the system we have with private insurers is truly awful for children with disabilities. a week after my child was diagnosed with autism we got a letter from them stating that they will no longer cover her occupational therapy and psychological services because it's a "pre-existing condition".

FDR was one of the worst presidents in American history. He was directly responsible for ballooning and greatly prolonging the Great Depression. His very short sighted big govt ideas that made the great depression GREAT was the principle reason that America joined WWII so late.

Read Principles for Allocations of Scarce Medical Interventions. This system will be needed when the government is faced with scarce resources to pay for medical services. I work in an orthopaedic office and unfortunately I hear every story. You don't have to believe me. In fact I wish the insurance companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield would go back to the glory days when only seven percent of their profit margin went to administrative cost. Jdog, this is similar to what was done with States/plans regarding insurance coverage in the Health Insurance Portability Act of 1996. Look it up. This is essentially what gives us the ability to not get turned down for insurance at a job with a pre-existing condition as long as an individual has not had a gap in their coverage. There were plans and states that were grandfathered into the law though depending on what they were, this is what they are talking about in section 102.

This is a very important subject for me as well. I've been struggling with Autism and other conditions my whole life, and i feel that there is not only confusion about how Heath care reform will take place but also what exactly denotes a mental disability as well. On a personal social scale the disability is apparent even if its not regarded as such, but when discussed amongst peers without a disability, the less apparent conditions seem unclear and cause uncertainty amongst those discussing it.

the system we have with private insurers is truly awful for children with disabilities. a week after my child was diagnosed with autism we got a letter from them stating that they will no longer cover her occupational therapy and psychological services because it's a "pre-existing condition".
We need health care reform now to stop this corruption. And to anyone who protests big government, why aren't you protesting our military action, public schools, police or fire department?

Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel, advisor for the White House has the Disability-Adjusted-Life-Years system which puts a value on each persons life. Read Principles for Allocations of Scarce Medical Interventions. This system will be needed when the government is faced with scarce resources to pay for medical services. Rationing would be done out of necessity, not because they planned it that way. It will be a reality when there isnt enough money in the system to cover everyone.

I work in an orthopaedic office and unfortunately I hear every story. You don't have to believe me. In fact I wish the insurance companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield would go back to the glory days when only seven percent of their profit margin went to administrative cost. The rest, I mean the rest went to patient care. However that was when insurance companies really cared about the bottom line which was total patient care and the same for hospitals. Jdog, this is similar to what was done with States/plans regarding insurance coverage in the Health Insurance Portability Act of 1996. Look it up. This is essentially what gives us the ability to not get turned down for insurance at a job with a pre-existing condition as long as an individual has not had a gap in their coverage. There were plans and states that were grandfathered into the law though depending on what they were, this is what they are talking about in section 102.

Further, Cash for Clunkers wasn't a subsidy of the auto industry. It wasn't about them at all, however much they might have benefited from it. Maybe you should have said the money Bush gave them just before Obama entered office was a subsidy, though even then, not really.

This is a very important subject for me as well. I've been struggling with Autism and other conditions my whole life, and i feel that there is not only confusion about how Heath care reform will take place but also what exactly denotes a mental disability as well. On a personal social scale the disability is apparent even if its not regarded as such, but when discussed amongst peers without a disability, the less apparent conditions seem unclear and cause uncertainty amongst those discussing it.

who said anything about a profit. the us gov't has unfunded liabilities of 65 trillion dollars. learn the numbers before you spew your nonsense. they cant afford a take over of healthcare the american people with brains know that anything the gov't touches turns to shit. lets see bill clinton during the 90's tried to get gov't takeover of health care and failed. During a economic boom and prosperity and they couldnt pass it because they couldnt afford it. but now in a time of depression and turmoil this stupid Barry Soetoro president wants to pass a trillion dollar bill to socialize medicine. Like we can afford it now? The US is bankrupt both morally and financially and Barry is taking us over the edge. Medicare and medicaid were a success? o ya they r bankrupt.
