  • its scary, but i honestly think scariest film of all time is a huge overstatement

  • @MrTiki7690 How is it a huge overstatement? Is it so difficult for people to understand their opinion is not the only one that matters? Millions of people still find this film more frighting than any other, it still gets voted as the scariest movie every year, and it has affected and made an impact on people more than any other horror movie. Just because YOU didn't find it the scariest, doesn't mean everyone else is wrong.

  • @AwesomeLexi5 Fuck you, this movie is awesome.

  • and that ladies and gentlemen is why i keep in every room of my house a whole bag full of holy water ballons ready for action. thank you.

  • This music is a lot scarier.

  • lucky i don't have a stair case in my house

  • Fucking hell. That is so much scarier than the one with the blood in the mouth. The blood scene is too visual, nothing left to the imagination. This one is just fucking freaky, the camera shot when she is coming straight at you is just right. And to all the people who say it's funny, I just don't get you.

  • omfg omfg omfg I watched this movie when I was 7 and now i'm 13 and I still can't sleep when I think about it. Why the f*ck am I watching this?!?!

  • @MaggieLepe very intriguing isn't it?

  • The tongue is not scary but it is creepy because she is sort of acting as the devil is portrayed at times like having serpent qualities and the cute little girl having this weird long tongue is just creepy..... and she is not trying to lick she tries to bite the womans leg in the book

  • so this version is only on that documentary?

  • i likje this version best

  • Thats the most fucked up and scary scene of film history i've ever seen O_o

  • This... was disturbing.

  • why is this not in the movie...I watched it a couple nights ago and never saw this scene???

  • yeah they cut this. they should of put this scene straigth after when carris (or how ever you spell his name) jump out of the window, because it would of been like the demon is still a little bit in her and it was crawling down the stairs trying to get back to carris body. oh well. apparently their is a first draft of this movie which was ment to be better than the ones that have been released?

  • not watching...just sharing to torture others...

  • def. wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. But this was such a cool movie.

  • holy ffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkkkkkkkk this scared the living shit out of me

  • It's an epic film & it doesnt matter if people find it scary or not.. Ive never seen an audience react to a movie such as this one back in the day.. I'm thinking about getting a tatt of captain Howdy's face..

  • so is this the real version or is the one where the blood comes out of her mouth the real version?

  • @frivilouscakes This was the original version..

  • the spider walk wasnt the creepy thing but the fuckin music

    like wtf?

  • My Favorite Movie lol

  • AWESOME! I know, im weird.

  • WOW FUCKING CREEPY AS SHIT

  • omg i watched the movie when i was younger. i was so afraid of it that i slept by my mom -.-

  • I cant sleep now :(

  • @Theyseemerollin8 AND U ARE AN IDIOT!!! Todays BULLSHIT generation cant stop making FUCKING REMAKES!!! So, at least this is an original movie that has stood the fucking test of time ssoooo DEAL WITH IT!!!

  • @sheilaboy44 Sounds like we hit a NERVE...you failed to mention any examples..so...basically you lost your aargument in any intelligent way...have a nice day with your remakes

  • Its Creepeir with No Music!

  • Comment removed

  • @weirdscience85 I know and its creepy. But if you silence it its still really creepy!

  • wow... CREEPY.

  • the music is fuckin eerie

  • the version with blood coming out of her mouth is even better

  • @toomuchpetrol i think this version is better because it shows the demon wants her to go out and commit adultery, the scene with the blood just ended her with out trying to get out of the house which doesn't feel really demonic. but the blood should have kept in as she tries to get out making her tongue go in and out like that.

  • :O I WANNA BE ABLE TO DO THAT!

  • To be honest, no matter what, they should hve kept that scene. Its original and everyone knows it.

  • This is like the best scene. Y they delete it

  • @psichodude because it looked too fake, you could see the wires holding actress up so they did not release until they could remove the wires with cgi

  • @DrownedInEmptiness i read the book and watch the film but on tv -.-

  • WOW she must have a good gymnastics teacher!!!

  • thats nasty

  • I dont see the scene in the film

  • @smalllions Theatrical cut, there was a lot of scenes taken out in that version. Extended cut has everything in it. I'd recommend getting that version over anything else.

  • Why did I say I'd sleep on the couch

  • when the movie was first shown in 1973, there was no spiderwalk, however 2 versions of spiderwalk were filmed. The one in this video is the spiderwalk based directly from the book, the other...more gory one was also scrapped but later installed in the rerelease of the film called "the version you've never seen"

  • @smalllions it was cut out of the final piece.

  • Comment removed

  • @smalllions Original theatrical cut.

  • for some reason, i found this version alot scarier than the one with blood coming from her mouth, the tounge slithering really gets to you and you dont know why she is doing that

  • The way linda Blair did that tongue slithering thing that really creep me out.

  • holy water that shit was creepy!..

  • Oh, yeah, thanks for reminding me of this scene. I planned on sleeping with the lights on tonight anyway. :D

  • @iLoveMyKittenMilo

Wow, way to be original. Look at the comment with the most thumbs up. . .

  • This is the best version I think. Trumps the tomato ketchup version

  • @rhillieandmillie she's 12

  • Krzysztof Pendrecki!!! POLAND POLSKA

  • Holy motherfucking god damn shit.

Last night I kept hearing the song from this.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Okay so, Ive never seen this movie.. and I really don't want too but just wondering, how old is that girl? she looks 8 D:

  • this scared the living shit out of me.. thanks

  • THIS IS THE ORIGINAL EXCORCIST 1973???? CAUSE I SAW IT AND THIS SHENE WASN'T IN :S????

  • @Theo3435 Yes, this is the original Exorcist. This scene was deleted in the 1973 version. They put the scene back in the 2000 version [a.k.a., the Version You've Never Seen Before].

  • The music makes this 18562756x scarier D:

  • grosss....

  • MY ROOM IS NEXT TO THE STAIRS! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  • in the Exorcist she walks like that but she dosent flip over and stick her tounge out, blood comes out its mouth.

  • wow! seriously...wow. I'm an exorcist fan and I really appreciate what you did here...I remember being 15 when I saw the movie the first time....couldn't sleep for 2 weeks! kept seeing that face of hers..

.with this re-edit you just gave me a new chill ! and yeah, I like this better than the blood-mouth edit. thankyou for ADDING to an already almost perfect film. cheerio!

  • this isnt scary at all, the uncut was tho! the music is sick too

  • That was the creepiest thing i have ever seen

  • Thanks for sharing that. I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight anyway.

  • I honestly think this is the best cut of this scene, there's the horror of her scuttling down the stairs and then the realization that she's behaving just like a lizard. It's much better than the shortened down cut and the gory mouth cut. This cut gets you twice.

Friedkin fucked up by not using this.

  • The other version is much, MUCH more scary.

  • @viliboy It doesn't match the biblical story line as well as this one.Blood coming out her mouth is not even remotely as demonic as her slithering down the stairs like a serpent and trying to attack them.

  • @Breniznit It's not the blood. The overall scene is scarier. Chasing them like a little puppy with her tongue out ruins the scene. The other one have no music and it stops earlier, making it more intense. But everyone with its own taste.

  • Did the REAL kid really do the spider walk?

  • Wow! People actually thought THIS was scary!? xD

  • @FrznReaper Demonic possession in films was quite new in the 70's, people weren't expecting an innocent little girl to turn into a horrifying monster. There was nothing like this before it came out and there isn't a single film today that effected the world the same way this film did.

  • @CoolCarlos1985 Hmm, its understandable to be scared of something you've never seen before and yeah, I guess people just weren't prepared for this kind of stuff

  • Btw great editing job

  • Call me crazy but i dont see whats so scary about a little girl with a lizard togue crawling quickly across the floor. I find this scene actually kind of cheesy and funny especially when she flips around halfway down the stairs and it just doesnt fit the genuinely scary feel of the rest of the movie imo. I found the upside down bloody mouth scene to b way more intense, realistic, and to the point.

  • @DoseOneIsJesus The only thing i liked better about this version is the violins in the backround and the fact that its a lil longer

  • GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I rented this film on tape just recently and discovered that this scene wasn't even on it. Is this a deleted scene or something? It wasn't this or the bloody version.

  • @Iamthewaltzer Sounds like you got the original theatrical version that was shown in theaters back in 1973. There is another version available that has the spiderwalk as well as quite a few other scenes that were cut from the original. There's a caption on the cover that says "the version you've never seen" so if you buy it, you'll know you're getting the whole thing. It's much better with the extra scenes.

  • @Iamthewaltzer its the director cut

  • Whlo is Sharon to Chris and Reagan? And why is it that Chris is a well-known actress, but no one (except the detective) every recognizes her or asks for her autograph? That is one of the most confusing parts of the story to me... she wore dark glasses and a scarf when Reagan becan to get "sick", but PLENTY of actors.actresses today try similar deterrants to public recognition, but to know avail...

  • @tummielvr Sharon was the nanny to regan since chris was a single mother and always traveled with regan because of her being an actress. Also since regan got sick and Chris realize that this was something very serious and she was desperate for help and no doctors could help her, she had to stop acting and hide herself from the public because she was to depressed to deal with the public. Hope this helps you understand a little better.

  • SHIT!!! this is realy creepy! no wonder it scared people to shit back then

  • someone should make another movie to this but with different people. that would be fcking awesome XDD

  • This scared the crap out of me

  • If you ask me this is creepier than the bloody version lol

  • I don't find it scary. I don't see what is so scary about the tonge and crawling near them.

  • They should have left this. This is 3124324234 times creepier and scarier than the bloody one. I swear, I actually got so freaked out on this one. xD

  • Friedkin was 100% correct in leaving the spiderwalk scene (and other scenes) on the cutting room floor. It's unfortunate that he had to tinker with his masterpiece decades later just to sell blue ray disks. The original film was perfect in every way.

These added and reedited scenes simply look silly and clunky.

  • mamma mia capolavoro

  • yes this is the original, and not that when she crawl and spit out blood...

  • I never saw this version O.o

  • @KakashiLover2111 no the version i know was when blood came out of her mouth but not this

  • The blood thing looks super fake. I saw this first, and its' actually ten times scarier in my opinion. The music just crashing in also scares the shit out of me. I dunno what it is about violins....

  • long tongue i cant do dat

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT

  • i didn't saw this version:| only that when she opens her mouth

  • this is wayyy scarier than the bloody mouth one.

  • Holy sh^%!...i dont remember seeing that part! creepy as hell.

  • no one would do a French kiss with someone like that now would they xD

  • That's cool!!

  • ah, ive only seen the scene with the blood coming from her mouth. nice to see this version :D

  • @exmk000 Well that makes sense, it certainly came out that way when I saw it for the first time. Thanks for the info.

  • This is actually what the spiderwalk looked like in the book, but in the "Version You've Never Seen" Regan comes down the stairs very quickly, and opens her mouth to reveal blood. Any idea why they used that instead of this?

  • The spiderwalk in the novel is creepier, she actually followed them spiderwalking around the house and the position was almost an O...almost impossible to do in real life ( few people can do that) without the help of some form of CGI.

  • I have always thought that it is a little too easy to tell that the stunt person is suspended from wires and not actually walking down the stairs on their hands. If you pause the straight on shot of the person coming down the stairs (around 0:14) you can see the the fingers are barely touching the steps. Also, if you look closely (about 0:15) you can see the places where the pajamas are being pulled up by the wires the stunt person is suspended on. The music you added is very effective.

  • @toxicXchode i recon

  • Oh wow i never ever saw this scene ever it really creeps me out.

  • ive seen alotta fucked up things... but that creeped me out lol.

  • Hey, people, what version do you prefer?

    'Good video :)'

  • i like the blood comming out of the mouth better

  • omg i never seen that part of the movie wow!

  • ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa that toungue scared me haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Curious little kid they have there.

  • hoooo thatn tounge is creepy hahahahahaha ouch im scared

  • hahaha awesome..... it didnt creep me out at tall... for some reason normally i can get pretty creeped out.....

  • q lenguota

  • a bit tame

  • @Trademarc1977,

    thanx for that clarification,fella.

  • Fucking hate the music. lol

  • Could never understand why the cencors decided to cut this scene from the film! It's certainly no scarier, and in fact much less scarier than the majority of scenes.Still the best 'horror' film of all time!

  • @popazz1 It wasn't cut by the censors, it was cut by director William Friedkin himself, who did not like the scene.

  • LOL Hallirious u earned my sub mate

  • CONGRATULATIONS. this is better than the movie version. It is exactly as I imagine. I don't like the bloody mouth of the movie version,

  • AWSOME !!! OLDIE BUT GOODY

  • i saw the whole movie even this scene but it was freaking awsome!!!

  • This is the perfect spiderwalk scene.Absolutely nothing awkward about it at all.

  • @AbsolsRazorWind yea the actress that got hurt was ellen burstyn (the mother) in the scene where Raegan slaps her to the floor- that was prior to the crucifixion scene...you're right about Billy Friedkin, he was a gun fanatic and wanted the actors to be genuinely scared..it worked....@ligreekguy i believe it won best sound and editing...not too bad...this i believe is the best horror flck to date

  • WAAAAAAAH ! =D I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE =D

  • Anyone else get the goosebumps?

  • This movie was famous because of its special effects.

  • @villalba874 It is not it was famous for being so controversial. The "special effects" were indeed not special. The director wanted real emotive responses and he fired guns and slapped the cast around for the effects he wanted. He also put the bedroom in a freezer to better achieve the desired temperature. And one of the actors sustained a severe and permanent spinal injury during a scene where she was tossed around the room. Her scream in the film was completely real because it was so painful.

  • i dont know why but this scares me reallyy baddd:D

    hahah but its funny

  • thats actually kind of silly!

  • those are some weird violins playing

  • The bloodscream was more disturbulous.

  • i thought this was part of it

  • This is cool, should have been in the film. Can someone please explain though as I've seen a clip where she's spider walking and then stops and blood pours from her mouth. This version doesn't have any blood. Thanks.

  • frickin creepy dude!!!

  • This is perfect. Exactly how they should have reedited it back in when they released the Version You've Never Seen. It's such a creepy scene. Much better then then just the bloody mouth they did use.

  • I was gonna say I don't remember this part but it was cut out lol

    Funny

This is creepy though.... I would pee my pants

  • Actually I'm glad they cut that part out.

  • Wow awesome edit, that freaked me out. They should put your cut into the film!

  • u know i've seen this movie many of versions..still never seen the one where she actually leaves the stairway..and chases her mom.. which one is this from....and... is the actually first copy that went to theatres available anywhere???

  • Amazing... I Like this movie

  • This wasn't in the 'original' because it's in the Director's Cut. William Peter Blatty :& Williams Friedken argued extensively about this scene. But fortunately for us, we will be allowed to see the entire masterpiece on Sept 30th. This is my favorite movie of all time and I've seen EVERY adjustment...

  • @colewagner that doesn't really make sense to say it's not in the original because it's in the director's cut

  • According to scripture God drove Legend or the evil spirits or any of a number of fallen angels who sided with Lucifer out of the possessed man into a herd of swine and then drove the swine into the lake. Not all evil spirits were done for down through the centuries and Lucifer raised his head at different times by demonic possession. Now blind faith would have us believe all this stuff and make it possible for us to be lazy rather than being thinkers. Fun and scary movie though. But then so wa

  • Why was this never seen in the original??

  • To me idy but when she twists around as shes spider walkin down the stairs is freakin eerie!

  • O.O looks like I'm not sleeping tonight....

  • @exmk000 Yes that would forbassify the effect somewhat. Have you seen the Exorcist 2?

  • what a nice little girl

  • is this d 1973 one?

  • Ok thts kinda disturbing..

her tounge kinda creeps me out..

  • @LilSether good youre just watchin onkel friedhelm...

  • The tongue thing scared me the most in this scene...

  • i haveto admit this movie was well done

  • To me this is the best version! Well done!

  • like an iguana!
