  • It's not Vince, actually I think this song is about her 1st husband & her wishing they could work it out. She knew long before they separated that he was slipping away.

  • Love this vid

  • I remember listening to this video on christian radio when it came out. It reminded me of times when I was lonely and wished I had some christian friends to hand out with. That's what I thought the video was about. But the video isn't so innocent. It reminds me of a woman entangling herself in sexual sin. I try to put myslef in her shoes to try and justify playing around in a video with a man who is not my husband and I just can't justify it. It's just wrong.

  • always remind......teh good time when i was spend my time wiht you

  • I KNOW AMY'S MUSIC OVER 20 YEARS AND I USE PLAYED AMY'S SONGS LIKE DJ.SHE GOT NICE AND REALLY ROMANTIC SONGS.

AMY U MAKES MY WORLD BETTER M.

  • yes she is married to vince gill, we are from nashville and see them out from time to time. i have been a fan for 25 years!

  • Is that Vince Gill that she's with, does anybody know? (I know it doesn't show his face, but I was just curious.)

  • @kj3416

No this was way before vince gill . He is her 2nd Husband.

  • @skinnydude911 Yeah, I knew that, I just didn't know if that was him or not. Thanks for the info! :D

  • i love this song! :)

  • In hindsight, this video says a ton. According to Wikipedia, this is when Gary Chapman became addicted to cocaine.

  • i know this song is considered 'old', and im not a major amy grant fan, but i love this song. My mom listened to her all the time when i was little, so she seems like a part of me.

  • @SouljaFag5 I'm sorry that your ignorant and judgmental if you don't like her music don't listen to it or comment on it you are one of very few people who think that she is "evil" get your facts straight

  • Crying at this :(

  • I cried at this :(

  • Q' canción! Xclnte...

  • Deep, spooky, mysterious, to the core, pure, innocent and longing love! One of the best, if not the best, Amy Grant song!

  • Brilliant and uplifting song. Brilliant and beautiful artist. What a blessing she was back then and what a blessing she is today. Thank you Amy for seeing me through some tough times. How many lost souls has she guided to God? Amy is an angel here on Earth.

  • great times! Everyone was happier in those decades!!

  • will you guys tell me the song that goes like: odios say vaakoneels

  • whats this hanger this nerdgirl have on?...:P..aehm.. on the picture..:P

  • Brings back memories,

  • This was the song that may me an Amy Grant fan. It also recalls many emotional memories of me of love and love lost to time. I can only trust that in the timelessness of God's love that all wounds of the heart are healed.

  • Amy is amazing. This is when she opened up the door to the world and connected with what was deep inherent with human nature. To need and be needed. God bless.

  • Great tune! It was one of two new songs included on one of Amy's greatest hits albums entitled 'The Collection'. This song features Richard Page (Mr. Mister) on backing vocals

  • Lovely memery

  • Nice song. Reminds me a lot of stuff. :)

  • nyleah411

That is indeed the former lead singer for Mr. Mister Richard Page. They just released a "new" album that their record company had been sitting on for 20 ish years plus he has been going steady with solo work of his own. His voice is as powerful and haunting as ever!

  • Does anyone know who the guy was who sang at the end of the song? Was it Gary Chapman? His voice reminds me of the lead singer of Mr. Mister.

  • I LOOOOOOOOVVVVEEE THISSS SONGGGG!!! But see for me, ive grown up AROUND the music of today, bu this is the music I grew up on, the music i still listen to even though im in the eighth grade.

  • Lovely, sad, haunting, touching and sweet song. Todays songs are just BAD when compared to this lady and her music. She was so pretty too, and so natural!

  • great memories of 1986

  • And one of the best smiles of anyone in show business too!

  • Classic Amy! Love this song! Love this video!

  • ...1986, my best time of life when along with this haunting song i enjoyed the innocence of my childhood,,, ahh, every musical phrase of this piece hleps me vividly recall every event of it,,

  • Great song! It used to cheer me up coming home from a hard days work the summer before I started college so many years ago.

  • This song is nostalgic therapy.

  • loved the way it ended. tiiight!!!

  • A primeira vez que vi este vídeo eu tinha 16 anos, estava na sala dormindo e acordei com o início do vídeo... jamais vou esquecer a senssação de paz e felicidade que senti ao ver a Amy. Esta canção é linda e a minha preferida!

  • You are amazing and you are the inspiration

  • Amy Grant....what a haunting song...She has such a sweet compassionate heart. And all of her songs either obviously reveal a loving Father, or give an echo of Faith. Her Ministry has been an encouragement to many ppl struggling with this life. God Bless you Amy for your Honesty and courageous Faith

  • Amy Grant is Amazing

    Rock on!

  • Amy Grant is Amazing

  • 1986...what a formative year for so many of us out there...anyway, you gotta love Richard Page on this tune helping out on BV's

  • I've always liked Amy Grants music, even though it's not my usual style:)

  • Beautiful to 'see' this haunting song....memories of '86 and what has been for many a 25 year journey-so far with Amy. Her words and wisdom-providing comfort and magic moments, innocence and love; just to "remember the days gone by". "Please stay"?-just to remember 'a moment'..... and all that God has given us and more since that 'moment'. (I agree with MMM..) A wonderful career continues-thanks for posting.

  • this is one of my favs of hers...it makes me think of what i wanna say to my family that lives so far from me...i love them so much...

  • i cant believe this is Amy grant. Definitely much differently portrayed in her new music now. Its kinda cool though she's like one of those glamor girls of the 80s. kinda reminds me of Lincoln brewster when he was in Journey. lol

  • To My Beautiful Sister Diana (Di Di)... I MISS YOU and LOVE YOU SOOOO much every single day my best friend!!!!! 12/27/66-9/2/01

  • Is Amy Mormon? Just a question. It seems to me her religion is always a hot topic on her song posts.

  • @SweetSesatia She was raised Southern Baptist and at 14 joined a non-denomintional church. I believe she still attends the same church in Franklin.

  • Wow...all of a sudden I am back in my 20's again! I remember this video very well. Just love Amy. Peace be with all who watch this.

  • this song reminds me of Christine/Roaul lol

  • what can i say , just brill love this song xxxx

  • Classic Amy Grant--fun, full of life! Great stuff!

  • I Love This Amy Grant 1986 Music Video, "Stay For A While," Which Became The #1 Christian Hit In America.

  • I think this song is so just very relaxing. People may criticize Amy for doing a different style of music, but don't we all explore other options in life at one time or another and still manage to remain true to who we are! Excellent song!

  • From 4:12 to the end.. The cinematography and music is Awesome along with the great backing vocals by Richard Page of Mister Mister.

  • This song is beyond its time I have the right Vox to cover it. I want to, I truly lov this song!!!!!

  • This is so weird how much I cant stop listening to this old song!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHHAHH! oh lord whats happening to me? Naw I have always loved AG I just forgot about you! Its been like probley over 20 years since I listend to ya! And Im only 34 years old so that was like when I was 12 whoa I love this song. My parents made me go to the castle in Charlevoix MI to see you on yer lead me on tour I am so glad I did now Cause I realized your one of the best musicians ever. Peace out Amy.

  • They've made this into a romantic song with the images of Amy and a guy-- but if you just listen to this, it is a great song for reuniting with all sorts of friends from your past. A great Class Reunion song... for sure!

  • probably my favy amy grant song of all-time...makes me always rememeber the old days and this time period

  • I hope she found the love of her life will Gill...her songs seem to indicate an idealism that was measured up with her previous husband.

  • Walk with the Lord with all your Pride and Joy. Never let Pride come in. But release it.

  • Beautiful. Haunting reminds me of someone I once loved.

  • Amy Grant was never suppose to be the 'bearer' of the cross-over cross - it is just how the songs worked their way onto the charts. Since then and even now with this song and video, it is clear that someone in management with Amy Grant felt differently . . . this video and song is my second all time favorite!

  • Back before this song, Amy was castigated for being a "crossover" artist.. I never once lost my love for her, and thought the criticism was misplaced. I still feel that way 20 years later. Amy Grant has made such an awesome place for herself. And while my friends were getting into Madonna, I kept with Amy Grant, and I wouldn't change a single thing, even if I could. This song will always be close to my heart.

  • One of my favorites of all time!

  • i love
