certainly an upgrade from the vxl, if you already have it I would stick with the vxl motor. Yes you can use a fan.

that thing should be going way faster than that, and its bogging big time doing the donuts, you either have really bad batteries or your motor is toast
did that motor fit in the rustler just fine or did u have to do some slight modifing to it

lipo wil wrek anyhting else because of it's discharge rate if u get a +40c discharge lipo you will get insane acceleration out of a 600w+ motor

My point exactly, but there are some idiots who try to run 3 or 4s lipos on 6900 and 7700 kits and straight FRY the engine and ESC lol.

thats cause theyre pumpin 11.1 volts into a motor that spins 7700 rpm per volt, thats like 85000 rpm. no motor is gonna hold up to that.

Did you get overheat prblms with that gear? I'm thinkin gear mine to 15/90 or 17/90,to get real big high speed, hope not get overheat.

yes, it ran hot. I could make 4-5 passes then let it cool. this was just 1 day for fun, I usually ran 17/90 with moabs on 7 cell nimh.

that's all a matter of personal opinion. I much prefer electric, especially brushless. Some people rather prefer nitro.
